    01/22/13 Tues 3.5 miles walk/run on treadmill

    Pulsed interval training as recommended by my RunKeeper training program: 60 second run followed by 90 second walking, then a couple 3 minute run sessions. Feeling so much more confident in my running, and can breathe better during the jog!

    Monday: A big, fat ZERO miles
    Tuesday: Walked the dog one mile (and got spots of frostbite--probably milder--on my cheek and nose :sad: )
    Today: 4.5 miles on the treadmill

    I am unofficially shooting for 100 miles for the month. We'll see how it goes....

    Added 1.4 miles walking the crazy dog. That should be the extent of my dog-walking today, IF the 16-year-old does his part.

    I'm here, I'm here! I've been pretty lazy since the holidays. It's been really hard to get back into it. I added 18 miles this week. I'm only up to 50% of what I aim to do by the end of the month. Hopefully, I can pick up the pace and finish strong!

    I have no clue how I'm going to meet my goal this month - the weather here is 21 degrees farenheit with a real feel of 9 degrees! (for those of you on celsius this is -12.7778 celsius!!!!!!!! And the forecast is like that for the rest of the week.

    I don't walk fast enough in that temperature to keep from freezing...

    I don't know how I can make up the rest of the 20 odd miles I need between now and the end...

    Ideas?

    Leslie Sansone does a whole series of indoor walking dvd's. About $10 at Walmart or the equivalent. You only need 6 or so foot long of indoor space. It's somewhat more than plain walking, but you can vary the intensity to your liking. She breaks them down into mile segments on the dvd. Hope that helps.
