Wild Horses by Rolling Stones. My mother used to sing it to me while playing it on the guitar when I was young.

Have you heard the cover by The Sundays? You might like it even more, especially since your mother sang it.

In the living years - mike and the mechanics

    I wasn't there that morning
    When my Father passed away
I didn't get to tell him
All the things I had to say

I think I caught his spirit
    Later that same year
I'm sure I heard his echo
In my baby's new born tears
I just wish I could have told him in the living years

  • Dear Mama - Tupac
Song from Prince of Egypt - When you Believe
Song from Fighting Temptations - The one they sing at the Gospel singing challenge at the end of the movie. For some reason, this song gets me crying the ugly, snotty cry!

    "Beam Me Up" by P!nk
    "Who Knew" by P!nk
    "Dream On" by Aerosmith
    "Shimmer" & "Hemorrhage" by Fuel

    those are a few.

Gosh I got emotional at the mention of Pink's Who Knew. Had to listen to it! And Fuel's Shimmer, forgot about that one. Both big emotion driven songs for me.

anything with bagpipes-- tear right up-- my kids make fun of me, my 10 yo likes to put bagpipes on in the house just to mess with me... little b@strd.

Yep...bagpipes. What is it about that??? It gets me everytime too. Ugh! :-)

The National Anthem. Oh, especially if it is sung simply like it was written. Chills.

    Also, Frank Sinatra's My Way.

I agree with the original poster...the soundtrack for Forrest Gump gets me. The opening song on Hoosiers gets me too.

Somnus by Yoko Shimomura. INCREDIBLE vocals towards the end
  • "Don't Take the Girl"

Whenever it comes on the radio I have to turn the station.

This one kills me, but also "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders, makes me realize every time how lucky I am to have my older sister in my life.
