Its time to get over my personal issues and recommit myself to my weight loss. I have been stuck at 239-240 for too long. I want to permanently be out of the 240s and in the 230s. I'm going to do my BEST this week (well, for the rest of this week). I'm going to stick to my cereal and yogurt for breakfast and my shake for lunch. I'm going to work out at least 3 if not 4 nights this week. I can do this. This goal will be done in 4 days. I can do this for 4 measely days.0

yES Blombie! Set your mind to it! If you set your mind to it, you can do it! It took me some serious mindset to get outta the 230's!
I have a ?...
I bought this everlast belt thingy for my stomach.. Not to "hold myself in" (cause it makes me look even more rediculous..) but on the box it states
"to help keep your muscles warm & limber.. Helps burn extra calories" It was 5 bucks at Marshalls, and I had to have it, along with this awesome weighted jump rope from sports authority.. So I wore it on & off over the weekend while I was cleaning and such.. Then strapped it on under my work clothes this morning, and walked to work! When I took it off, it was soo swearty underneath.. even if it doesn't 'work' I'm still gonna rock it.. atleast it keeps me feeling better.. But what do you ladies think?? I'm gonna BING it right now... Can't find it online..0 -

I just realized I have one of these too, I'm going to pull it back out and try it with you for a while. I worry about my tummy ALOT, that is the worse trouble spot for me I am losing slowly and I'm hoping to tone it up...but after three kids, I've done a number to myself! :sad:0 -

You can do it Blombie!!!!! You deserve to put yourself first!!! You can do it!!!! :flowerforyou:0 -
hope you Super ladies are having a fantastic day, I'm feeling a lot better, but I am hungry...off to get some lunch...0
-
Pinbot- glad the veggie eating is going well for you this week!
Blombie- way to put yourself first! Give it everything you can this week! I believe in you!
Nikki- I'm not familiar with that belt thing. Sounds interesting though!
Debra- glad you're feeling better and that you chose something tasty (and nutritious!) for lunch!
I'm leaving in about an hour for a meeting, but then I still plan on c25k-ing it up at the rec center tonight. Eating has gone well. Ate some leftover couscous from last night which was super yummy! Oh, and btw, weighed myself this morning, and I know it might fluctuate up again by Friday, I was 209.6! Out of the 210's!! What a lovely sight to wake up to this morning. We'll see how the rest of the week goes. As long as I hover right around 210ish, I'll be super pleased with weigh-in this week. FInally a turnaround! We all just need to hang in there!0 -

Yes, babies make the tummy loose!
I am glad you have one too, Debra! I figure if the most it will do is make me sweat, sweating is good, so it will hopefully lead to a few extra calories burnt... Is yours everlast? or something else? They had 2 different brands, but I hadn't heard of the other, so I got everlast...
I did good with lunch today.. I was really craving something greasy.. and I didn't want the protein bar I brought... But I sucked it up, and bought a salad.. and ate my protein bar! I am proud...:glasses:0 -
Yayyyyyyy Kristina!! Hoo hoo! Can't wait to be in your shoes...:flowerforyou:0

Hey gang,
I am tired from shopping. The big city with cheaper items is an hour away so I only go once a month or so. I filled 2 carts up at Walmart and 1 at a large grocery store. It's almost overwhelming to me on the amount of food/product choices. And, I still have bring everything in and put it away:grumble: At least some things are big like cat liter, TP, klenex, etc. I can't wait to dig into the food.
aka - I hope your weight loss holds.
nikki - the belt sounds interesting. I have never heard of it.
blombie - you go girl. Way to put yourself first.
debra - glad you're feeling better.0 -

