    Good Afternoon Pepper's,
    Sorry have not posted since Friday, but first week end working second job. I have been really busy at regular job today, have not had the time to sit and read posts. I have work tonight so will try to sit and do it in morning. I have been doing really good. Have not gone over in calories and got at least 10-20 mins of exercise each day. I got my 30 day shred dvd today and my hand weights. I plan on getting up at 4:45 AM and doing my exercise at least 3 times a week. Hope I can stick with it. I really want this.

    Have to finish up the last few things then go to other job. Will try to check back in later if not tomorrow AM.

    Cindy ~ you go girl! so happy for you gettin that exercise in!! I am planning on starting the shred next week, and do on my C25K off days....so we can cheer each other on! 4:45 sounds so early.....hope it all works out for you! I did that many, many yrs ago, I was like 26-27. I am still a morning person, but I'd pry have to go to bed at like 8.....I am so proud of you! You can do this!!

    Miss Vita~ yay for you today! lol, you crack me up....hair all over in the wind.....sexy you! :bigsmile: I am feeling just a lil sexy but not so much with my onion breath now! :sick:

  • Hi Smokin' Hot Green Peppers. I am back. Sorry I haven't been around but I am back now. I weigh 212.2 today. This is the first time I stepped on the scale since Dec. 22. I am grateful that I only gained 4 pounds. I thought for sure it would have been closer to 10 pounds. I wonder if I am feeling fatter because of the baby. If you didn't know I was pregnant you can't tell but if you know you can see a little baby bump if you look hard and I am wearing a tighter fit shirt. Just before Christmas we found out that we are having a boy. I am so excited!! Tomorrow I will be 23 weeks. The baby is very active now. I think I am not the only one who missed swimming for the last 3 weeks.

    Jacque - I am sorry to hear about the robbery right before Christmas. That really sucks. I hope you are better from your cold.

    Crystal - Good luck in lowering your cholesterol. I have tried Zumbia once and had a blast. I am not very coordinated but had fun anyway.

    Sindy - I am glad your doctor gave you more time before putting you on medicine. Congrats on the weight loss!

    MissV - Congrats on the good health report from the doctor.

    Butterfly & Kym - Welcome to our group!

    Kelly - Congrats on the weight loss and starting the C25K. Thank you for the beautiful charts and all your motivation you give us as a group.

    Megan - I am sorry to hear you broke your foot. I am sure you were having fun playing with your son up to that point. I hope you heal fast.

    Sassie - No gain is GREAT for the holidays!

    Barb - Sorry to hear about your gym's locker room. That sucks. I hope you are feeling better soon.

    Whitney - I never heard of the hcg diet. What is it?

    My goals for the rest of this week are:
    *Log in all of my food everyday
    *Stay within my calories
    *Exercise at least for 400 minutes this week.
    *Eat at least 5 veggies a day.

    Hey ladies....I am here. No gain no loss again this week......not doing any exercise just watching my food, kicking in the workouts starting tomorrow. Pulled the Gazelle out of the 2nd bedroom where it has been sitting since we moved last month.

    Good morning everyone!!!

    DH and I made it to the gym last night to do C25K!! I'm going to be a pro at w1 by the time this week is over. It really wasn't a struggle at all. I really think I should've moved on to week 2, but I'll stick with w1 if it helps him. I'm coaxing him into going to do the last day this week by himself. We should be going Friday night, but I have to babysit my nieces. He can't go Saturday morning because he has a class. I'm tryin got convince him that he should go by himself Friday after work and I can just go while he's in class Saturday morning. I don't think he's been to the gym alone since we signed up a year ago. Hopefully there's a first time for everything!!

    I think when I get off work, I'm headed home to do Biggest Loser Weighloss Yoga! I haven't tried this one yet!

    Big long story but I have really been pushing the baby issue the past few weeks and the hubby says "Not now" I know hat we have to move in december to wherever, and I know the girls will be in full time school for the first time so I can get a wonderful DAY job without having to pay a million dollars for day care! LOL
    anyhow i guess that i pushed the issue extra good on sunday and he said "Yes lets try for one, now then" and I tell yuo the second he said thst YES I flipped out saying to myself "Nope, its not the right time now, nope........blah blah........" so I sat and talked to him and I was the one that decided no....That is a huge thing for me, I LOVE LOVE LOVE babies! and I would love to have more and i hope that one day I do, but with the 2 that I have they were not planned, and when you actually sit down and try to plan a baby...taht is hard!:love: Anyhow wanted to get that out there because it has been a struggle that i have had lately and didnt talk to anyone about,and it has gotten me down.
    Crystal~Congrats on the workout with the hubby! That is what i have been doing lately and I love it, I found that I push myself harded in front of him! and he looks at me like he didnt think i had it in me! :smooched: :bigsmile: Always keep them guessing!
    Sassie-Pants~Way to go on the eating right! It is hard but sooooo worth it

