Faulty scale and/or did you have it on carpet? Apparently that can cause it to do crazy things as well. But there's no way that you gained 18 lbs overnight. It's seriously pretty much impossible. Your gut would likely explode if you ate that much food.

I had a 26 pound difference from my bathroom floor, to my rooms carpet.

    alien abduction.

i'm not sure if they abducted you or the scale though. not enough evidence.

I agree with this...abducted and impregnated with an 18 pound alien baby. Good luck!

My guess, your scale is broke.

There is no way anyone could gained 18 lbs overnight.

someone once told me that around "that time of month" a woman body holds more water, anyone know if this is true?

Yes, but....At my heaviest that was a max of 5lbs! Now down to 3ish pounds. It's the scale.

I had that problem with my scale. Turns out the floor in our bathroom is uneven. Put a ceramic tile (cheap at home depot) underneath it, and now it reads accurately every time.

Yoru scale had died. Time to invest in a better one (aka a nice digital) walmart for $30 ;)

You didn't gain 18lbs of anything- your scale is busted interally.

Either your scale is broke or you consumed 63000 calories in your sleep last night

Unless you're a sleep eater, it's gotta be the scale! LOL

    I gained 30 once....then i changed batteries!

try that. if it doesnt work your scale may be broken.

anything with an overnight 2-digit gain is faulty scale, under is water weiht.

You didn't gain that much over one night. It is just your scale, mine does the same thing. I weighed myself five different times within only a few minutes and each time it gave me five completely different measurements. Try keeping the scale on a flat surface the exact same way each time. If that doesn't work, I would consider getting a new scale.

Mind your foot position on the scale too. My old one would run 5-8 lbs different depending on feet wide or feet tight.

Are you on a water pill that you possibly forgot to take? If not it's probably your scale.

I usually retain an extra couple lbs during that week. Sounds like the OP has issues with their scale.
