I have 2 favorites currently they each make 2 large servings or 4 smaller, I divide them up into 4 mason jars and have a.m. and p.m smoothie for 2 days. I also prepare the night before and keep in fridge to let flavor blend
    recipes are
**pumpkin pie smoothie** (total calories for entire recipe 400 calories, may vary according to protein powder)

    2 cups unsweetened almond milk
1- 15oz can of pure pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
a 5oz bag of spring mix lettuces ( about 3 cups worth)
1 cup baby spinach (some spring mixes include spinach, mine did not)
2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice ( more or less to taste)
2 packets of stevia in the raw
    1 scoop vanilla protein powder
I also add water to thin out more but amount varies

    recipe 2
***peanut butter and jelly*** (total calories for entire recipe 479)
    2 cups almond milk unsweetened
1- 5oz bag of spring mix about 3 cups packed
    1 cup spinach
    2 cups grapes
    2 bananas
    2 tablespoons pb2

use frozen fruit or not mine doesn't matter as I make night before and refrigerate. the Pb & j is a variation on a recipe from simple green smoothies website. theirs is with almond butter.

    I hope you enjoy

An old favorite (when my Health Master blender still worked) was:

Baby spinach, romaine lettuce, frozen mango, frozen green grapes, wheat grass and 1/2-1 banana. YUM YUM! Just remembering it makes me want one! Stupid piece of poop blender.
  • I have been experimenting with green smoothies lately and this is by far my favorite:

    1 medium banana
    1 small peach
    10 almonds (ground)
    1 tablespoon flax seeds (ground)
    1/2 cup greek yogurt
1/4 cup almond milk/ milk / or water
    1 handful spinach

for extra protein boost I add 1 scoop of protein powder and or 1 tablespoon almond butter

You can always add more liquid based on how thick you like your smoothie and add more spinach
  • you all need to get the nutribullet ! With a regular juicer or blender, you will never get the same result as with the nutribullet. I bouthgt it 4 weeks ago and since then have has great smoothies, green and fruity. it is so easy and quick and tastes delicious! Its such an easy way of eating healthy and within your calorie range. I eat about 3 times more veggies and fruit than i did before. The best thing is that it gets the metabolism going ( i always had a slow one), it feels great. The smoothies are easy on the stomach and just taste delicious.

My sister lost weight simple with the bullet.

I have between 1-3 bullets a day and i feel great.
My husband is also totally in love with it and we end up trying so many receipes , it is so much fun.

I was sceptical when i bought it, yet wanted to ry it out. Now i can not imagine to live without it , seriously !
I wake up in the morning , excited what i can blend this time and am always surpsied when i found a new cool recipe

blend the milk and the spinach first and then slowly put in a few of the frozen fruit at a time. Inexpensive blenders do just fine, it jsut won't blend all the frozen fruit at once. Sometimes I let the fruit thaw out a little before adding them in.

So many great-looking recipes! Thanks for sharing.

I don't have a recipe but have added baby spinach to many different types of smoothies and I can't taste the spinach at all. So I guess any smoothie can be a "green" smoothie.

i've never done a green smoothie.this has spinach in it,so hope it counts. today will be my 1st go at it. it will be for breakfast it will contain.

1 scoop muscletech protein powder choc or vanilla not sure on flavor yet (protein source)
    1 banana (potasium)
3/4 cup baby spinach will probably do a whole cup (fiber,anti-inflammatory,energy,antioxidants)
1/2 cup oatmeal he uses 1 cup. went half to keep cals down (carb slow gigesting)
1 tbsp instant coffee (i added for a little boost)
1/2 cup wild berries.i will probably do a whole cup (antioxidants, immune booster, fast source of energy)
    1 cup water
    ice cubes
    1 scoop glutamine powder(not adding,don't have ingredient)

i got this recipe from Funk Roberts Fitness this is his pre-workout smoothie minus the coffee(i added that)

I made one the other day with 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, 1/4 frozen banana, 1 cup frozen tropical fruit medley, 1 scoop protein powder, and 2 large handfuls of baby spinach. I blended everything but the spinach first to get a nice creamy consistancy. Then I added the spinach and blended thoroughly. Added a few ice cubes and blended til it was ready. Very tasty.

awesome, I just got my blender today & I think i have everything on hand for this except only frozen banana & frozen mango, no tropical medley...still i am going to try it out later. thanks!
  • Thanks for sharing! this is what I was lookng for, some receipes to use in my Nutri Bullet, but low calorie.

had this awesome concoction the other day... ohhh heaven!

    In order, into your blender/ninja/etc-

    4 ice cubes
    32g chocolate whey isolate
    1 tbsp cocoa powder
15g peanut flour (2 Tbsp PB2 or 1 Tbsp natural PB works too)
    8oz almond milk, unsweetened
    70g spinach
1 cup (140g) frozen mango pieces
    1/2 cup (70g) frozen blueberries
    (additional water as necessary)

This makes enough for 2 servings, but I honestly had the entire thing. It was around 330 calories so for breakfast, it was very filling and delicious and absolutely worth it. No sharing. If you wanted a snack or post-workout treat, you could share I suppose

I use extra ice because I like my smoothies really thick. Totally optional, but if you do use them put them in first.
