planche are definitely hardest. Idk what they're called, but my husband does hand-stand like pushups. You're almost completely vertical with your feet just touching the wall for balance. They look pretty hard, not that I've ever tried them myself.0

ok ... maybe I am pronouncing it wrong, an possibly spelling my version of it wrong then...
Planche=plank?0 -
I'll raise you a one handed hand stand pushup?
One of these looks pretty impressive too!

A planche pushup is one where you hold a planche (body/feet off and parallel to the ground supported by hands, kind of like a sideways handstand) and do a push up while holding that position.how the hell we do plane push ups??
Is that like a pike push up then?
Not at all, youtube it.0 -
YouTubed planche push ups.. and holy crap... wow.. that takes some strength... just to even hold yourself in that position. hands down hardest push up ever0
-
Great thread. I never heard of the planche lol. Guess I have something to work toward now.0

planche
This. A full planche pushup is probably the hardest you could aspire to do.0 -
Are the planche's the ones where your arms are extended out from your head and your toes are pointed and you kind of lift yourself from the middle? If it is we used to call those Japanese push ups - never could do one without cheating its a killer0

just did all one but thats cos i was coming down0 -
Declined push-ups (feet on a chair or weight bench, hands on floor) will engage more of your body weight, hence making it more challenging. I am not certain of the exact percentage, but I think it engages 70% of your body weight!
well not really when you are habtual to push ups sugar..it gets easy:D0 -

That looks really difficult. I think we have a winner!0 -
i don't think i could ever do the planche. but there was one i finally got that i always thought was the toughest. you have your hands a little closer than shoulder with, drop down to where your arms are tucked in tight to your body at a 90. slowly lower your elbows down to the ground(kinda like a skull crusher where the floor would be the weight), lift your body back up using only your arms to get them back to a 90 by your side, push to the top.0

one handed finger pushups on rings with your feet elevated on stability balls0

I've often seen this referred to as the hardest push up in the world.
It is indeed tough but personally I have a harder time with planche push ups than these.0 -

Superman pushups I think they're called an no way are they the hardest! II've done 11 of them (drunk ) and no way can I do a planche pushup.
I reckon.
1. planche
2. one finger
3. 2 finger
4. 3 finger
5. handstand pushup
6. superman pushup
and then the rest that are relatively easy compared to these. Don't think I've missed any.0 -

Those of you who can do a Planch - I guess your hands are placed in the same position as a regular push-up but lower down to your waist for balance?
Have you tried the yoga Peacock posture? It is like a planche but the wrists are forward and you balance on a bent arm to 90 degrees - elbows into your core.
I've got as far as doing this as a Plank and working on getting my feet off the ground - aint easy!0
