    One handed

Yes - one handed because of the extra weight and also balance. A good transition would be to use less of one arm in a two armed push-up - maybe one hand on a basketball and one on the floor taking most of the weight - also prepares you for the balance issue.

edit: oh - yes - planche; grief! I am working on yoga pose Peacock which is similar.

I would have to say the full planche push-ups are among the hardest to do, one arm push-ups are a joke compared to it.

A planche pushup is one where you hold a planche (body/feet off and parallel to the ground supported by hands, kind of like a sideways handstand) and do a push up while holding that position.

To do it, you must hold a planche then do a push-up.

...the wall destroys the purpose of a planche pushup.

Can't do any, just can hold a planche. Haven't really put any effort into doing it in a while, maybe I should start back up again.
  • Planche pushups. Works your chest. arms, and core. Strong core to be able to do them.

Time to up the ante: clap planche press ups whilst balancing an emu on your head in a lava pit on the evening of 21st December 2012.

Declined push-ups (feet on a chair or weight bench, hands on floor) will engage more of your body weight, hence making it more challenging. I am not certain of the exact percentage, but I think it engages 70% of your body weight!

On an exercise ball, feet on top of the ball, inclined downwards.

Push up with lateral arm lift and 10 lb weights

Burpees with a push up in between

push up with a plank twist in between, alternating

    I could go on....
