The Twilight vampires aren't vampires... they're the illegitimate children of David Bowie and Anne Rice.

Now that I got that off of my chest... the two best vampires ever - Dracula (from the eponymous novel, of course), and Carmilla (Le Fanu's novel is subtly creepy and alluring at the same time). All other vampires worship at the undead feet of these two.

2) Must not have contrived, arbitrary reasons why they can't have sex.

Colin Farrell in the Fright Night remake.
He is the first Vampire i have seen to have the thought that if he can't get invited into your house, well he'll just go grab an axe, cut the gas line and blow the whole house up instead. I was giggling uncontrollable at how completely crazy Farrell was.

I was pleasantly surprised by the remake. Really enjoyed it. Farrell did a great job.
