Everyone's entitled to their beliefs, but they should be treated like your genitalia - kept to yourself and others that want to see it.
I HAVE to steal this quote.
Religion is like a peen. It's fine if you have one but you don't get to shove it down everyone's throat.0 -
A wise person does not say "I have found THE truth", they say "I have found A truth".
Too many people of *all* beliefs, including lack thereof, forget this.
So your definition is THE definition of wise? Hmm....
Yes. Deal with it, sunshine.
*snicker*
Who pissed in your cornflakes?0 -
*scratches head*
Yeah I have nothing to add except you can't slice a demon....everyone has different beliefs and everyone just needs to respect that and not put anyone else down....and I love lamp.
I'm pretty sure my old car is possessed, btw. Lights turn on, door locks go up and down on their own... most people use to ride with me carrying a crucifix and holy water..0 -
pouring salt around you in a shape of a circle , doesn't stop them , in fact that attracts them even more

Never said you weren't. Never said your path, for you, is wrong. But just don't come to my house and tell me I'm wrong in my beliefs. That has been my point.
These forums are NOT your house. You're the one who came in this thread and started ridiculing the religious. Remember?0 -

My memory is a little slow today. Would you be a peach and remind me where I ridiculed the religious?
Because, my dear, I recall saying I had a problem with people who shove their beliefs down the throat of others. Not those who have their own beliefs. That, I respect. Everyone has their beliefs, just don't belittle mine.0 -

And in what twisted way does that equal "religious people are twitwaffles". Not once have you or anyone asked what my particular religious affiliation, or lack thereof, happens to be.
OK let me fix it:I think the real demons are here to throatfu(k us with their [SOMETHING] dogma.

Are you curious and want to know more?
Or just sarcastic and mocking?
I did not want to start out with a wall of text.
honestly curious...The questions I asked, THAT's the STORY!
"we were harassed" tells NOTHING.
What HAPPENED?
You can leave out stuff about praying and god and stuff...just tell me everything you actually saw, smelled, heard, felt, etc.
We have the capacity to feel spiritually, so that is the awareness I was describing when we got to the campsite. I ignored the feeling until....it would not be ignored. Maybe similar to being around someone you don't know, and yet, they exude something irritating or distasteful, or even frightening....and so you want to get away from them.
I actually journaled this story, and it is pages long. We each gave our perspectives, in seperate accounts.
I was awakened twice...the first time, my husband woke himself (and me) by talking. He was sleeping, but then began to speak...actually, he was answering a person who was standing outside our tent. This woke me, as well, and I thought my husband was talking to me. At the same time, another person was using a flashlight and trying to enter the tent through the zipper next to my husbands head. He was sorta confused and pushed the flashlight back with his finger. I don't know what my husband said, neither does he. Nor do we know what the other person said, but they ran off. My husband was left with the internal message, "We will be back."
At this point, I was feeling fear at level 10. I am shuddering and can hardly talk. I am NOT like this. My fear is NOT usual for me, never before, nor since. Something is very wrong, on a spiritual level. It is very "dark" and deadly. It is interfacing with the physical, and something deadly is setting up. If you won't believe God, why would you believe me? I am not trying to convince you, just tell you my experience. I had already prayed and asked God to help me, tell me what to do. I'm glad I did, because I can't even move, or speak. My husband, who up to this point knew nothing of what I was feeling, began to pray because of this. All of our children were in 2 seperate tents next to ours, but I fell asleep instead of checking on them....so very strange of me, I knew!
The next time I was awakened by my husband flopping down onto the tent bed, shaking, and trying to scream, "Help me! Help me!" But his voice only came out hoarsely, and he was balled up, shaking, sweaty. I hugged him, and he said he saw something. At this time, I actually had no fear, but I knew we were supposed to leave, right now. The prompting to leave was very, very strong. I felt I must be in slow motion compared to the urgency to leave. We threw on shoes, ripped open tents, scooped up sleeping children in their campbags, and hauled ourselves up to the car. We left the tents and everything behind for the night, sleeping in the next town.
Over time, we discussed this night, eventually writing it down. What my husband saw was a demon. He described it as the MOST frightening thing he has ever felt, literally incapacitated with fear. He was looking up and there appeared a face looking through the tent back at him, from the top of the tent. It was a face that had no individuality or personality, and it was as though there was a flap in the tent where in fact there was NOT a flap. Like it was lifting up a flap and looking in. My husband leaped up to punch the face, but only made contact with tent fabric, then fell back on the bed in a ball of fear. After that he ripped open the tent door and stuck himself halfway out looking around for "whoever" that was. Of course, no one was there.
We did return the next morning and moved our tents to another site close to the camp host. We reported the unwanted physical visitors. I had no fear the rest of the days/nights we were up there.
And since then I have thought about the event, how vulnerable I felt for me and my family. As a result of the experience, I actually have a much greater sense of protection. We've been camping repeatedly since then, and I know He watches over me. I am not afraid.0 -
"There's a devil waiting outside your door (How much longer) Bucking and braying and pawing the floor Well, he's howling with pain and crawling up the walls There's a devil waiting outside your door He's weak with evil and broken by the world He's shouting your name and asking for more There's a devil waiting outside your door"

Geez. I hope you don't hallucinate a demon and slice up the mailman. :frown:0 -

"Twisted" way? Well, I interpreted that to be," people who discuss religious dogma are demons". And because I'm religious and often share my views when asked, I may have taken it in a way you did not intend.
In addition, we agree about bible thumping. I believe it's counterproductive to shove religion down others' throats. I further believe we should respect each other's religious beliefs, or lack of, but I don't really find your initial comment respectful.0 -

ok, so demons carry flashlights, you never saw anything, and your husband had a nightmare.

Indeed, that seems to be the case. I've seen you in the forums, and you've always been the voice of reason regarding religious topics. In addition, we agree about bible thumping. I believe it's counterproductive to shove religion down others' throats. I further believe we should respect each other's religious beliefs, or lack of, but I don't really find your initial comment respectful.
Right or wrong, it wasn't supposed to be respectful - towards *anyone* shoving religion or what have you.

Why do you have to be so dismissive of other people's experiences? There's a reason I didn't share MY experience on this particular thread. Because of people like you who take what someone went through and mock.
Whether or not you believe things happened, you weren't THERE. Based on her story you can know very little about what happened, you can only infer. Your failure is in your absolute belief that you can judge a situation based on a story on the internet.
Please stop being a jerk. For your good and for the good of all mankind.0 -

What about you, do you believe in demons, and what would you do if you saw one?
to believe in demons would mean believing in god also, and I don't, so I guess "no".
I believe in ghosts of humans though, since there's no heaven, and I don't think we all just go "poof", yeah, we might hang out here invisible. If I saw one I would try to interact.
Oh, so many times as a teen I tried to summon SOMEthing through a ouija board, and one time the planchard went flying and one time the lights went out, but I'm not wholly convinced.0 -

I like you but I have to say that every time you post I giggle because MFP is cutting your name off.
Worshipthekin... Hee. Hillbillies do that I hear?
Sorry! Bad joke. Bad timing. I'll be good now I swear. (Too bad MFP doesn't have enough space to display your username properly though)1
