    I'm so glad to see all of you meeting your goals. I'm going to end up very short of mine since I haven't been on my bike in 2 weeks. My children have been sick, my husband has been out of town, we got our first snow. Lame excuses, I know. But I don't know how I could have worked around any of them. I'm hoping to get back out tomorrow.

    I am in for October. Setting my goal for 200 miles. Since last months crash I will be starting slow. Getting better, started riding again today and I think by end of week I will be back to a normal ride 20 miles or so.

    10/1 - 23.5 miles - 13.4 ave - got my goal for the week 1st. day. Hip and Ribs felt good
    10/4 - 18.5 miles - 13.7 ave - very warm but windy SW 25 mph gusts to 31
    10/11 - 32.2 miles - 13.6 ave. - 61* nice out still a little windy
    10/14 - 5 miles - 11.6 ave. - 70* outside but 41 mph winds gusts to 60.
    10/15 - 34.7 miles - 13.5 ave - good day of riding
    10/16 - 14.0 miles - 13.9 ave - night ride
    10/21 - 22.5 miles - 13.7 ave - very nice day 71* but little breezy
    10/27 - 11.0 miles - stationary bike at hotel





    161.4 miles for October = 1771.0 YTD Really wanting to reach 2000 miles for 2012

    I usually ride about 10k every evening on my stationary bike just to keep my legs supple after my ride out on the roads but I never add them to my total, I could not ride today due to hospital appointments so I just did 50k on it and it just is not the same as a being out in the fresh air spitting out bugs and dodging traffic !!!

    Those are lots of challenges! My kids are older now so I do not have that struggle. Snow on the other hand is a big one. I have winter biking clothes and usually take my mountain bike when its cold but snow will usually keep me inside.

    I rode an additional 86.4 miles to finish off the month. I will have to shoot for 400 for November. I'm sure it's possible if I ride on the days that I don't bike to work.
