Jacque, so happy for you tonite!! Doesn't it feel great!! You can do this! When you get up tomorrow, just do the same thing. Plan ahead your meals and snacks as best you can. This IS hard work, so stay positive and we will get to where we want to be!! hugs

Have nice evenin team! Make Thursday a good one!
  • Congrats Jacque for not going over on your calories!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:  I thought because I am pregnant that I would be able to make myself eat better but I have not. I struggle everyday with eating fruits and veggies and not going over in fat, sodium and carbs. The only reason I have not gained 50 pounds during my pregnancy is because I have the time and motivation (most days) to exercise for 2-3 hours 5 days a week. If I were eating healthy foods I would have probably would have continued to loose weight even though I am pregnant. Each day I try again to eat my fruits & veggies and stay within my food goals. Some days are better than others. Tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully I will do better. Thank god for my prenatal vitamin. I hope everyone is have a great evening.

Good going Jacque. When I see you on FB, I'm going to IM you - ask if you planned your meals. No escaping me! Well, yeah if you don't respond to the IM. You don't do that... you always respond..... same w/Crystal & Kelly. They respond too!

Angie - each day is a fresh start. You're motivated. How many other expecting ladies have the "I'm eating for 2" mindset and then shovel full packages of Oreos in their mouths. Oh, you mean I was the ONLY one that did stuff like that! I don't think so.......

Better yet, this excuse - I'm breastfeeding so I'm supposed to eat more. Yeah, right.... it's only a few hundred calories more not the whole package of Oreos.....

    Thursday is new day.....
  • BAlcott - You had to mention Oreos!!! Now I want some. Thank god I don't have any in the house.

My problem is I give in too much to my cravings which for me is ice cream, candy bars, and cookies. If I don't have them in the house, then when I go to the store I buy them and every other sweet thing that looks appealing to me. Finally, I got smart and started sending my husband to the store. Now I don't always have the food I want to eat in the house but I don't have the ingredients to make things that are good for me either. Oh well. I am trying very hard not to fall in the mindset of " I am eating for 2". Thankfully each day is a fresh start.

I've excercised every night this week. Finally got the treadmill moved into my room so I've been treading it up.

Yay!! Did mom get tired of you using the treadmill in her room?

Haha! I guess. I got my stepdad to move it for me. She's been real supportive these past few days.
Told me she was proud of my consistency yesterday. Shocker lol.

I'm really glad to hear that. Things are much easier when you have loved ones supporting you!!

Today is THURSDAY!! So, ok pepper's....let's have a good one and be mindful of our wt loss goals and try hard to do what is necessary!! JUST DO IT!

Angie~ I think you are doing awesome, lil mamma! I think by 5 mos I had gained 25 lbs or so....each time. I did not eat healthy at all and I did NO exercise! You are just amazing with your workout hrs!! I have suggested to my dh to get the groceries, b/c of all the temptations..but he so hates to shop....and well, I don't mind it. But I have to buy all his sweets...ice cream, candy bars, cookies, etc...then hide them so I don't binge. I think my hardest is chips.....I could eat an entire bag. But, again, I do have my favorites in moderation. And, I might plan it in my meals or for the weekend just to have something ( treat for me!) to look forward to. I am happy your pregnancy is going so well. It is getting closer each day!! ** E-X-C-I-T-E-M-E-N-T ** :flowerforyou:

Miss V ~ you're just burnin' those calories!! you and Crystal are gonna be in the 100's in no time!! skinny smokin hot peppers!! OWWWWW!! :blushing: hope the rink was a good time!!

Crystal ~ I am just so proud of you going to the gym and dh a no show. That takes dedication my dear! Nothing gonna stop you now!! You still doing Zumba too? all kinds of activity~~ YAY!!

Well, am gonna head to the city today for some food. still kinda tired and fighting sleep issues. dh gets up @ 5 and I have a hard time falling back to sleep.....really need that extra hour. and, I am gonna get out my hoola hoop for some action today! I am so looking forward to that! work that core!!

    water ~ 8+
stick to clean eats and under calories.
    watch the sodium
gonna try walking for an hour today *outside* since we are near 30* !!
~ and stretch and tone with Denise..that felt amazing yesterday and I did it following my C25K, and since my HR was still kinda elevated from the C25K, I burned even more calories in the stretch and tone! YIPPY!
destress later with a neck and shoulder massage from dh
stay positive, smile and say HI at everyone I see in the stores today!

doing a skinny dance for all of us!! Go Team! :flowerforyou:

    Yay Jacque!!!! Good job!!

DH didn't meet me at the gym yesterday. He's supposed to be going tonight to catch up on C25K since he missed. I made him a little mad last night because I asked him if he really wanted to do this with me. I hurt his feelings because I doubted his commitment. I told him that if he was just doing it for me, I would find someone else to run the Heart Walk with me. He says he’s going to do it. We'll see. I told him I was getting really frustrated that he keeps standing me up. I'm really to the point where if he keeps it up, I'm gong to stop trying to bend my schedule so we can go together. He doesn’t seem to remember that I have to wait around for him since he gets off work an hour later than I do. It is going to be worse soon because my work is building a fitness center on campus for us. Once that opens, I could easily get a workout here and be home before he even gets off work. He's going to have to start actually showing that commitment instead of just talking about it.

Crystal ~ I am just so proud of you going to the gym and dh a no show. That takes dedication my dear! Nothing gonna stop you now!! You still doing Zumba too? all kinds of activity~~ YAY!!

Getting Zumba into my schedule is a little tricky. Classes are Monday and Thursday at 8:30. I'm committed to doing C25K MWF because I have until April 10 to be able to run a 5K. So, that leaves Thursdays being the only day I can go. Two Thursdays a month I have Pokeno. So, that really only leaves me being able to go twice a month. I really would like to be able to go more, but we'll have to see if there are classes at a different studio that my sis and I can fit in our schedules.

