Hummus: this is chickpeas (garbanzo beans) and tahini (sesame paste), pureed until smooth. You can make it more inexpensively than buying it, you just stick all the ingredients in a food processor--but making it or buying it--either way it's still a decent food! I use it as a dip for vegetables. My favorites are celery, carrots, sugar snap pea pods, and bell peppers, and I'll make a meal out of just veggies and hummus (by the way this is a pretty standard travel food for me too).

Sweet potatoes: just bake and serve like a baked potato. You will never eat a white potato again.

Greek Yogurt: I don't particularly care for it by itself, but I use plain nonfat greek yogurt as a substitute for mayo in things like chicken salad and it's very good! I also use it in recipes calling for mayo.

Avocado: makes your smoothies creamier (yes, fruit or even chocolate smoothies), delicious on salads, hamburgers, tacos, fajitas, or as quacamole. Even cubed and tossed onto some taco soup.

Quinoa: like rice, it's a grain. It's the most protein you can get from a grain. You cook it like rice, by boiling or in a rice cooker. You can serve it like you would rice or cous cous, as a side dish for grilled lean meats, or there are many recipes for quinoa salads and even breakfast quinoa.

~ yogurt of any kind... although I really want to like it so I am trying. Greek yogurt is awesome in casseroles so I add it in place of soup and get extra protein!
~ cauliflower.... always thought I hated it but love it now, especially mixed in things or with a low fat cheese sauce I make
    ~ liver.... gross!!!
~ most fish.... if I put a bone in my mouth, I literally gag.... although I love tuna
    ~brussel sprouts.... ewwww
