O.K. - we're up and running for a new challenge. This runs starting today, 3/22/10, until the first day of Summer - Monday, June 21. What are your goals??
My goals: 1. To complete Couch to 5 K program. 2. To run the 2 mile race in the Montana Women's Run. 3. To run the 5K at the Heart and Sole Run in June. 4. To not completely lose it during the busy season, which is just now getting started and will be going whole hog in April, May and June. Maybe if I don't set a weight loss goal, I'll actually lose a little this time! Welcome everyone!

I think I'm going to try to jump in on this challenge:
1.) Keep running in the morning even as it grows to over 100F as May approaches
2.) Increase my monthly mileage from around 50 miles to around 75 miles
3.) Continue to be mostly meat free, mostly sugar (HFCS and sucrose) free and mostly dairy free in my eating habits
4.) Compete in the 4.2 Mile Pat's Run, the 6 Mile Mad Mud Run and the 4 mile Mud run0 -
Yay Kellybones - welcome to our little group. Those are great goals - although be careful with that heat!! At least running early in the a.m. will be a little better. Great runs - good luck!0
-
Currently I run at just about 5am...come summer time I'm planning to shift that back to about 4am - no sun and far less heat.
Luckily, it's a DRY heat, right?0 -

Haha! That's what we always used to say when I was in AZ - my oldest was born in Yuma. That winter I told my hubby (now ex) "Get me out of here!! We Montana girls aren't cut out for this crap" I'm impressed - 4 a.m. is early, but if you want to be able to enjoy outdoors at all you gotta. :flowerforyou:0 -
Yay I found the new thread!
I;ve been a bad, bad girl. Starting with St. Patrick's Day, that knocked me out of commission for a day or two :drinker: then I went out of town for two days. :drinker:
I am actually looking forward to getting back to eating right and going to the gym. I was sooooooooo sick when I went out of town...I had a good time but I was miserable. I was so mad at myself. So hopefully, all those bad cravings are out of my system.
My goal for the summer challenge? Be down to 187. That's 10 lbs from now. I know I can do it!0 -

Woohoo!! You go girl. Don't get mad - just back on track! Things will happen like that, we just have to learn to keep the excess fun limited and hop right back on track.0 -

No problem at all! We're pretty informal - just check in whenever you want. Your goals can be weight loss, fitness or just not eating candy bars. I can't set a weight loss goal, for some reason everytime I do I will not lose an ounce until the goal date passes. So I'm trying something else this time! We just are here to check in how we are doing on our paticular goal and support eachother and just keep on doing our best. Gotta go now, finish work and go to a concert tonight - I'll check back in tomorrow! :drinker:0 -
Hello ladies. I'm back and ready for a challenge! I plan to just fit comfortably in my skinny jeans everyday.... rather than some days. I just don't want to pack on any pounds before summer. Any toning and pound loss is my goal. Nothing specific. Glad to see everyone again!!0

GOOD AM LADIES
im hoping to accomplish most of my goal for the year 2010 by losing 70 lbs,i know i can do it if i stick to my game and i have been sticking now for the past 2 weeks, but my weekly goal is to exercise at least 45 minsa day 5 days a week.so far i did 30mins yesterday because TOM paid me a 1 day early visit, the sun was hot and cramps didnt made it any easier either, but i made it.hope today i can do a little better maybe a few mins at my desk with my 8lbs weights.
calo i hope u had a great time at the concert last night.0 -
I would love to join!
My goals:
1. Continue marathon training. My marathon is on June 26th. My goal is to follow the schedule completely when it comes to the long run days.
2. Log EVERYTHING (even when it's not pretty).
3. My husband comes home for R&R from Iraq in early May. My goal is to not gain any weight when he is home.
4. 150lbs or under by May 1st. That's only a few pounds away but these pounds have been hanging around and not going anywhere for quite some time.0 -
Hi all!! Yay Hot Momma! Glad to see you back and welcome Miss_ Alias. The more the merrier :drinker:
The concert was great last night - Rock and Worship Roadshow - 7 bands. $10 at the door Love those guys - Mercy Me is great and the David Crowder Band and most of the rest. I personally could have done without the Heavy Metal band, but a lot of younger people were really excited about them.
Super busy day at work today - inventory and etc. Hopefully this afternoon will calm down! Ordered in pizza for lunch :grumble: Better go log the ugliness :drinker:0 -
So far so good this week...I think by eating junk all weekend, I got it out of my system and I'm ready to forge ahead.
I went to the gym today and was on the elliptical for a while, then I went into the basketball court and played basketball by myself for about an hour. It was fun! I've been doing that for the last two weeks or so. There's hardly anyone else ever in there, so I get the whole court to myself, According to my HRM, I burned over 1000 calories (including the 30 mins on the elliptical.)
Then I went food shopping and stocked my fridge with all good for you stuff. :flowerforyou:0 -

