No one can look at my cell phone or my computer without asking. I find it incredibly rude and violation of privacy. I don't even have anything to hide. No idea why I'm so possessive.

I don't have any kids so that's not an issue. With regards to my husband I don't hide anything from him. He knows the password to my screen lock on my phone and knows all the ring tones that I use for my friends. If I get a text or a call and I'm not around he'll answer them. I have no issue with that. Same with his phone. Since some people he deals with for his business call him on his cell if I hear it ring I'll run out and answer it.

I also know pretty much all of his passwords on things and vice versa.

I don't have a lock on my phone. My husband can look anytime he wants. He just doesn't. He is afraid of the smartphone. My husband doesn't have a smartphone but sometimes he will ask me to check his text messages for him. He has no problem with me taking his phone when mine is charging.

When my kids are old enough for phones I know I will have access, especially if I am paying for it. I know kids who have really gotten into a lot of trouble that they could have been helped with if only their parents could access their facebook, phone, computer whatever.

I see a need for increased freedom as kids get older. I need to know they are using that freedom responsibly. After all their brains aren't fully developed yet.

I'm single. Thusly no one should be looking at my phone unless I've died and they're trying to delete the sext & porn before my parents find it.

Well said, same goes for me.

Right now...I'm the only one that looks at it. And I like it that way.

My kids are always taking it and my husband asks me to use the Internet but don't help ourselves to each others phone. And I would like it to stay that way. Please and thank you.

Anyone can look at my phone.... after they pry it from my cold dead hands.
I believe in privacy and I would never even ask to look at anyone else's and therefore would never let anyone go through my on. It's tantamount to going through someone's mail or private journal. I am currently developing an app for my phone to whipe everything off of it if they enter the password wrong 10 times. =)

    Only me.
There's too much in there: pictures, text messages, etc. It would be an invasion of privacy for someone to go through it.

This had to put a PIN lock on mine so that my kids would stay out of my business:noway:

If my boyfriend asked I would let him have a look - but he understands that I have a real need for privacy and my own space (growing up in a family of 11 does that to you). With anyone else nooo way - I keep most of my app's open and I don't want them looking at my period tracker, personal diary, or My Fitness Pal

No one has access but me and it's password protected. When my son is of the age to have a cell phone, you better believe I will have full access.

I saw a nurse app for hospitals to track diaper changes and what color the poo was inside of it (bloody, green, etc). Now that would be an app to leave open for others to see on your phone.

My daughter is 14 and does not have a phone. She was, however, using the third line I got for our home (for when hubs and I go out and leave her home to babysit). I found her sneaking and texting *gasp* a BOY....and she had been deleting all the history and covering things up by changing names in the contacts. I was devastated, truth be told, because she has always been such a *good* girl. Oh well, she's growing up...hormones and all that crap. Anyway, I disabled the texting and other than that, it's not a smart phone so *sticks tongue out* to her.

As for my husband - his is open and out and I'm invited to look at it whenever I want. I do, occasionally, since we've had some "history" and trust issues. Mine is also available to him, although I lock it (he knows the code), because I don't want my kids picking it up and scrolling through and seeing those special pictures mommy takes for daddy. Heh.

Aside from him - NOBODY betta be looking at my phone. Unless they wanna see a whole lot off TnA in their face. ;)

I ask my husband to answer my phone and answer back texts for me all the time when I'm doing something else. He always has me text back on his when he's driving. I have the password to his Facebook and he has mine. He never goes on mine but he could if he wanted. I go on his to send myself balls for Slingo LOL. That's the one Facebook game I actually play. Anyway, I think it's a good thing to be open. I don't know why you wouldn't want your long term SO looking at your phone or Facebook unless there was stuff on there you didn't want them to see.

As for your children, I definitely think you should be able to look at their phones, especially if you are footing the bill. If they are paying their own bill, now that's a different story.

I had all the bells and whistles on our phones but due to nasty pics and messages ppl send out, I got rid of all the bells and whistles and got basic phones with basic service. You dont have anything to hide and no temptations or secrets this way. I am old fashion! We dont even use facebook, twitter, etc....

I check up on my daughter’s phone, I don’t need her phone to do it, or even be in the same part of the country, I do it remotely from a PC, and anyone with the right knowledge can see what is on a phone even if it has been deleted. Everything from what and where the text/call/download was made/sent, up to and including long deleted voice and text messages.

Well, I'm one of those nasty people who does nasty things on their phone... but even I have to give you a high five for not using facebook or twitter. I hate those sites/apps. Facebook and twitter are ruining civilization. As soon as a news show says "now to what's happening on twitter-," I change channels.

Maybe you should stop sending "text massages" ;)
