My husband has told me that he thinks I am beautiful all the time and that makes it ok not to say it randomly or in specific situations when I have gotten all dolled up for something. It's like he doesn't see me. I definitely want it, need it, and don't get it near enough. So no, I don't really believe that he thinks I am, but *I* very often think I look hot, so how I feel about myself is not dependent on what he thinks. He's oblivious.0

Every morning my boyfriend sends me a text, "Good morning Gorgeous"... when we are together, even if we aren't getting along, he will say "Ok beautiful".0 -
My husband tell me I'm beautiful/gorgeous/hot/sexy every day. He has since we first started dating almost 13 years ago.
Some days I may not believe him, and some days I know he's right.
He has told me this at every weight, every age, every stage he has shared with me. He is my rock!0 -
I do enjoy hearing a sincere compliment ... and hopefully that is what it is ... even from a stranger. Sexy from a guy on the street? Not. A man (or a woman for that matter) taking a second look and saying 'you are a very pretty (beautiful, lovely, etc.) woman', or 'you look great today' is really nice and a confidence booster. Not required to make or break my sense of self, but it's nice. I had one guy that used 'delicious' frequently ... but meant nothing sexual by it ... that one made me laugh. 'You look delicious today!' Too funny! Anyway, I don't think you are wasting your time ... I actually make it a practice to compliment both men and women on their looks daily. When people work hard ... and it's obvious ... as in working out, putting on makeup, fixing hair, etc., I think they deserve some sort of recognition ... but it's always an honest compliment.0

I'm the same way. Tell me when the mood strikes you and you just have to say it. Youll melt me. tell me all the time just weirds me out. My tollerance for 'mush' is very low. Lol0 -
really don't want to hear cute...my 9 y.o. is cute...0
-
It is always welcomed to hear but when you don't have someone telling you that for a while and then someone does...it can be hard to believe. It's not a waste of time!0

Do men like being called Handsome, Good Looking, or Sexy Beast? We're humans and humans like to be complimented. If not, there wouldn't be 100 new threads on here asking people to rate them, would they "do them", etc.0
-
Not from random people, no.
Speak for yourself. Sometimes a compliment is just a compliment with no underlying motive. Personally I like when strangers tell me I'm lovely - it throws me for a loop and really brightens my day.
THIS^^ :happy:0 -
It would be nice to hear these words, sometimes.0
-
I guess I don't mind compliments if they are sincere lol0

Depends on the location and situation. Not that I've heard anything like that in ages myself. Although I sent a pic of my new CFM shoes to a girlfriend and she said "Even your foot looks skinny now...sexy shoes!" and that was pretty nice to hear. It's certainly not something I'm used to.0
-
I do, but it depends on the tone.0

i like hearing im beautiful, hot sexy and cute don't really phase me.
I still remember the first time my ex called me beautiful.... i just woke up and was at his house, didnt have any makeup with me or hair products and i did the best i could with what little i had. I was sitting on his couch watching tv with him and i looked over to see him just staring at me, i asked what was up and he whispered that i was the most beautiful person he's ever met.
It still shocks me as im used to wearing makeup all the time and i couldnt help but blush beet red
SCORE!!!!0 -
Yup, I enjoy it. I smile, and I say thank you.
However, if I tell you I am married, please do not continue to hit on me.
I would get compliments, then it usually follows with, "are you happy in your marriage?" and other crap like that.
That gets annoying! What type of skank am I to cheat on my husband?0 -
I love hearing it.. and not just from my husband. I love the compliments.
My hubs is ok with it because he knows I come back to his bed at night and keep his bread buttered.0 -
I like to hear it! even if people don't mean it...
I.E. I was in the Dominican Republic about 2 years ago... All the shop owners first say how beautiful all the ladies are, then offer them a free cheapy necklace for their beautiful neck... Now... We all knew this was just a ploy to get us in their shop... but we still didn't mind it! Just sayin'0 -
Yep, from anyone. I guess I'm just too naive to immediately assume a stranger is taking the time to lie to me.
I get cute and adorable lots, mostly from husband. I don't mind it at all. I'm not a super serious person, if someone called me beautiful and sophisticated, it would be hella weird.0 -
I like to hear it from my husband because he thinks it is all true. I don't think women want to hear it from someone that isn't sincere but if you sincerely think that tell her often.0
-
Love to hear it! Bring it on (and send a memo to my hubby)!0
-
I agree with the 'only if it's genuine'. I love to hear my boyfriend say things like that randomly. He may be having one of those moments where he's thinking in his head, always glad to hear him share it with me
YEAH THIS FOR ME0 -
Coming from a shy person such as myself, it takes courage to compliment a woman. From me anyways, it IS sincere0
-
YES - from the man that we love. It's only a waste of time it's coming from a random person.0
-
I like hearing that I am beautiful or pretty. Not a fan of being called cute or adorable.0
-
I like hearing it even though I don't always believe it.
My boyfriend always tells me I'm beautiful, cute, sexy, gorgeous, etc....
For a while he got tired of using those words and would start using other words like ravishing, stunning, dazzling, striking, amazing, elegant, lovely, exquisite, etc.... :blushing:
I adore him.0 -
I'll agree with the others who've said those words are appreciated if they come from the person you love. If you're a friend or even a stranger, it's better to tell us we look great, or something similar to that. A coworker told me that the other week and I'm STILL glowing from the compliment. If he'd used "Beautiful" or "cute", etc - it would have been awkward and weird. "Great" was the perfect compliment!0
-
I cant stand it when s stranger says it to me. i find it kind of rude. It makes feel better when it is from someone I know. At that point it means something.0
-
I love to hear it. After 27 years of marriage I still think it is important to SAY it and often. It goes both ways for the guy as well as the lady.0
-
From randoms? Not at all...From my bf? Absolutely and I believe that he really means it when he says it, that whole beauty is in the eye of the beholder thing
ETA: I make a point to tell him how cute, hot, wonderful, etc, I think he is also0 -
Yes I do.
Whether I believe it or not depends who's saying it and how.0
