Good morning beautiful ladies:flowerforyou:
Cheryl Yes, get rid of those size 12s!!!!! I have on occassion gotten a bit panicky as I was packing up clothes, thinking what if I need these again.....I don`t want to have to buy new clothes in a bigger size...again..then I realize that I will never need them, I have MFP and all my Vit. F`s to keep me in line. I plan on getting to my goal and being like Barbie and Amanda!!!
Lila Sounds like you had a great time bowling, even if you`re like me...not good:laugh: !!! Hope you have a fun time shopping and find everything you want with ease! Dressing a cat:laugh: , I tend to think that would be harder than dressing a dog. Noel wiggles a lot and sometimes the velcro gets stuck in her fur:noway:  , she doesn`t like that . I think her Christmas dress just pulls on over her head, now if I can only find it:grumble: . Stay safe on the roads!!!
Michele Whew...I got tired just reading about all you`re doing...you`re my hero:flowerforyou: ! I don`t think you could pack anymore into a day! I think you and Barbie get the prize for being the most active!
The sunrise is absolutely beautiful this morning red, pink and purple! What is that saying..."red sky in the morning, sailors take warning". We are suppose to have rain later today, and then the temp drops again:frown: . I`m spending the day at home today and hopefully will have my home presentable by the end of the day:bigsmile: !!!! I think I`ll look in that mess in my closet and see if I put Noels dress in there, it`s a black velvet dress, I thought it would look so cute on her with her red bows and red toenails!
Meg and everyone else in the path of the blizzard...stay safe and warm!!!!
Good morning to you too Colleen:happy: !
Have a wonderful day ladies! Drink your water:drinker: :drinker: :drinker: and log your food!!!
Hugs,
DeeDee0 -
Good morning everyone,
stay safe in your weather, and have a good day!0 -
Forgot to say I hit my December weight goal! Still have to even start the exercise goal, it has been that kind of month - marking butt stuck in chair...but after Friday, should be free to be me! Maybe I will trim the tree!0

We checked out fitness places yesterday and came home thinking we'll put our bike trainer to use. The bottom line is not one of the places looked like fun. I want to have fun getting fit, otherwise ti is drudgery. I loved horseback riding and intend to get back to it asap. So walking, yoga, "riding" the trike in the garage are on the to do list. I'm wondering about the wii zumba stuff and would appreciate advice from those who've used it. We have a wii. We enjoy wii bowling. Is zumba an additional program to buy?
The pounds are coming off, and I'm amazed how easily this is happening. We're logging our food and staying under the line most of the time. After I'd given birth to baby number two I went on a diet and lost all the weight, plus extra. It was hard going. Over time the weight came back because I never really changed my lifestyle. I deprived myself into slimness and then reverted to eating with the family. This time, we're doing it together and not eliminating anything we like. We're just counting calories and budgeting what we'll eat in a given day. I feel like we've been given a new lease on life, and a new set of online friends to help us. Thank you for the Vitamin F, advice and support.0 -
G' morning from rainy, rainy, blustery Portland. :flowerforyou: It sure doesn't look like I'll get to walk the dogs without wearing every single layer of gear that I own today. I'm rather glad I saved the raincoat that's big enough for two of me now, as I can wear it over my regular parka and stay relatively dry while out running around the park later. I'll look like a whale, but that's ok, no one will be able to see my face under headband, hat and hood anyway.
Started up again this week with yoga and strength training, crunches and push ups. Also spent most of the week trying to avoid cookies and chocolates. I gave in a few times, not terribly bad. Today I'll cut my one piece of chocolate into 4 small squares, set them on a plate, admiring how cute they are just sitting there, then as I pop one in my mouth at a time I'll remember that each tiny piece tastes every bit as good as the whole piece would. Plus, I get to have 4! Ahh, simple pleasures.
Woke up this morning singing "My Fitness Pal, My Fitness Pal" to the tune of "O, Christmas Tree". I don't know what's the matter with me, lol. If I come up with the new lyrics, I'll be sure to post them later.
Hope everyone has a wonderful Thursday.