Its called Slimplicity. Its by a company called Reliv and they make all kinds of vitamin PACKED powder suppliments you add to a drink and take once or twice a day. They believe that most illnesses are from toxins that are in our every day lives and if people get the proper amount of vitamins, it'll help people live longer, happier lives. My mom knows a LOT of people on it who have had all kinds of body-things fixed. Athritis, a heart murmer disappeared, cancer is remission (even though she stopped chemo), a kid with MASSIVE MASSIVE allergies (seriously the kid is like a bubble-boy) who can finally get out of the house....
But thats the company....the Slimplicity is the their weight loss program. It actually comes with capsules that I'm supposed to be taking too, but I hate taking pills an hour before I eat mainly because I never know when I'm going to eat! The shake I take is less than 200 calories and fills me up. I have the chocolate flavor but it also comes in vanilla and strawberry and you add it to milk or water. I add it to milk mostly. Occasionally when I was at home I would add it to a flavored water drink (you know...you add the powder to water and it becomes strawberry banana drink...like Koolaid) Its actually really good.0 -
Morning ladies,
I like to try new things and somehow came home from the grocery store with a bag of Kale. Have you cooked with it? I found a good recipe for baked Kale that I plan to try tonight. I also saw a tasty looking vege soup recipe with Kale. I'll have to see how much is left. Maybe I will juice some tomorrow.
DH gets bonus points for yesterday. He went to the health food store and brought me an Asian Tofu Salad - I almost cant wait for lunch today. He also brought home pre-seasoned tofu strips so I can make a pita sandwich tomorrow. Diner last night was wonderful with a pasta recipe from Debra that included goat cheese and cherry tomatos - yummy. Thanks again. I tried to send a you private message but the computer wouldn't load it.
Is the slow server response driving anyone else nuts?0 -
Hey ladies! Good morning~! & a good morning it is for me! I weighed in at 224 today! originally I weighed with clothes on and I was 226, But it was bugging me, so I got nekked and weighed.. 224! Yay! Then I had an appt with housing to sign up for a 5 year plan, and they set up an escrow acct fro me, and because I have subsidy, Every time I make more money, rent goes up.. so enrolling in this program means that when my rent goes up, they put the difference into my escrow acct, and I can't touch it for 5 years.. 1 major goal was signing up for a 1st time home buyers program.. I want to own my own home, not having the state payingf my rent.. So these are the steps I am taking.
I also feel more.. energized..? Hmm, thats not really the word.. enthusiastic, maybe.. about my weight loss... Since 12-28 I have lost 14 lbs.. My nutritionist wont be happy though, cause I'm not doing it her way, but apparently my way is working, right?
& today I am going to pick up my cap & gown.. My official graduation is friday! I prolly won't go, but I'm getting the cap & gown so incase I don't go I can still take some pictures... But maybe I will go.. and go out afterwards.. Hmm.. desicions... My one really big hang up is I can't bring my kids...0 -
Pinbot: My aunt does the same.. She goes to New hampshire & gets all the tax free stuff..
Its a GREAT work out:laugh:0 -
Thanks blombie for the shake info. I like having easy meals at my disposal, and love that I have a recommendation, so i know it doesn't taste like crap...lol
Trying to stick with my diet. Reading Joy Bauer's food cures. it has some good ideas, and recipes. I made ginger pumpkin muffins yesterday, and they only have 110 calories in them, and taste yummy. I'll post the recipie if you guys want.
Also, I just want to apologize to everyone that I don't specifically write back to each person like many of you do. I would, but my brain just doesn't hold that much information ....lol.
anyhow, it's raining buckets here and Im going cabin crazy.....and having marriage problems but hey! It's a womans life right?
love and good thoughts to all!0 -

Afternoon Ladies, tried to get on earlier, but YES, the server was horrible and I gave up, went outdoors for a while, was planning on a run, but wimped out, it was only 22* out, darn weather guy told me 38*...so I decided on the elliptical and I still need to get some strength training in!
Glad that recipe worked Pinbot, I am going to try it tonight, since it's leftover night for the family...I'll try something for myself, I don't have the goat cheese, but I'll sub with something...
Nikki, that waist thing I have is made by Bally fit, it has magnets on the back of it that is suppose to help with support and pain...your right, it sure does cause you to sweat in that area, I'm going to measure and use it for a month and see where I end up. Thanks for reminding me I had it, it was in the basement and I forgot about it...
cds, I just hope that I am responding to the right person:laugh:  , sometimes my brain gets confused on me!
I love hearing how everyone is doing. When you have time, I'd be interested in the recipe, I love pumpkin and muffins....
Have a great evening0 -
Pumpkin anything sounds amazing. I would love that recipe!
Glad to hear peeps are doing well!
Pinbot, the winter green and potato casserole I made last week had kale in it and was super yummy. I haven't cooked with it before then, but I would love to find more recipes that call for it, as it's pretty yummy, and nutritious! glad you're getting all diverse with your veggie eating!
Nikki, it's so nice to hear that you're feeling motivated and energized! Doesn't it feel great?
I'm feeling pretty motivated and energized this week as well. I'm sure it's due to the jump start in the weight loss this week after that massive gain last week. I've recommitted myself to not snacking and being super accountable for everything. C25King went well last night. I was able to up my speed for the run from Sunday. I still do the 90 sec runs at 5.0, but this time, the 3 min runs instead of starting at 4.0 and upping eventually to 4.5ish, I started at 4.2, and upped to 5.0 by the last minute or so. Thursday I plan to start at 4.5! I wasn't terribly winded and the distance I'm covering continues to increase.
Had a super yummy veggie bagel sandwich for lunch today. I haven't been eating a lot of bread, so it was carby like whoa, but was so amazing! Plan is to head to the rec center today and put in an hour on the elliptical. c25k day 3 of week 3 on thursday, with friday as a rest day.
Hope all is well with my gals! So proud of all of us hanging in there! *group hug*0 -
Do you ever feel like something was meant to happen? When the mail came today, I went whoa. Somehow a magazine called Vegetarian showed up in my box - addressed to me. Did one of you send it? (just joking - but I didn't subscribe to it.) I flipped through the pages and the Kale recipe I plan to make tonight is in there. It kind of freaked me out.
Debra - try feta in place of goat cheese - they have a similar tang.0 -
Ginger Spiced Pumpkin Muffins (Joy Bauer)
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 cup fat free milk
1/2 cup canned 100% pure pumpkin
1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 teaspoon grated orange zest ( I omitted this because I was lazy...lol)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Lightly spray muffin cups (12 regular size) with nonstick spray (seriously don't use muffin tins!! I did and the muffins totally stick)
In large mixing bowl, stir together brown sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, ginger and salt.
In small bowl, beat egg for 30 seconds. add milk, pumpkin, oil and zest. Beat well. Add egg mixture to flour mixture and stir until the flour mixture is moistened.
Fill muffin cups three quarters full with batter. Bake for 15 minutes. turn muffins out onto wire rack to cool. Once cool, these freeze tightly wrapped for up to 2 months.