BTW, if anyone is intrested in looking for a Zumba class, you can do a search for classes in your area at zumba.com. I didn't realize there were classes around here until the dance studio DS takes my neices to started one. I just did a search at zumba.com and there are 13 different places that have classes within 25 miles of my house!!!

    Good Afternoon Pepper's,

WTG Jacque :drinker: you can do this.

Well had morning off to do some errands, got 40 mins of walking in. I went over my calories yesterday but not bad. :grumble: Having a great Thursday. I am going out with the girls tomorrow night so that should be fun. Will try again to do my dvd before I start my day tomorrow, but will do some kind of walking tomorrow durning lunch, we will have a drink (I never drink LOL), and have a nice relaxing dinner.

    Goals,
stay within calories, log all food
    drink my water
try to get dvd in or walk for exercise
be nice to me (have been sick with a cold since flu shot)

Will check in later. Not as busy today :drinker:

I have just recently seen that these classes are offered at my gym where I go and I didntknow what they were until I saw you mention them earlier this week in a posting...now I want to do one. Are they easy to start off with? I know they would be fun and anything fun thats also exercise is a plus?

    Hi everyone....
End of my work week -- well, I took Tuesday off and Friday is a standard day off. Monday is a federal holiday. I am not back at work until Tuesday! Yipee!

Yesterday I showed a woman in my building this site. Today, she joined. I told her about us... perhaps she'll join... if you desire, drop tamcart62 a hello. Do mention Barb from work so she doesn't get freaked out by unknown people contacting her.

Heres' my success for the work week - no bagels. Didn't buy any from the cafeteria. These aren't frozen Lender things -- these are fresh soft bakery bagels.... Nope, didn't have any of them this week! The only thing I purchased was fresh fruit bowls.

Success for the day. I ate a larger afternoon snack (cottage cheese & fruit) thinking I'm hitting Curves later no problems. Nah, plans changed due to a kid activity. When I realized I was over my calories b/c of a bigger snack, I substitued one Weight watcher smart ones dinner for one w/less calories. Now, I'm under my calorie count again! Ok, I'm only under by 27 calories but under is under.....

Ok, here in my neck of the woods, it's Girl Scout cookie time. I can't escape these cookies b/c I am a Girl Scout Leader for 6th grade Cadettes. If you're looking for more "bang for your calorie buck" in GS cookies, consider the CinnaSpins. These are packaged in 100 calorie bags. 5 bags per box. Now, the Caramel Delights - may be called different depending on your age or region. It's the coconut, chocoate caramel ones. This variety is 150 calories per 2 cookies. Now, seriously who can eat just 2. And in a bad weak moment, I have eaten a whole box in one sitting. Um, that's over 700 calories. Yikes.

So, my goal w/these cookies - stick to one serving size. If I'm going to have some, it better be on days I'm doing a lot of exercising.

Ladies, enjoy your evening.... wishing you all success w/the scale.
    Take care.

    GS COOKIES!!!!
Good thing I havn't spoted a box yet (note to self stay away from all stores or atleast run inside and dont buy cookies)  No I am glad to hear that they have healthier choiced cookies now! It is on like donkey kong now!
Zumba sounds fun, I know that they have it here, I will have to look tomorrow and see what time and all that jazz.
    Got water in
ate meat free, cassava in tortilla for lunch and yam and healthy salsa for dinner with red bell peppers.
All is well, worked at the school today so didnt get any movement in:frown:
But tomorrow is gym day yaaY

    Hi Pepper's!

well, I got my water in, ate clean and was under cals, kinda a lot, but it is late and I'm just gonna have a deficit. No outside walk cuz by the time I went to do it, the temps had dropped and the wet roads were icey, so I did a walk/jog on the treadmill, then stretched with Denise. No hoola hoop either...will have to do that tomorrow. So, I didn't meet all my daily goals....but I succeeded in no 'drive thru's' today!

any ideas for challenges this week????? Would you guys like to do some kind of team challenge for Valentine's day? or maybe a wt loss challenge? Can be individual or team....

Crystal ~ I sense your frustration w/ dh. I would feel the same way. You should be so proud of *yourself* and the determination you show. I don't know, I bet he will eventually go. I would take advantage of the employer's gym too! How convenient!

Sindy ~ have fun with the girls Fri eve! I'm not a big drinker either...pry cuz I drive a bus!

Barb ~ how nice, a long weekend! congrats with the bagels!! We have a Panera Bread that makes awesome whole grain ones. I used to buy them by the dozen and freeze them, plus their yummy honey walnut spread! Love the GS cookies!! Caramel Delights are my fav!! yup, calories in and calories burned...aren't we all just so glad we are aware of what we eat now!!

as I was on the treadmill today, I was watching the evening news...and about Haiti. How tragic. Apparently we lost a local Sr. college student who was part of missionary efforts. It was so hard to watch.....** prayers for Haiti **

Good luck gang! I'll post a new thread shortly!! Week 3, look out! Pepper's are on FIRE!!

Miss V - this year I am determined not to eat a box of Girl Scout cookies in one sitting. Will stick to a serviing size.

My 6th grader has been in Girl Scouts since 4 years old -- so this is her 8th year! I've been her leader for 7 years. My 7th grader is no longer in Girl Scouts.

Now that I think about it... I was easily 15 lbs less before my daughters joined Girl Scouting. Hmmm.... could it be the cookies?

    Wishing all a Happy Friday!

Gosh, I'm almost tasting these cookies just from reading the posts...lol....I could polish off a box in no time! But, ya know what, I am just gonna enjoy these thoughts more than I would devouring a row or two.....
