You're in a car with your SO and kids, the driver loses control and ends up driving into a lake.
Who would you save first?
I'd save my kids , youngest first as he would have the least chance. Husband can take care of himself.

A dead husband is way better than dead kids.0

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine?0

First person who chooses their SO over their kids gets a beating.0
-
I'd save everyone at the same time. I'm a beast like that  :bigsmile:0

Given that we're talking plural children, I'd hope the SO pulled his or her *kitten* into gear and HELPED me save the babies in the backseat.0

Well aren't you a ray of sunshine?

i have no kids either, is my husband knocked out? if he is, i would save him first, then the dog, if i had kids, of course you save the kids first, i cant imagine anyone saving the SO first.
now if we're talking saving the cat or the dog, always save the cat over the dog, every time.0 -
I was actually in that exact situation and I couldn't save everybody, this thread is just cruel for making me relive the horrible choice I had to make, it was between that little girl and Will Smith and who wouldn't choose Will Smith?0

I would collect the insurance money, and buy a nice ham0

I'm divorced and my kids are in there mid 20's. So I'd let the ex drown and pray that the kids saved me, cause I don't swim either.
With my kids, I'm gonna drown anyway, so I suppose it wouldn't matter much.0 -
Don't have kids and I will be using my SO (AKA my right hand) to swim!0

Quite frankly anyone who admits to choosing one over the other is an a-hole.
If you can firmly say that you would rather save your children than your SO then you are saying you don't love your SO as much as your children. In which case you should split up.
On the other hand, if you can firmly say that you would rather save your SO than your children then you are saying you don't love your children as much as your SO. In which case you should rather have just stayed childless.
The only reasonable answer to this question is "I don't know". If you think I'm talking bs then tell your SO to his/her face that you would save your children first. I bet most of you don't have the guts to do that. And if you don't have the guts to tell your SO that then you probably don't trust him/her the way he or she may trust you.0 -

^^ Yea, another this. Some things are better left unsaid.0 -
Funny, cuz him and I were just discussing this last night. Our scenario was my SO has both my son and I each in a hand and the 2 of us are falling off a mountain and if he could only pull one up what would be his decision.
My answer was Goodbyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....:)0 -
Hell, if I can get out my SO can surely do it too... and he can help with the kids! We will each take one and help our third help herself (she is 17)... we are all saved!!0
