Most of us go to gym to work on ourselves, right? With that in mind, constant grunting and throwing around of equipment falls in the same category as telling your girlfriend what you think of her stink-*kitten* other friend while eeeeeverybody can hear.

It's just something that's Too Much Information. I really don't want to think about YOUR burst nut while trying to work on MY routine.

THIS ^^^ I'm glad SOMEONE understands where I am coming from

Rack your weights properly - put them back where you found them!! NOT THAT HARD!!!

Be courteous to other members, especially with machine use, i.e don't sit down on a bench and talk on the phone for 10 minutes, or wait 20 minutes between your sets.

For the most part, the people at my gym are pretty cool. I don't mind the grunting and weight-dropping ... kinda makes me laugh. But these are my pet peeves. Don't leave your weights on the barbells. It's rude.

And seriously, I've seen guys who are taking naps on the leg press, and just the other day, a guy was at the seated row TEXTING for 10 minutes while I was waiting. I asked very nicely if he would share and his response "I've got one more set and then it's yours". Really, 10 minutes texting and you won't get your *kitten* off the seat so others can use the equipment?!!!!

If you have to DROP the weight, or throw the weight down, it is too damn heavy. When I hear stuff crash to the floor after a gut wrenching grunt, I kinda want to look around and see who is dying on the floor.

Or maybe the weights were not to heavy and he/her is just pushing themselfs and pushed his/her threshold to the max kind of like your supposed to do to when you lift weights to create muscle trama and muscle fatigue thus causing him/her to not have the energy to gently set them down as to not upset the nannies in the gym who think he/she is lifting to heavy in a public gym mind you.

[biting tongue to prevent turning into the grammar police]

I totally understand about pushing your limits and creating muscle trauma. That doesn't mean that you can't dial it down a few lbs and not grunt THAT loud, or throw it down on just about every rep. AND, I shouldn't have to worry about flying/rolling dumbbells as I am walking through the gym...

    Sorry I interrupted your reading

what is THAT supposed to mean? The run on sentence and grammar issues make my head hurt.

I have only been lifting for a few months, but even when I am breaking a PR, and leg pressing more than my body weight, I don't grunt like I am giving birth to a weight plate.

Leg pressing more than your body weight? Okay.... Just FYI: That's not very much haha. I leg press 4 times my body weight. Revisit the post about deadlifting twice your body weight. Or squatting 1.5 times your body weight.

Hello i remember watching videos of gold gym when arnold and the great legends use to workout there was no messing arround i watch videos now of Gym there are so many rules and regulations. you cant groan. you cant drop dumbbells. you cant I mean is it a GYM or a library. Gym dont have barbells but they have the latest treadmil elipetical i mean dear god where is the hardcore proper barbell dumbbells and chalk mess on the floor LOL and TV in the gym always playing POP justin beiber sorry i come to workout not watch justin beiber or nicki minaj.

    whats ur opnion
    It's simple.

That business model is dead. The gyms of today are not about working out, they are about socializing. Catching up with friends, yapping on the cell phones, and tweeting.... all from the safety of your cardio machine.

my gym is hardcore brah, my buds sit on my back as i do my calf raises.

I always wanted to find a guy to sit on me for donkey calf raises... Such an awkward exercise, but it looks like so much fun. Would break the boredom of stupid calf exercises.

The rules in the gym are about being respectful of other people. Hearing a barbell drop crash to the floor is not just loud, the shock of the sound can disturb the concentration of other lifters. You are not the only person in the room! Some jerk dropped his enormous dumbell on the floor when I was doing an over head press, startled me, and I almost dropped the barbell on my head. There's no need for that noise, and if you need, build your own home gym and do whatever you want.
Disturb the concentration of other lifters? Come again?

I asked a random female to do it. She agreed and it was great fun.... then she got on my back.

i never notice when i'm actually lifting. it's when i'm not actually working out, but i definitely notice them when i'm in the floor below in the locker room. it's like another angel got it wings.

Come on, bro. After 15 sets of bench presses and 20 sets of biceps curls, I'm too wasted to pick up weights.

My opinion is you need to go to the gym....you'll get more out of it than just watching a video of other people at the gym.

    I do go the GYM
