    The Twilight vampires aren't vampires... they're the illegitimate children of David Bowie and Anne Rice.

    Now that I got that off of my chest... the two best vampires ever - Dracula (from the eponymous novel, of course), and Carmilla (Le Fanu's novel is subtly creepy and alluring at the same time). All other vampires worship at the undead feet of these two.

    Criteria:

    1) Must act their age. For example, a vampire who is 500 years old must be exponentially more intelligent, cultured, and mature than a normal human.

    2) Must not have contrived, arbitrary reasons why they can't have sex.


    ... So yeah, that pretty much rules out everything.
