I've got some news for you guys that might hurt your feelings. But it seems like quite a bit of you need to hear it...
Like the title says, you're not special. Plain and simple. But I'll go in a little more detail.
We're all on this website for one common goal, and that's pretty cool. But I've noticed that the majority of the MFP population is full of fitness snobs. You've got great bodies, great motivation, great food diaries, and that's okay.
Some people don't. Some people aren't like you. Some people eat junk, and don't work out. And you know what? That's awesome.
You have no right to tell other people what to do with their life, and you certainly have NO RIGHT to police someone else's body and habits. It isn't yours, and it's none of your business.
I understand that there are some special cases where people's health is urgent, etc etc, but when it gets down to it, their choice is only their own.
Just because someone doesn't live the lifestyle that you do, doesn't mean you should tell them to change, and it in no way makes you any better than them. Everyone is different and while yes, if we were all a little healthier as a species that would be wonderful, it's just not going to happen.
You are fit, you are healthy, and you are not special. Sorry, but no one is.
Gotcha.
When you don't lose weight, shut up about it.
I'm not saying I'm perfect. I eat junk and miss workouts. But with dedication and hard work I got the results I was after, thanks to MFP.
You don't want to put in the work? Fine. But don't put down people who do.
Exactly this.
When someone asks me what to do to get results like mine, I have the right to tell them what to do.0 -

Hm. Well, in a way I'm going to agree with you.
We all make decisions based on our wants, needs and goals. For me, I don't drink alcohol (or pop for that matter!), don't eat fast food, don't smoke, or do drugs. I do, however, love me a cupcake and energy drink. I haven't cut either one of those out of my life and won't do it (so, people can save their breath trying to convince me sugar will kill me, if the energy drink doesn't get to me first).
We choose what's important to us and we go from there. That being said, if I gain weight from my large consumption of cupcakes and want to blame someone else for it (and we are a society of blamers), that is plain ridiculous.
So, own the choices you make. Accept they may not be perfect and move on.
But, yeah. People need to BUTT OUT and worry about themselves more.0 -
So wait when you say you're not special...are you meaning...unique? Wonderfully different?
Or short bus special... Hah.0 -

Maybe if you stick around long enough you will learn the proper way to troll....you know, from us unspecial people.0 -
Sometimes I wonder if I'm on the same website as every else or if I'm in my own little alternate MFP universe here.....
I've never come across any of these people in the two years that I've had an account here. Ever.0 -

Well, if you ask to be my friend, I will look at your diary and your routine and I will tell you what I think about what I see. If is up to you to follow advice given by others but don't be complaining when you can reach whatever goal you have in mind. If you don't want people giving you their opinion then don't ask for it, don't post about it and stay away from the social aspect of this site.
For the record, I think I am pretty special0 -
we're beautiful like diamonds in the sky. This is what Rihanna tells me. shine bright like a diamond OK? because diamonds are special.0

i shall learn eventually.
It really is an art form. At least you only screwed up on something that is easy to learn to fix. You generally want to let it blow up for at least a good six hours or so. Timing is also very important, but you got that about right (right as many posters would have been coming back from their lunch break at work).0 -

Troll or no troll, I will respond to the original post:
If someone is on MFP putting forth some nonesense that will easily lead a flock of noobs astray, down the path of purchasing weight loss products, starvation, or illness, I am gonna speak out. EVEN IF THE POST IS A TROLL POST. Because I just know far too many anorexics, orthorexics, bulemics, and chronically obese-while-on-diet-pills-and-depressed people who are GOOD people with SERIOUS PROBLEMS.