Something bout a mom and her boys! Course, I would have liked a lil girl too, but that ain't gonna happen! 4 lbs is nothing! You have a baby on board! I'm likin' your goals for the week! I know you'll do your best to meet and achieve them!! :flowerforyou:

    Sassie ~ glad you are getting the good eating down....sometimes that is the best way to start. I know if I do too much at first, I get overwhelmed and give up. Little steps here....you can do this~~ I BELIEVE IN YOU!! :heart:

    V darling ~ geeez, sorry you been stressing bout the baby thing.....I know that whatever you decide, it will all work out and that your baby will be loved no matter what. I love babies too, they are just the sweetest little people!! Baby skin, baby smell.....don't get me started. My oldest is 20 today, and I have been having some fond memories all them yrs ago....time has gone sooo fast! Love em, hug em and squeeze em while their little!! * so special *!! :heart: :smooched:

    So, lastnite I did my foody challenge....I made my own salad dressing....1 TSP EVOO, 2 TBSP fresh salsa, 1/4 tsp minced garlic, and black pepper. YUM! I didn't get my stretch and tone in, but I did some free wts for about 10-15 minutes with 8-10 lbs. Got in about 80 minutes. Gonna exercise soon, before lunch. I have been doing laundry, cleaned the bathroom, kitchen, vacuumed and baked a cake for the birthday boy....AND....I have a bus trip from 3 > 9pm. Busy Busy!! BL will have to be taped tonite!

    Helllooooo SHGPs! Im back. For those that are new (after I left) I am jennifer aka KITN and am back to try again.
    I am so glad to be back with each and every one of you. I wanted to tell you all that I missed you so much. I am hoping to see results this time around and I AM NOT GOING TO BEAT MYSELF UP if I do fall back. Just get back on track and keeping pushing!
    you guys were always so easy to go to when things were hard and I appreciated it so much....I just let myself get down in the dumps and not doing that again.
    *So new start*
    Starting weight 130 lbs.....give or take a pound some days I think :wink: :wink:

    I want to be in that 2 piece before the summer....so keeping my fingers crossed. Going to the gym tonight and going to make sure when I wake up tomorrow I AM SORE! I want to feel it in me when I bend down to put on my shoes. :laugh:

    Well got a few mins today to read up on how everybody is doing. I was so happy with the 2 pound loss, have not had a loss for a long time. Still trying to get more than 10 mins of exercise everyday. (I so want to do my new dvd, but no time :grumble: )

    Megan - I had crutches, you should not be getting pain under arms. they should be about a inch from there and try leaning on the palms. I had lots of pain with the crutches. Sorry you are going through that. :flowerforyou:

    Missv - you are doing great, keeping me motivated too LOL

    Crystal I wanted to do the zumba, but need to get in better shape first. Keep it up. :drinker:

    Angie - when I went to the doctors office I think I knew the results were not good. I know I was not going on the meds again. I was able to lower my sugar with weight loss and I am ready to shed it all. I asked him if it would have hurt me to wait 4 more months and he said no and that was that.

    I gotta get back to work, but will check in again. I will finish my post then. I have a lot to say to everyone. You are all great ! :bigsmile:

    Ok so my day has been fair so far, reallly tired and still feels like I am not over this cold yet.
    Well walked my 30 min last night Yeah but ate like a pig at dinner. ope to do better tonight.
    Walk for 20 min on lunch break and going to walk to the car tonight so that will be another 30 min.
    Keeping up with the water and logging food.
    So yeah it been a fair day
    Cant wait to watch BL tonight

    Happy Tuesday everyone --

    Congrats on baby boy Angie. Best wishes to you!

    Yesterday, my co-worker wanted a Wendy's Frosty & asked me to go to lunch w/her. First I said I brought my lunch but I would look up the calories in a frosty. Jr size - 160 calories. Then I decided oh, I'll have a value fry & jr bacon cheeseburger. And I would eat my lunch for dinner.

    That did it... I went over my calorie count. Based on the remaining afternoon protein shake & dinner.From last Monday to Sunday I was below my calorie count and rather proud to have 6 consecutive days at below.