Good morning, everyone – wow, how fast has this month gone by already? Today I’m thinking back to around 2009 when I flew out to Colorado to see my daughter graduate from college, and then a week later watched as a blizzard blew in, preventing the rest of the family from being there to watch DD and her BF sign their marriage documents (in person). Their anniversary is actually tomorrow – of course, only DD would have her marriage coincide with the collapse of the world . I’m sending a universal shout-out to my SIL, who has been eternally patient and understanding of my intrusion and desire to be involved in their lives. They are a great pair.
Yesterday was simply a lost day for me. I didn’t do any working out with the exception of taking the trash out, and I just ate junk all day. It was ridiculous. I don’t know what was going on, if I was feeling lonely, neglected, stressed – or just indulgent. Anyway, that was yesterday, today is today, and I’m back. I did 90 minutes of yoga first thing this morning, made a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, and the cookies are a thing of the past. Now I’m on a seven-hour implementation call – yay! I may be listening and wrapping at the same time. DH gets home at some point either today or tomorrow – I hope the weather doesn’t prevent his flight. I hope everyone in the Midwest is staying warm and dry (and have food!).
Amanda, I was in London during the holiday season one year – it does indeed get crazy the closer to Christmas you get! Remember, one person at a time. And take your breaks!
Katla – apple pie . . . fruit, carbs, sounds like a decent breakfast to me. Good luck deciding on a gym.
Viv, we’ve missed you! Your gifts sound lovely – I’m sure the recipients are going to love them. I hope you enjoy your rejuvenation time. I totally understand how easy it is to lose motivation once you’ve taken a break. I can always think of a reason not to – but all it takes is just starting, then going on as you have gone. One foot in front of the other . Vitamin F: Friends!
Meg, I hope you get everything sorted out for the next semester, teachers and students alike.
JaneM, how kind of you to hand out scarves! That’s wonderful. Keep moving!
Lin, Good luck getting your budget done – it sounds like you’re really staying on top of year-end clearing out. I love that you’re stocking up on veggies for the storm lol .
Robin, I’m so sorry the holidays bring about sorrowful memories. Guilt is a terrible thing – motivating and yet such a stressor. I hope you can forgive yourself – it’s a gift that will last a lifetime.
Barbie, I woke up this morning with a sore lower back (probably from HIIT a couple of days ago) – I did my yoga and about half-way through the pretzel twists my back was properly stretched out and no longer sore. It does help. Congrats on three days!
SueB, I hope your stomach clears up soon. It seems like everyone and their brother is suffering from some sort of bug. Even DH has been laid up (while on travel no less!) with the flu. Take care of yourself.
Annie, I love that you have a walking group! Accountability is motivating too. I have another friend who is posting her cake on FB – she had just put the marzipan over it yesterday. Must be the time.
Gail, I do the same thing at the store too! I don’t like it when the cashiers comment on my purchases though. I wish they wouldn’t. I don’t mind answering questions on how to cook something, but I kind of don’t like it when it feels like they’re judging me for whatever reason.
Michele, I’m trying to figure out the HR thing. I’m genuinely curious – a number of people on my FB group have really high heart rates (like way up in the 190s!), but mine is really low (between 70 and 155). I just don’t get it. My heart feels like it’s going to beat out of my chest if it’s in the 150s. I can’t even imagine what 190 must be like. My coach says some people just have different baselines. I agree with you too about the changing things up – I just commented this morning to my group that I’m noticing a loss of a layer of fat over my ribs, my forearms are slimming out (and they’re not fat to begin with, but I’m seeing those ropey muscles now), I can feel solid muscles in my legs and butt without that loose fat layer – it’s all a big change, and it’s coinciding (quickly) with a change in routine. Maybe the kids can help with the popcorn once they get there?
Cheryl, yes, throwing away a half-bag of chips totally counts! I threw away the rest of the Mike and Ikes yesterday – after eating a handful. Good thing it was trash day and I was cleaning out everything!
Lila, how lovely to enjoy Christmas roses at the office. It’s great that someone is watching out for people’s diets. You’re a great neighbor too – stay warm and dry with all that snow.
Texasgal, yes, it’s a brand-new day indeed. It sounds like yours was even washed clean lol .
Eileen, a lot of HRMs and units like fitbit will show an estimate of calories burned. It’s a good way to keep track – just remember to subtract your “base” calories, with MFP already accounts for.
DeeDee, Yes!!! Stay on track, get to your goal, no going back! Forward, onward, ho! (No, I’m not calling you names lol ) Our sunrise this morning was amazing too. I looked out and though “now, how does it go: Red sky at dawn, sailors be . . . gone – yes, storm on the way.” We’re expecting weather tomorrow. Noel will look adorable – post pics if you can!
BJ, you stay safe too. Congratulations on your hitting your goal weight for the month!
jb, I have a very funny image in my mind of you running around the park in your gear. Enjoy your "simple pleasures" lol.
So, I think I mentioned that DH has been in bed while in Flagstaff with the flu, poor guy. He swears he caught it from hugging one of our neighbors in the store the other day. I just hope I don’t catch it – that’s all DD and I need is for me to drag in another bug for little DGD – and for me to have my very first illness of the season while I’m trying to see them. Tomorrow we’re having Christmas dinner with the kids here – and then I’m off for vacation. I’m taking my dvds with me in case I don’t get enough exercise else-wise, but mainly I hope to relax and enjoy my family. {{{hugs}}} to all my friends here – you’ve been a great support for me this year!
Cheers,
M.0 -
Happy Thursday...sunny here in Denver:glasses: after yesterdays snow storm,
I've been MIA for awhile haven't caught up with the posts and only stopping in to say HI:flowerforyou:
I've caught a cold (don't remember when I last had one) so it's chicken soup for me. Work has been crazy busy and since i'm not feeling well I came in late today and will leave early.
Hoping everyone is well and doing great on their Holiday Choices, make wise choices and drink plenty of water:drinker:
My ticker is off my chart as I now have a full #5 to play with over the holidays after the first of the year I will see where I stand and whether or not I need to make some adjustments. In the meantime all my holiday clothes fit and I finally am wearing some things that have been in my closet for over 10 years just waiting for my body to fit into them.
Have a good day, keep logging your food, your exercise and drinking plenty of water:drinker:
Give a smile to those around you:flowerforyou:

