crunch challenge and push up challeng March 7-May 2

Options
I have a new challenge
Lets do 100 crunches 5 days a week and add 10 more crunches each week. That means by the end you will be able to do 180 crunches. If you want to do more than do more.

I suggest doing them in sets of 4, 25 crunches each set.
25 reverse crunches
25 regular cruches
25 oblique right
25 oblique left

Good luck everyone and post your measurements on your stomach.

Right now my waist is 30 to 31 inches I ate some bread so it switches like crazy.
I forgot the push ups
Lets shoot for 50 pushups shoots push ups are hard

5 sets of 10 and add 5 each week.

You can stay away from push ups and just do the crunches. 10 crunches instead of 25

I'm in! As long as you accept sissy push-ups!

    I am in too!

However, I am only able to do 20 male push ups in a row, not 30.. Should I just do the 20 each day and try to improve from there? Maybe I'll spread it out throughout the day.

I usually do 300 sit ups every second day (along with my 2 hr work out) so I assume I should switch that up and instead of 300 every second day do 150 every day? Works for me!

I will post my tummy measurements tommrow. :)

Oblique crunches are any that involve rotation. The oblique muscles run at an angle along the sides of what most consider the "abs".
    Here are a couple variations
    1. In crunch position- pull R. shoulder to L. knee (& vice versa)
    2. Lie on back with arms straight out to your side; bring knees/hips up to about 90 degrees like sitting in a chair. Keeping legs in same form & together, try to take them across your body and tap floor with knees. *This takes a lot of core strength so only go as far as comfortable when beginning
    3. In sit-up position, do a sit up (NOT a crunch) and at the top, rotate as far as you can to one side, then back to center, then back down. Repeat to other side. This one is also great to prop your feet up at different heights as you get stronger. Ultimate challenge is to have ankles on a step so when you sit up they are hugged into your chest!
    4. Lie on your side with knees bent and crunch as far up off the floor as you can. Repeat other side.

I did it plus a few, thanks for the challenge! I did the pushups on my knees, I know its not very hard core but I could only do 1 regular style, so I guess whatever gets the job done! Will try to keep it up for the rest of the week!

    THIS IS SO HARD! :embarassed:

I didn't realize how out of shape I had become! My husband has been doing them along with me, which is a helpful motivator. 400 a day is more than I had thought, but I'm doing it...

I have been doing this since March 1. I hurt all over, but I can tell muscles are tightening. I use my yoga balls....

I usually do 3 sets of 20 each

I start with 10 min of the bike
3 sets crunches and push ups
    then 3 stes of 20 hand/arm weights

I only do this 3 days a week

and now I had to order two new bras from AVON.

You can only tighten bras so much and still, my boobs fall out.

    I was 42 DD
I just ordered 40 DD and I think those will be too big!!!!

I did my sets today. i still need to do my pushups. Well if I cant loose the weight I might as well loose the inches. We can check in everyday. And do our measurements on Friday morning. Good luck I hope we all get at least a inch lower in our waist.

Day 5 of doing 400 crunches is getting pretty exhausting! I might take a break today...

Tiangelah, you recommend a couple of days off a week, no?
    :ohwell:
I might need a day to rest those muscles...