    Now, if I walked lunch time or did a longer walk end of day or went to curves eating lunch out would not be a problem.
    However, due to a military event, I couldn't walk lunch time and I visited friends last night.....

    Today's a new day to start over with.....
    Not beating myself up .... just realizing one bad day isn't going to ruin me.

    Here's to fresh starts!

  • Good evening SHGP! Boy does it feel good to get back into a normal routine. Just finishing up laundry. I ate like a pig today but also exercised for 2.5 hours so it all balanced out. I didn't get my 5 veggies in for the day. Oh well tomorrow is a new day. Hope everyone is having a great day.

    Good Morning all,
    Well did a lilttle better yesterday but not by much, water in Logged untill dinner, walked to car and to bank, so a little more walking then the day before. Still having trouble getting to bed earlier. Which I need if I want to get up and go to the gym before work.
    So did anyone freak out last night like I did after the BL. there are to many ladies this time that are right at my weight, seem a little too real. Well they really put it all out on the medical stuff and I have to say I am a little scared. I really am having a harder time and I can not figure out why I am not doing more. I do not want to be diabetic, I am on BP meds and thankfully that is all but last night kinda scared me. that one lady is on 9 medication and I started thinking I am a 1/4 there. So with that said I really need to figure out why I am holding myself back, I wish I knew how to fix this? any ideas?

    also I am not sure whats going on with my body, I looked at the scale this morning and even with all the walking I am up 2 pounds and it Wenesday?

    Hey everyone!! Nothing new or exciting here. Today is C35K w1d2. I did BL Weight Loss Yoga yesterday after work. I really liked it. My legs are a little sore this morning. Bob is tough but fun. It is a really good stretching/strength training video.

    Jacque, just make the commitment to yourself that you ARE going to do this. You HAVE to do this!!! My suggestions is to instead of logging as you eat, try sitting down either the night before or early in the morning to plan your day and log it. It takes a little more effort at first, but it really has helped me. I actually plan most of the week on Monday and then just make updates if something changes. By logging ahead of time, you know before you ever put something in your mouth if it is going to 'break the bank". You CAN do this!! Don't worry about the scale today. Just keep at it and it will go down.

    So yesterday was a slow day, was under on my daily calories, but not by a ton! which is great. Ate meat free and tryed a new recepie from a vegan cookbook which was really not that bad. didn't get any exercise in really but did do some house cleaning. Going to the gym today and it is arm day so wish me luck!
    Jacque~ I understand where you are comming from there! That is why I stopped watching the show! I loved it but it made me feel bad and nervous for my future. I think not watching it has had a good effect on me because I still remember some of the moments taht made me freak out too! You are doing very good! and you you are on track! It is happening for you, I always say "How come it is so easy to put weight on but so hard to take it off" And it has taken 2 years for me to loose 80 pounds doing it slow, and healthy! It is different for everyone. I think you are doing a great job!

    Morning all! Good luck on all your goals and make it count! Let's make the effort to be healthy! BL was one of the better ones I have seen...and yes, it scared me too. I hope to reference it often.

    Jacque ~ I agree with Crystal. I honestly think trying to lose wt, making time to exercise, etc., is mostly mental. You have to really want this, more than anything. You cannot do it for anyone but yourself. Tell yourself, OUTLOUD, ** I am worth this ** I deserve to be healthy ** I want to live a long and happy life **. Then, take action. Do it! Make a plan....maybe just change one thing a week, and keep with it then add something new the next week and so on. Remember, if you are not eating at mealtime or are not hungry, it is likely you are eating for emotions....and/or our blasted hormones!! Try hard to look at your behavior and determine the "why". It isn't easy...took me many, many yrs to figure this one out, but I ate when I was lonely, bored, sad, happy, anxious, mad...ALL that. I still have all those feelings, but eating does not make me feel better. Yeah, it might *taste* good, and only for that moment, but soon after, I am even more miserable. I HAD to break that pattern, and it did take a long time, but I didn't give up. Each time I failed, I tried to go back to that moment and analyze it.....One thing that has helped me is to stay out of the kitchen. Do you think you need to see a Dr. to make sure you don't have anything else going on? Just an idea. And like Crystal said, prep/plan your meals ahead of time as much as you can. Cut and clean veggies Sunday or one day a week and bag them for the *whole* week. Have your fruits cleaned and ready to grab. Cook meats and put in the freezer, single servings. I make tuna salad by the cans and have it ready to spread. Give up white flour, bread and cereals. When you eat whole grains, it will fill you up and help you stay satiated longer. Slowly get away from processed food and try to go natural. Do you like nuts? Buy in bulk, whole/ no salt and have ready for snacks. Do you have a scale to measure your food? I weigh everything I eat. It gives me a better idea of portion size and calories. Make sure you are eating enough calories. MFP had me around 1200 - 1400 for 1/2 - 1 lb loss/week. I need more like 1600 calories and more when I exercise. Check out the Basal Metabolic Rate formula's on the web for a better idea of what you really need. The scale isn't the greatest tool for wt loss. Do your clothes fit loser? Are you feeling more energetic? 2 lbs could be water, hormones, etc. If you have a bad moment or two, realize, hey it's ok, I can change this and move ahead.....you don't have to wait for the next day, take action when you are aware of it. Go for a walk, get to the gym, jog in place, do some jumping jacks, jump rope, lift some milk jugs, or do something that makes you feel good, paint your nails, soak in the tub, relax with a good book or magazine..JUST DO IT! you will feel better about doing something, than nothing! I know deep down inside you really want to do this....and I know it is going to happen...it's just all up to you!!! I believe in you Jacque!! We are always here for you, no matter what!