I usually don't eat back my calories, or at least not all of them. I know a lot of people on here will have my head for saying that, but everyone's different. I find that when I eat them all back, I don't lose any weight.0 -
toots99 ~a lesson well learned that not to eat back the calories u worked out.0
-
Yep...i was losing steadily for a while, then read about eating them back. and so I did...and tried it for a whole summer, and was at a standstill. I stopped eating them back, and started losing again.0
-
I worked my butt off today, hopefully literally! I was off today, and was feeling good so I exercised like crazy. Did the elliptical for about 30 minutes, then played basketball for about an 40 minutes. Went home, walked to the store to buy food to have for lunch, then headed back to the gym (it's very close by) and did another 40 minutes. Came home, then went for an hour long walk! I figured I might as well give it 110% while I felt like it because I slacked way too much last week. All in all, I burned 1593 calories, not counting the short walk to the store.
Now, Im about to enjoy some dinner, and a well-earned cold beer. :drinker:
I'll probably be crippled tomorrow. :laugh:0 -
I'm not crippled. But I did undo almost all of the damage from last week! :drinker: :drinker:0
-
So I miss a few days (ok maybe a week) and you are on a new thread. I feel like I have been gone a few years. Excited though for the new challenge.0
-
Hope you've been having an easy time staying on track!0

Hi ladies!!! Just got finished cooking for my weekend at work. I have 5 days off every week. I do ok those days, then I come home from work after the weekend and it seems like I weigh 5 pounds more than I did the friday before. It's very discouraging. I did my grocery shopping and also stocked up on good for you stuff. I bought lots of fish and turkey and minimal red meat. I've really gotten into organic education I really want to eat organic for my daughter's food especially since I've read about the way they use pesticides and other processing ways. It's overwhelming to go completely organic, or to read too much about it. It makes you not want to eat anything. I did ok though I made it out of the grocery store with all organic produce except for 2 things and bought a total of about 9 pounds of meat for 120 dollars!! I think that is great for a family of 3 for 2 weeks. Did I mention I have also become obsessed with couponing? It kind of keeps me focused because I will not buy unhealthy food unless it is a treat, and it is basically free.
I was thinking to myself today I am so glad I have a daughter that is almost 2 and has never once asked for mcdonalds or a happy meal. She asked today for a snack... asparagus and carrots. Where is the good parenting award?!?!?
I have also begun to reevaluate my goals. I am setting my wii fit goals to only 2 lbs every 2 weeks. It isnt' much... but it makes me feel like I am making progress by being able to reset my goals early!!! Everyone have a great weekend!! I will check back monday and hope for some loss over the weekend.:flowerforyou:0 -

I tend to be the opposite. I do better when I work, and days off tend to get a little hard to handle.
I think my marathon workout day the other day killed me. I've had to force myself to go to the gym since. It's not for a lack of motivation, I think I just wore myself out! :laugh:0 -
hello all, have been really bad this wekend and trying my best to get back on track today.o willl be back later getting ready for work0
-
Ohhh Chinese food and ice cream, how do you do it? Why do you do it? Why do you make me love you and make me powerless in saying no? :laugh:0

Hi all! Been busy lately, also kind of off track. I've been doing my Couch 2 5K, but missed 1 day last week. Moving on to week 5. I'm really struggling with stress and depression right now. It's ugly! I need to get back on track with eating well - that helps a lot. And hopefully dh will find out today that he DID get the job he interviewed for. We really, really need it. The spring planting season is just starting to kick in up here - will be in full swing within a couple of weeks. I'll try to get on here everyday, but if I'm mia - I'll be back!! It gets crazy.0