The Crispy Kale Leaves are delicious.
8 ounces kale cut into 3-inch pieces with tough stems removed. Add 1 TBS olive oil and toss to coat well. Spread on coated baking sheet and cook 15 min at 325. Turn Kale with tongs and bake 10 to 15 more min until edges are brown and leaves are crispy. Sprinkle with 1/4 tsp sea salt.
Per 1/3 cup serving - 66 cal, 2 G prot, 5 G tot fat (<1 sat), 5 G carb, 0 mg chol, 184 mg salt, 1 G fiber and 0 G sugar.
This made "about 8 servings"... I've had 3 already :blushing: Thankfully book club is tonight and I can take the rest there.0 -
HAHAAA, No problem, Debra..! I have been wearing it every day when I am walking to & from work.. or anywhere for that matter!0
-
Yes, Kristina, I feel amazing.. But today I am totally slacking.. I still walked to work.. But I walked sooo sloowwww.. it usually takes 20 minutes, today it took 25.. I'm real tired today.
I'm also real hungry.. &* I haven't eaten anything yet, I'm hoping this lg coffee holds me till lunch... I have been eatin CARBS!! UNBELIEVEABLY.. 3 NIGHTS INA ROW i ATE CHOP SUEY (sorry for yellin**:blushing: ) & the scale ahd me up 1 lb from yesterday...:sad:0 -
I'm scared to log it cause I'm scared it'll go up tomorrow, but I weighed myself twice this morning and I couldn't believe it. 236.8. I was 239.4 yesterday!! :noway:0

Good morning everyone,
I am in shock that next week I will complete C25K training. I pushed myself and ran the first mile (12 min) at 5.0 and then slowed it down to 4.5 mph for the last 16 min. I can run  It won't be long and you will be there too Kristina. It looks to be a nice weekend and I hope to run outside Sat for week 8 day 3.
Good luck on the weigh in everyone. Blombie - exercise hard, drink lots of water and stay away from salt today. You can do it.
cds - the pumpkin cupcakes sound good. I may have to make some.
nikki - carbs are not evil. It's okay to have some. Your body does need them. Moderation is the key. I bet you are up the pound due to salt/water retention. I may weigh myself everyday but only make the official weigh-in once a week. That way I'm seeing change over time. It is normal to fluctuate several pounds a day. When I see the scale go up, I just work harder that day to make sure it comes back down for next day.0 -
cds, thanks for the muffin recipe! I'll have to try it out
pinbot, that recipe sounds FABULOUS! I'm definitely going to have to try it out. Like, I'm totally salivating at the moment over it.
nikki, even though you're exhausted, you still walked this today, which is great! you haven't eaten yet this morning? make sure you get some breakfast in you, even if it's something small. I know I'm not a big breakfast eater, but I've heard it's much better to front load your calories in the day versus later in the day, so get some food in you!
blombie, congrats on the weigh-in! I say, if you weighed it this morning, that's totes your weight. If you go up a little, count it as water weight, or normal fluctuation. I'm seriously happy for you! keep up it sweetie!
Today should be okay. plan to c25k it this afternoon. I need to reevaluate what I'm eating today. As I planned out my meals for today, I'm significantly under calories, especially if I then work out, so I need to add something in somewhere, as I don't want to kill my metabolism. Something that is relatively healthy, but also has some more calories in it. Hrm. Maybe I'll head over to whole foods, which is just down the road from here and raid their salad bar and load up with lots of veggies and some yummy sides? it can supplement the couscous and apple I brought to eat. Though I was planning on having a salad as part of my dinner... I may be saladed out by then though. We'll see...
Hope everyone has a good Thursday! Last day before weigh-in. Anyone pumping up the cardio today in anticipation? I try to eat lighter foods and pump up the veggie intake on Thursdays as well.0 -
OK, so I won't really sweat the carbs.. & tonite were having turkey breast & brown rice..
Some one broke into my house today.. I just got a call from the BD saying that some strange guy came in through my back door..I called my landlord livid, cause if he knew he should give me a heads up (which he never does) So I called my landlord and let him have it! He then said "what are you talking bout? I never gave ANYONE the keys to your apt!!" SOOO WTFF! I am livid, and scared now.. I need to get my locks changed (& the guy who entered my house clamied to be a handy man) I don't feel safe at all! & now I'm scared for my kids!!:explode: :explode:0 -

omg I would be so scared too!! maybe you should call the police just so they have a report of it in case this isn't a one time thing. Definitely DEFINITELY get it rekeyed immediately! (did the dude have a key or was the door unlocked?) Either way...I still think I would get it rekeyed.0