    HELLO LADIES!!!

    So I am psyched bc I went to the gym last night. First time in months and I even went by myself....wooohoo!
    I did over a mile run/jog on the treadmill and then one good run through on the circuit training then headed over to the womens gym and did 2 arm workouts, leg press, the leg/butt lift (dont know what its called) and then abs 2 different ways....so an hour at the gym. Did good on food for themost part....a few surprises on calories after I ate a few things but ended up with extra calories at the end of the day!

    I am so feeling better this mornig...i love it!
    Going to keep this going as i really want to get this weight off BEFORE spring. Every year I picture myself looking better and feeling better within a certain time...and then when that time comes...i look back at how if I had stuck to it...i would be where I wanted to be right then! Ahhhh it sucks to beat yourself up so NO MORE!

    I have some rules for you all to live by...its the greatest and is very inspiring!
    I LOVE IT!

    HANDBOOK 2010

    Health:
    1. Drink plenty of water.
    2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
    3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..
    4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy
    5. Make time to pray.
    6. Play more games
    7. Read more books than you did in 2009 .
    8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day
    9. Sleep for 7 hours.
    10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

    Personality:
    11. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
    12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
    13. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
    14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
    15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
    16. Dream more while you are awake
    17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
    18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
    19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.. Don't hate others.
    20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
    21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
    22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
    23. Smile and laugh more.
    24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree...

    Society:
    25. Call your family often.
    26. Each day give something good to others.
    27. Forgive everyone for everything..
    28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
    29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
    30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
    31. Stay in touch with friends.

    Life:
    32. Do the right thing!
    33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
    34. GOD heals everything.
    35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change..
    36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
    37. The best is yet to come..
    38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.
    39. Your Inner most is always happy. So, be happy

  • So...I'm guilty of lack of checking in here Peppers!! Sorry!!

    I've excercised every night this week. Finally got the treadmill moved into my room so I've been treading it up. My last weigh in was at 238 but I havent logged it yet. Trying to wait until tomorrow. I'm a scale watcher though. :blushing:

    I just can't help myself.

    Thinking of making baked chicken tonight. I have a lack of sides though. Any ideas Peppers?

    steamed broccoli or cauliflower....
    a salad of spinach leaves, romaine lettuce with tomatoes, ** green pepper's**, onions, mushrooms, celery, carrots....pile on the veggies, topped with a homemade EVOO dressing, or fresh salsa, vinagarette...
    baked sweet potato, topped with cinnamon and cottage cheese.

    oh, the possibilities!! :tongue:

    Good Afternoon Pepper's,
    Could not get back on the computer yesterday, very busy today at work as well.

    Jacque I understand about being on meds. I am 5 different meds and that is why I dont want to be on meds for my diabeties. I have many health issues and some could not be controlled by diet. So I really want to get healthy and maybe loose a couple. It is not easy and I feel its harder too. We will get there it just may take a little longer, I am eating healthy most of the time.

    We can do this together. I feel this is the year for the Pepper's. :drinker:

    My Goal
    to loose 20 pounds by May (or more)(that will mean no meds)
    drink my 8 glasses of water a day
    log everything everyday and stay with in calories.
    try to get more exercise in everyday

    Haha! I guess. I got my stepdad to move it for me. She's been real supportive these past few days.
    Told me she was proud of my consistency yesterday. Shocker lol.
