    It was last night for us, it's nearly lunchtime 1st January here. We went down to our local foreshore where there were some bands playing and fireworks at 9pm and more at midnight. It was very hot and heaps of people were swimming. A great family night on the foreshore here, so glad there is something like that so close to home.

    My husband and I went shopping (bought some dvds), then to the cinema to see Life of Pi (lush visual treat), then for a lovely meal at a riverside restaurant. We got home just before the bells, toasted the New Year with some champagne, then watched some of season 2 of the Shield, with a few random youtube cats thrown in in between. Pretty lovely.

    I went to the sydney fireworks with friends. Apparently it was a bigger turnout than london or paris according to an australian paper. Lots of fun!

    I worked 10 hours today. Which went by in a flash somehow.

    Me and my husband went out to our most frequented sports pub which was nice and quiet. Had a couple beers. Food.

    Came home and played some video games. He volunteered to work tomorrow at 6am so I'm not going out but will probably stay up late!

    Skyping with my fiance (it's his birthday on the 1st, and it's already the 1st where he currently is) so we'll be celebrating a little and then heading to bed at a decent time (I'm sick :( )

    Right now I am in the middle of cooking dinner, checking mfp, and having a Screwdriver. Only 1 drink though. Then, I will proceed to watch Drop Dead Diva, Gilmore Girls, Breaking Bad, OR Damages until my bestie gets here! :) After he gets here, we will watch a movie or two that he brought over. :bigsmile: Should be fun! :drinker:

    Reason being: I live in a part of town where there are a bunch of alcoholic/druggie party animals and every day is like Friday night here. I don't feel like smashing someone's face in and getting arrested, so I think I'll stay home and NOT brave the stupid crowd! Bad enough walking around in the day, people get into car accidents cause their drunk or high, but tonight, it's been a constant sound of sirens and idiots yelling at the top of their lungs - OH and lets not forget the couples who love to scream and fight in the middle of the streets... :indifferent:

    I think everyone is safer with me staying home... I won't even let my cat outside tonight. :laugh:

    I just spent an hour arguing with my ex and then crying. Now I am having a glass of wine and feel pretty good about it all.

    ...and just finished listening to the fireworks 4 blocks away.

    Ugh, you sound like me on Christmas Eve - fighting with my ex and ending up crying - not so nice. :( But you're right - I played the whole wine thing after too and it felt a little better. *HUGS* Hope your New Year brings you better luck in love too sweetie!! :heart:

    I have my 2 girls, ages 10 and 11 this year. We are going to play a bunch of games (apples to apples, settlers of catan, monopoly, ...) East pizza and watch the ball drop :-)

    Will probably be my best new years in years!!!

    So not true, I'm turning 23 in a week and my friends call me the same thing lol. OLD 22 year old. Haha, oh well. *high five* for not being the only one. :bigsmile:
