Black Team Week 8!!!!!

Hey team. Just dropping in for a second. I am in the process of cleaning up 'my' desk. I used to use it, now that I have a laptop I don't anymore. However, it collects every piece of paper that comes through this house. I guess I am the Eckel secretary. :grumble: I just found stuff my husband laid on it that needs mailed. Is a stamp and a trip to the mailbox really that hard? The most frustrating part is that stuff gets thrown on here and forgotten. I came across mail I never even saw. Anyway....
Yesterday was a little frustrating, 3 steps forward 5 back with our outdoor projects, I was ready to say forget it. I feel better this AM. Things are moving in a forward direction again. Hiccups along the way I guess. It helps when you can call people and get answers.
Disclaimer: I know I'm not allowed to complain or Jeannie will beat me down so I'm not complaining, just sayin'......
This new lifestyle isn't an easy one. I pretty much ate 'with' the family this weekend, which means pizza, ice cream, chicken nuggets, for the most part, all less than healthy food. Only Satruday and Sunday, but wow, that's all it takes. It's amzaing how fast things can turn around.
I am proud of what I've accomplished. I am proud of how I look now in comparision to how I used to look. I am not always thrilled that it's going to take 100% dedication ALL the time to stay there. My jeans are tight today, my tummy is a little more muffin toppishh than on Friday and while I know I can work hard for a few days and be back down, it's not always an easy pill to swallow to know I can't let my guard down.
That is all. The ugly truth about weight loss slapped me again today. It does that on occasion.0 -

yes five pounds worth:grumble: How quickly we get thrown backwards, huh??
Amazing for me too (and my tummy isn't flat) at how quickly a weekend can change my shape. Sugar seems to fluff up my tummy are arms. Weird..these old bodies.
Lori-I am looking for an excuse to drive to you house so c'mon and make my day:glasses:
DH was talking about taking a nothing trip....one were we just drive up the east coast and see what happens. I told him you are in Pens area and we could go that way instead!! He said he would think about it as long as I didnt make HIM meet my friends:laugh:
Deal!!0 -

Jeannie- tell your DH that my DH is a crank *kitten* too... they will get along. Just kidding. Oh, how cool that would be though! Do it!
Marla- life is a journey, my journey this past weekend made my jeans tight. However, instead of reaching for the size 10's like I usually do after a bad week or weekend (which would feel loose), I reached for the 8's. It's self inflicted punishment.
I guess my observation is just how FAST things take a turn. Fast my friends, fast.0 -

Ladies, my hubs is the king of all crank *kitten*-- and I think they'd probably all hate each other. It's what crank *kitten* do.
Experiencing sugar withdrawal. Headache-- yowsa.
Thanks for all your encouragment regarding the basketball sitch. Feedback has been mostly positive. The one coach did express that she'd wished I'd addressed the coaches and not the parents-- fair enough. There is an authority structure, I should have honored it. So, I did have to offer a mea culpa on that one.
This league is history in our book-- never again. I'll stick with the community league....yeesh.
Lori, DH is FINALLY going to the doctor today. I'll keep you posted. I got ten bucks that says-- ah, nevermind.
Later.....0 -
Marla,
I have to share with you something that happened to my sister. She drove 2 hours with her husband (now that man is KING of crank *kitten*) anyway, to see their grand daughter play in her 7th grade championship basketball game. Now I have to insert here that it was the Diocese of Columbus championship game. The other team was really playing rough, throwing elbows , etc. Refs never did a thing. Well, my niece's team ( who is coached by her dad, my nephew) started to give a little of this back. Ref started calling the fouls on , yep again, my niece's team. Comments started to fly from the stands and the referees stopped the game and made EVERYONE but the teams and coaches leave the gym. All of these people standing all worked up about the way the game was going in a hall way. Oh yeah the police were called. A catholic girls championship game and the fans were thrown out and the police called. How's that for Christian attitudes? My sister sent a letter to the Bishop not expecting a reply but did get one, plus an apology for the way things were handled. Kara's team did win but how could they enjoy it when no one got to see the whole game or the trophies awarded.
When it comes to sports, it tends to bring the worst out in people. Doesn't matter what the sport, someone always thinks they know more then the next person. Only problem is they either don't know how to get their point across diplomatically or don't know how to just keep their mouths shut.
So yes I feel your pain and frustration. While I am looking forward to the weather getting warm, there is that little bit of dread cause swimming will be starting and all the know it alls will be out in full force.
Edited to add...Sorry so long ! :ohwell:0 -
Hey everyone had a great weekend enjoyed my sat with my kiddos and my wonderful husband...ate what I wanted sat with in reason, I did do 22.5 miles at the gym however before I ate and burned 1065 calories before hand, so which was not ptobably to bad..
Was in an excellent mood, sunday at work and made fabulous money....I am not complaining...
I ate good sunday and so far today...plan on staying good til friday then we are having a big ole party with a bunch of friend who I told we would eat but healthier choices we can make stuff but we had to attempt to make them healthier...
We shall see!!!
Well off the next two day I am pretty exciting about that..there is a chance of snow hopefully not I plan on cleaning tomorrow with no kiddos in my house or husband hopefully...
Well fiixn to take my son to the doctor he has been spitting up blood all weekend I am thinking may just be a sinus infection, but we will see...Have a great day!!!0 -
no apology needed, Bobbi-- I loved reading your story. And it happens all over.
Next year, we'll stick to the community league. As ironic as it seems, because of the "politically correct" rules they put on the coaches and parents, which I rail against-- it forces and regulates the "pagan" league to behave more Christian than the Christian ones do.
Go make sense of that one.:noway: :ohwell:0 -
well the dr said just what I thought as I was on my way there...Severe sinus infection with severe inflammation in his nasal passages!!
My poor baby well off to get his medicine0 -

Needless to say my sister and her husband get kidded all the time about being thrown out of a basketball game. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you, my brother in law is a deputy sheriff. :laugh:0 -

Tamara-- Hope the little guy feels better soon. Enjoy your time off
Marla-- Not to bring up unpleasantness for you...but I just wanted to say that I admire the way you handled the whole basketball fiasco...in fact, I always admire (from afar:blushing: ) the way you speak up and stand up for things. I wish I were more like you with things like that. I tend to keep my mouth shut most times to avoid contraversy and conflict. Good for you for standing up for whats right and what you believe in. Your a great role model for your children (and me:blushing: ).
Lori-- Im glad you are finding "peace" in accepting your body as it is. I, along with everyone here, truly think that you look amazing and have done a wonderful job of changing your lifesyle. And just for the record...if I could go to a plastic surgeon and have my body be sculped to what I wanted...I would tell him to sculp my body to look like Lori Eckels'
I know there is more...I apologize for those I missed. So for now I will just wish everyone a great Last Chance workout and a Happy Tuesday!:flowerforyou:
P.S. Doesnt Biggest Loser air again tonite? I sure have missed it!:ohwell:0 -

Good Tuesday morning team...Nothing exciting here today. It is supposed to snow later on today, we'll see. I am ready for spring. One good snow a year is enough for me. It hardly ever snows in our part of SC but it certainly has this year. My oldest son decided he doesn't like track and the soccer coach let him come out for an evaluation yesterday. Try-outs are actually over but since he played soccer last year for the school they gave him a chance. The coach told him to come back today so fingers crossed that he will make the team. He has played soccer since he was 4 years old and a friend convinced him to run track with him this year but he didn't like it as well. Youngest is getting his car ready for the Pinewood Derby this Saturday for the Cub Scouts. It is an Army vehicle this year. He painted it and put it together by himself and he is very proud. All for now. Hope you all have a great day.0

Let's just say TRX is NO JOKE!!! but if you have it at your gym take it. 1 hour 730 calories.0

rotten hand pain today, and swelling-- cereal with milk twice yesterday--
Hmmmmmmmm--
Later.0 -
Roni- you are too sweet. I can tell you many other body role models, much better, but thanks anyway. I have a large frame and an atheltic build. Add to that lifting heavy weights. I fear sometimes my arms are starting to look manly....but then again, I'll take man arms over fat arms I guess. I mostly feel it in Zumba where there are thin, dancer like bodies who look sexy. I look in the mirror and feel butchy and no where near sexy, but whatever.
Tammy- track is a snooze to sit through, be happy for soccer. Trust me.
Marla- STEP AWAY FROM THE DAIRY!
Sam- you rock the gym girl!
I have mega taxi duty this afternoon. We finally decided on a concrete slab for the hot tub. I want to go start digging and leveling. I have been itching to get started for a week. DH finally gave me the go. It's sort of drizzly and cold, but I'm thinking of getting in an hour or so worth of work. We shall see. Gotta go get stuff done!
Edit: When you shrink out of all your clothes and need old crappy clothes to wear outside that are going to get trashed you can't find any. All the old clothes have left the house. None of the new ones are old enough to fall into the old crappy category yet. Makes it interesting. Guess I have to look for new crappy clothes that I don't mind ruining.0 -
But, Lori-- here's' my dilemma..... I'm trying to cut out sugar, love to cut out breads, et cetera-- have to cut out dairy.
WTH do I eat for flippin' breakfast or a low-cal, low-cost snack?
Madness.0 -

I know. I won't cut dairy. I it too much. I would say fruits, but I know you don't but a lot of fresh stuff, understandly so, it goes fast with 4, can't imagine with your crew. I don't sweat bread that much. I dont' eat tons and tons of it.
What effect do eggs have on you? Eggs are cheap, eat the whites, throw away the yolk.
I will think on this one for you. Gotta get in the shower. Mega taxi duty starting in 1.5 hours.
Digging sucked by the way. 1 inch of brown dirt followed by rock solid clay. But I got my dig on for an hour and a half. Burned another 600 calories, got in a lower back and core workout.0 -
Page three?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Unacceptable!
Lol,
I hope everyone is having great last chance work outs! I will be posting the new challenge along with the results tommorow night.
BUMP BUMP BUMP..
back to page one.
have a great night and good luck on your weigh ins!0 -
hello Batman-- happy to see you back. I'll bet Beth is tickled black-- uh, I mean pink.
Just had a good turbo sculpt workout-- did 5 lb. Weights for the first time. Good workout. My showoff daughter moved up to the 8 pounders. Punk.
Then did a little bit of dancing, and am heading out for a walk after hubs' run. I opted for indoor work instead tonight, but he wants a walking buddy, so out I'll go.
Then hope to burn the midnight oil typing boring *kitten* tonight-- pardon the French. Ugh.
Later, my team-- hope you all had a lovely day.0 -
Morning all,
Not been able to do the shred dvd since monday - I have managed to bruise the ball /palm of my hand and too much pressure on it kills!! But have been on the bike and walking as much as possible. No weight change again - seem to have hit a plateau :grumble:
Hope everyone has a good weight in, x0 -
Morning team. I see the sun shining and a big 10X10 hole in my yard calling my name! The place we are leveling for the hot tub is sloped, it's probably 18 inches higher at the top than the bottom. Lots and lots of digging.
I decided to hit the gym for cardio only, I think I'll bypass weights the rest of this week, my back is screaming from the hour and a half I was digging yesterday, today is back day at the gym. No thanks.
So, to the gym, to Walmart for some stuff I need, to Lowes to get an estimate on the deck I want, then home to get my dig on again. The youngest gets off early today and he can't wait to come home and grab a shovel and help. I give that about 10 minutes of helping and he'll be done, but I'll take what I can get.0 -