Hey, y'all!
The Season of Lights and Peace and Joy is definitely rolling along! Hope you take a little time to be still, and remember the Reason for the Season.
jb, i LOVED your post about waking up SINGING " mfp, mfp" to the tune of "O Christmas Tree".
since i am mourning the fact that i am NOT in charge of any Christmas Concerts this year ( i am an elementary music specialist currently on med leave), i felt inspired to come up with some lyrics for your little tune. bear in mind, i do NOT profess to be a songwriter NOR a lyricist; hopefully someone ELSE will come up with a BETTER verse than mine!
My Fitness Pal, My Fitness Pal,

hey Laura, good to hear that Denver was sunny; hope you are getting over that cold
Janie, I don't think I could top verse 1; you did good! I didn't sing it like Lin
Jane, keep warm and wish you success with those blankets
mwheatcraft54 ♥♥♥♥ this too!
I'm not having much success with my daily plans - life keeps getting in the way. We found a part of our fence down from the high winds last night. Marie, it howled over here as I suspect it did in Mesquite.
Planning to watch the Country Music Christmas tonight; maybe I can catch up on the gift wrapping at the same time. I did say maybe. Peace to all and to all a good night!0 -
You guys are great. Thanks for cheering me on. Tomorrow if the first two digits on my scale are '15' I am throwing out the 12s too per your advice DeeDee.
Love the MFP lyrixs. I could totally add to them (I'm good at rhyming) but I can't remember how Christmas tree goes so I'm not sure I'd get the meter right.
Well, I am going to wrap presents. Keep tuned on whether I enter the world of the 150's in the morning. From the 180's to the 150's in 5 months - not the fastest loss in the world - but slow and steady.0 -

I'll not get that song out of my head. Love the new verses. You girls are such fun. Had my last party today and I'm so glad. For the first few, I did really well but it seems like my will power is slipping.
I agree Michelle and Barbie have to be the most involved people on the thread. I can hardly read what all they do without getting tired.
I'm taking my computer with me this trip so I can get to the thread EVERY day. I made 6 batches of peanut brittle for friends and neighbors today so I'm tired of standing. Also pickup up 125 lbs of pecans. We had strong winds all night and most of today so the nuts are everywhere. Hope everyone will take deep breaths and relax for a new minutes everyday.0 -
Katla~ LOVE your verse!
hope you wouldn't mind me tweaking the end of it to fit the meter better-- " spread health around the world".

Rebel - I posted about the vitamin F. I thought it was just really neat and wanted to share
texasgal - we have to root for the #18 M&M car since Vince retired from Mars. I must say, tho, that I like the colors on the car. That's how I determine which car to root for -- which has the most color. We have a cardboard cutout of Elliott downstairs. Vince got it when he worked at Mars.
Cheryl - good for you throwing half that bag of potato chips away! I do that a lot of time, especially when you get free samples in stores. I may take a bite of something and then throw the rest away.
Did 50 minutes of a band workout DVD today. Will do speed intervals tomorrow.
I have to leave to drop off those bags, then go to crochet, then the crochet lunch, then I'll probably stop at one food store on my way home. Last night at bowling one man gave me the secret santa mahjongg gift. She got me a cookbook and 2 DVD's. I'm thinking that I'll return one of the DVD's. I have an abs DVD that I never use. However, the other one is a pilates DVD and I was planning to do pilates Sun so now I can try a new DVD. My water was decent yesterday, so of that I'm happy.
bjmcq - congrats on making your goal! That's awesome
Went to the last crochet class today then to this one lady's house for lunch. Had 2 spanikopitas, a spinach bruchetta, she had these chicken salad sandwiches on a croissant, I just ate the chicken salad. I'm surprised how little chicken salad there was but there was so much croissant. She'd bought them at the store. I brought a zucchini chocolate bread with me and another lady brought this red velvet cake. You could tell it was a box mix with that frosting that's from a can. You know, it just didn't taste good to me. Guess I'm getting to be somewhat of a foodie, I like things homemade. Then went to Old Navy since they sometimes have cute holiday shirts but didn't find anything, then went to do a little food shopping.
Came home and cut up the fudge I'd made for tomorrow. You know, when we had the bowling lunch, this lady told us that she'd made this fudge (I didn't have any). I don't know how she could have cut it so neatly. My fudge, while good tasting, is anything but real smooth on top, there are places where it's a bit thicker; also, when I went to cut it up, not every piece was the exact same size. I have a feeling that she didn't make it, she bought it and put it on another plate. Oh, I forgot to say that my dessert was pineapple. Someone brought pineapple, that's what I ate.
M - you're right, holidays can be such a stressful time. I know that last year I got my period (after having gone something like 11 months without one) and lately my breasts are feeling tender, as if I were going to get my period. Hope I don't, because that'll be 1 year that I haven't had it. Vince and I just put the popcorn on the tree. I honestly hope that this doesn't mean that he wants to keep the tree up long. I'd like to have it down by the middle of January. I understand that this year was different, he wasn't feeling well and then he had the gout. We didn't even decorate outside. But there still aren't ornaments on the tree. Don't know if he's done his wrapping or not. Speaking of heartrates, my problem is that my HR comes down so fast I have to keep working to keep it up. Once I went for a stress test and the nurse couldn't get over how fast my HR came down. Enjoy your dinner and vacation!
Janie - lovely, lovely, lovely song
jb - amazing!!!!!
Janie and jb - I can't tell you how your renditions warmed my heart
Well, it's getting late, better get to bed. Hope everyone has a great evening.
Michele0 -
jb-- you're determined to keep me up all night, aren't you? ::laugh:
here's a "drink your d_*%&# water" verse: (same tune- O Tannebaum or Oh Christmas Tree)
O Fitness Pal, My Fitness Pal,
I HATE to drink the water!
O Fitness Pal, My Fitness Pal,
I know I really OUGHTA.....
To flush my bod of sodium,
and extra carbs, and fats I've done,
O Fitness Pal, My Fitness Pal,
I wished I LIKED the water!
i think that's enough for now....
in the meantime, JANIE HEFFINGTON~~~ DRINK YOUR WATER!!! :grumble: :grumble: :drinker: :drinker: :drinker: :laugh:0 -
Ok, Janie, to the same tune...
O Janie, dear, release your fear
Of plain old, stupid water.
It's not so bad, just gulp it down
I'm telling you, you oughter!
It's good for you, never severe,
It's free of fat, and everclear!
O Janie, dear, O Janie, dear,
I'm telling you, you oughter!
Everclear! HHAHAHA omg dying here:laugh:0 -
Love the song verses! I'm just laughing and laughing at those water ones. Sooo cute. Eileen0

Still having a good lil chuckle here! Gosh, we all sure needed some good laughs tonight, how fun. Wonder what I'll wake up singing tomorrow. Jingle Bells, Fitness Pals, losing all the wayyy....0
