The world has gone effin insane!
No, just the USA.
I hope that was a (bad) joke.
Otherwise, I want to hear more about this bubble in which you live.
Seriously, this isn't about whose Country is better, Just drop it. We don't need this to turn into an argument. Please.0 -
Multiple shooters , WTF
They are saying there were 2 other guys found hiding at the school and/or 1 in the woods.0 -
really this is not the way to show your children how to handle issues (yes this is not news for all of you reading this) but really mostly kindagarden kids shot in this horrible act. what the hell! i'm so happy that my preschooler is right here with her toddler brother! my heart goes out to all of the families, the babies and staff that where injured and murdered!! this **** has to totally stop!!!0

Tragedies happen in all parts of the world. But those families and friends afftected by this are in my prayers. I had to stop watching the news because my 6 yr old is home from school today sick, he was asking what happened why I was crying. SO sad!!!! I didnt want him to see this and have that fear.0

Seriously? This **** happens everywhere, even up here in 'passivist" Canada where we supposedly hate guns and all sleep with our doors unlocked. Google the Montreal Massacre or the Taber school shooting or even the shooting at the Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto last year. No place is immune to senseless violence.0 -

Not the time to start this kind of stuff... children were just shot and killed. Who cares where? It's still a terrible atrocity.
agreed.
and if this guy thinks its just the USA where these atrocities happen, he has a terrible lack of knowledge about the rest of the world....
But the fact that horrible things happen elsewhere doesn't take away how horrible this is. And it doesn't take away how it affects those of us who live here and feel personally connected to it by virtue of our time spent in the region, or our relatives who live there, or whatnot.0 -
This is so sad. My heart goes out to these children and their famalies. I read that they were told to close their eyes when they walked by the office where some of the shootings happened. Having an issue with the principal and going on a shooting spree and killing other adults and children is just nuts. He obviously had a plan because he was wearing a bulletproof vest and had 4 guns from an article I read on wnem.com. 24-year-old male.0

I can't understand harming any of them but damn....why the kids, hell they were still babies!! Kindergarten!!! Too bad they shot him, should have toured his *kitten* first and made him die a slow painful death0

Oh wait, I just noticed you're also Canadian. So you already know better.0 -
I am at a loss for words. My heart, thoughts, and prayers go out to the family members and everyone affected by this horrible tragedy. I don't understand why anyone would want to take a child's life or anyone's life. I am so saddened by this.0

I dont have children but I cant quit thinking about the parents of these little innocent babies having to go home and open the wrapped present under the Christmas Tree...
this is so heartbreakingly sad, my heart goes out to all0 -
My heart is just breaking over this. Violence like this is so senseless and accomplishes nothing.
So, so sad.0 -
So very devastating. I can't fathom this situation. My daughter is a 1st grader, and I couldn't imagine. My prayers are with these families, and the family of the shooter.0
-
Oh, this is just horrible. My prayers and thoughts to all. I am just heartsick. AGAIN0
-
I can't fathom what those parents, and that whole community, must be feeling right now. Tragic, and needless.0
-
Absolutely heartbreaking. My first thought was to pick up my son from school, too. If he didn't have final exams next week, I probably would be on the way to get him.
My thoughts and prayers are with those families who suffered losses.0 -
my heart is so heavy about this. I couldn't imagine.... my prayers go out to those families, those students, teachers..everyone0

Seriously considering leaving work to go grab my boys. They are that age. I am sick to my stomach.

so said, i heard it on the radio this morning. i live not too far from there in ny, so scary that something like that could happen in an elementary school :[0

Beyond heartbroken. I want to go get my son right now. I was just at his school this morning watching he and the rest of the first graders do a singing program they've been working on. So many sweet, innocent faces. I was there this morning while this was happening in CT. So sad.0

To everyone that has been effected by this, my heart is with you, your families, your children. Count your blessing, make sure you thank the Lord for everything He's provided before you go to sleep every single night. There is nothing I can say to help those who have lost, other than I pray for you and I am deeply sorry.0

Me drop it? How about addressing the douchcanoe who make his asinine comment instead of one of the dozen+ appropriate and inevitable responses to it?0 -

Because violence never happens anywhere else right?
Seriously dude, not ok. A senseless tragedy left many small children dead and you want to take potshots at an entire country? No thanks.0 -

Always terrible to hear. Makes me question my profession (teacher) sometimes. I can't imagine what the families are going though!
JM
I think about my teachers all the time, and I imagine I'd be a little nervous if I were teaching -- but please don't question your profession. As a teacher, you have the opportunity to teach kids to be better than this, especially for children whose parents can't or won't. I know it's unfair to put a complete stranger in that position, but I've seen a lot of that. Teachers make a HUGE difference - at least, they have for me. My junior year of high school was hell on Earth; I wanted to drop out so badly, but one of my teachers pulled me aside, talked to me, and changed my way of thinking. I will be graduating from college next spring (2014, that is) with a double major in Social Justice and Communications. I am so grateful to him, and I always will be. Sadly, no matter how great you are, some people will just come out messed up - but you may be the connection one kid needs to make his/her dreams come true, or even to just make it through school, which is a wonderful thing in itself. Sending my respect to the teachers of the world right now...
And condolences to the people who went through this horrible tragedy, as well as their families. Each time I hear one of these stories, I hope it'll be the last...and then a few weeks or DAYS later, there's another.0 -
Just heard this on BBC News and am utterly numb with grief and the sheer disbelief that this is allowed to happen again and again and again and again in America.
I guess the NRA's viewpoint will be that at least 40 million other kids were safe today because of guns.0 -
This made me honestly sad. I just can't fathom how somebody could ruin so many lives. These children should not have to know what it is like to lose people. They're too young to see the worst of humanity... Truly appalling.0
