If I eat snow... does that count towards my water intake?

awesome! haha
i eat snow all the time when i'm riding to keep hydrated0 -
I follow a water conservation blog (I kinda get into that type stuff) and they have a system that collects rain water and filters it so it can be used for drinking water.
:drinker:
that is excellent! Do they have a heater to attach to the device? What about a conveyor belt, or do I need to shovel it?0 -
as long as it's not yellow
   :laugh:0 -
What about the brown spots from your dog... Whiteslim Fibre Bars?
Ahhh i can smell the money..:bigsmile:0 -
I live in canada too, born and raised. I love to eat snow, its my favorite way to get my water intake. I eat about 15 cups of snow per day, and I love taking my dog sled out to find fresh untouched snow to munch on. watch out for polar bears though....if i see one i hide in my igloo, they can never find me.
how do you manage the brain freeze?
how big is your igloo? want company?0 -
You could probably even log that as exercise.
Wait a second - bicep chest has an awesome idea here. Calorie is the amount of energy required to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 deg C.
This means that if you consume water that's no more than 36 deg C, one less than body temp 37 C, you will be consuming negative calories for EVERY GRAM OF WATER!!!
HOLY **** SOMEONE GET A PEN!!!0 -

Snow has negative calories. You'll shed about 5lb eating a garden-full.0
-
You're eating it, not drinking it, so no, it doesn't count.
what if I let it melt in my mouth first?
But if we chew it wouldnt that be like those negative calorie foods....yeah I think it would burn off more calories to chew it than to drink it making it a win win situation. Yeah Id go with that.....
• Avoid non-white snow, because that's extra calories
• If you melt it before drinking, then it's easier to measure
• If you let it melt in your mouth first, you temporarily increase metabolic burn rate
• If you munch it on down, then you also get a negative caloric intake

So, it's settled:
• Avoid non-white snow, because that's extra calories
• If you melt it before drinking, then it's easier to measure
• If you let it melt in your mouth first, you temporarily increase metabolic burn rate
• If you munch it on down, then you also get a negative caloric intake

Don't forget... if you pack it tightly and drizzle it with cherry syrop, it counts towards your daily fruit requirements0 -

You will be fine as long as you are above your BMR and not eating 1200 calories. If you do you might have to re-eat back those negative snow calories, do the hokey pokey and eventually turn yourself around. Thats whats its all about.0 -

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED TO HOKEY POKEY IN THREE FEET OF SNOW?
noone can tell if your left foot is in, or out, or if you're even shaking it all about.
not to mention how heavy the sorel boots are...0 -
Nice try. You still have to shovel your part of the sidewalk.0

Unfortunately, due to pollution and acid rain, you'd be ingesting an exorbitant amount of toxins by eating snow. You would need to cleanse immediately after doing this.
If I walk around wrapped in plastic, will that be a sufficient way to manage the toxins?
Only if you use Saran Wrap brand.
And take pictures.0 -
For sure it counts!!!!!!0

Now we need to know how LOUD the snow is too? This is a horribly difficult undertaking.0 -
Wait there's snow in Canada? Is it beer flavored?

Im not saying its gonna be easy....it never is. Just start by putting your right foot in and taking it back out...then shake it all about. One step at a time.
Oh and the boots count towards weight training too. You will build muscle so dont be worried if you gain a lb or two.0
