If it fits in your calories, enjoy.. I do daily.. I have snack size candy from time to time.. The ice cream I now use is Skinny cow just because it is low in cals and I like it.

But there is nothing wrong with having snack daily so long as it fits in your cal count.. better than depriving yourself and binging.

I am in this for the long haul so everything is in moderation.

I have a sweet everyday. I can't stay away from cookies and my cherry chocolate chip soy ice cream from Trader Joes.

I'm just curious how often you guys all eat dessert? Or if not dessert, something else that you crave but maybe shouldn't eat everyday.

Or do you think that as long as it fits in your daily calorie intake it doesn't matter?

Personally, I have a HORRIBLE sweet tooth. mostly for chocolate and cookies. not a big candy person.
I found this really good chocolate frozen yogurt that's 180 cals for a cup. if its fits in my calorie intake can I have it often? or no? Because it totally satisfies my cravings without making them worse (which cookies and other chocolates do, I can never only have 1 of those.. )

    Every day. See my ticker?
I eat chocolate something every single day. And ice cream about once or twice a week. And sweet figs. IIFYM.

    Have fun, enjoy yourself. Eat.

I craved ice cream for almost two weeks before I just decided to break down and have it and guess what, it was so worth it. Every now and again is not that bad.

Never ever unless it's a sugar free dessert, sugar makes you fat
    [/quote]

    never ever?
ya not gonna happen.. completely cutting out junk just usually makes a person binge on it at some point.

Not necessarily so. I have been without sugar (sucrose) and wheat for about two years now and I would NEVER go back to eating them. Keeping control of my appetite was as simple as eliminating both of them. So dessert for me is a wonderful organic half grapefruit or a once-a-day piece of glucose-sweetened bitter chocolate (chocolate of this sort will actually help your body to repair damaged DNA--it's unusually good for you).

    Pretty much every night.

Me too. But it's almost always homemade stuff. And I budget for it.

if it fits into your daily numbers, then go for it.
if you deprive yourself, you may be more likely to binge later on.
i'm not a big chocolate craver, but if i did want something chocolately, i would make a scoop of choc protein powder with oatmeal. very tasty.

I have dessert every night. Portions and a sweet tooth have always been my problem, so every night I treat myself to a twix ice cream bar (170 calories) and even with a treat every night I have seen steady results the last few weeks and have yet to go over my calories or fat for the day since I started MFP

Except for the last couple of days (I've been on a work related exercise so food choices are limited) every evening as long as it fits in with my calorie & sugar macros. Usually low fat rice pudding, small chocolate bar or something else similar.Works for me.

.Don't deprive yourself totally otherwise you'll end up eating over indulging.

I don't eat dessert...I'm diabetic. Although every now and then I get a hankering for a yummy fat free strawberry banana yogurt lol

I've got a horrible sweet tooth, too. Like previously mentioned, I have a hard time giving sweets up, because I eventually have a bite and go into binge mode. I'm working on moderating my sugar intake now, and trying to just have a piece or two of dark chocolate every other night, or a miniature York patty. I have a weakness for ice cream even though I'm lactose intolerant, so I'll occasionally buy a pack of light ice cream sandwiches and have one whenever I have lactase supplements available. If you want to quit sweets, it's best to use a behavioral fading technique- cut down gradually. Have your normal portion of dessert once, then gradually cut down the portion size. After that, start allowing it only once every other day, then every two days, then every three days... and so on, until you can go for longer periods without it. It takes time, though, and is difficult because change is so cyclical. Diabetes runs in my family, so I'm trying to slowly cut down my sugar intake. It's hard, but I've realized that alcohol and hormones are probably my biggest weaknesses. I've decided to quit drinking for a while, but I can't really fix nature's effect on me. =/

I'm a choco-holic. I typically crave something sweet after dinner, so I usually eat something sweet every day, but I try to make wiser choices.
Swiss Miss has chocolate ice cream bars that are only 100 calories, and I recently bought some Healthy Choice Greek Fro-Yo that's also 100 calories.
But my current favorite dessert (which is more like a snack) is a homemade smoothie. I blend 1 banana, 5 ice cubes, 1 Chobani yogurt (some kind of berry flavor like strawberry or black cherry), and 2 tbsp. of unsweetened cocoa powder. I get lots of extra protein that way, and the cocoa powder (only 25 added calories!) gives it a very rich chocolate flavor. If you want fewer calories, you could easily share it with someone or save some for later.
This might also be good frozen and eaten as ice cream, but I haven't tried it yet.

    I'm all about moderation.

I eat dessert. REAL dessert everyday. Sometimes 2x a day.
