yep, another year alone, although i did have a partner and started planning it from before we broke up, so a little over receiving jewellery and things in the post from overseas that will now just go in a box at the back of the cupboard0

might as well be. I work at an Italian restaurant making this very romantic for others, while my husband does nothing for me...
ok well for my birthday he bought me a fire pit, that still sits in the livingroom, in the box waiting to be assembled. Valentine's day is not my favorite time of year.0 -
My absolute favorite xkcd is about the horrors of actually being in a relationship on valentine's day.

I've never actually stapled my hand to my face, but I never know what to do.0 -
I too have been single for many V Days so you are not alone at all!0

I'm not single, but my boyfriend and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. It's just an excuse to market chocolates, jewelry and flowers to people. No thanks. So, if you're feeling sad, just remember that Valentine's Day is a holiday made up by corporations to make them wealthier, and you more insecure.0

Yup me too. And to top it off, I have to commute to a training (~75 mi round trip) so it'll take me forever to get home. Plan to workout in the AM, and wear something pink. The pink thing isn't really a surprise. I wear pink all the time. LOL.
Maybe I'll watch a movie. And have some treats....0 -
Yep! The last two years I was in a relationship and he didn't even bring up the fact that it was Valentine's Day the first year and last year we were supposed to have lunch together and he "overslept and forgot". So this year, I'm getting dressed up and taking myself out!! And I can't wait! I'm not ashamed or embarrassed - I'm going to my favorite restaurant and sitting by myself and I'm gonna enjoy it
Way to go have a fantastic time, and Happy Valentine!!!0 -

Single girl here! I bought myself a heart rate monitor for Valentine's Day (bought it a couple days ago...because I work on v-Day). Was thinking of picking up a piece of jewelry for myself as well as a bouquet of flowers. No chocolate though...as i gave up chocolate, ice cream, soda, and sex for lent. The sex will be the easiest one for me to not cave on. Sad. lol0

I'm single o V-Day. I hate it but I live with the pain all 13 years of being single on V-day. I don't need sweets or flowers. All I need is Zumba

I just broke up with my boyfriend of 1.5 yrs. on Monday. It was my choice. We fought all the time, and I couldn't take it anymore. Too many differences....and similarities. He was bad for my weightloss, too. His eating habits were terrible, and mine would get worse whenever he was around. Of course, that's not what ended it...lol. I no longer wanted the stress in my life with all the bickering and power struggles. I don't hate him, and I'm not bitter or resentful. He's a good guy....we just weren't compatible on many levels. He would have stayed, but I cared too much about him to keep him in this relationship when my heart's no longer into it.
So, I'm newly single, and not currently looking. I need to get right with me before I invite anyone else into my life. I'm spending this V-Day working on myself. I'm going to workout extra hard and stay totally on point with my food journaling. Perhaps some pampering thrown in for good measure.
Yes, V-Day is a silly, commercial holiday, but it's about love, right? I loved my ex enough to set him free. I love myself.... all 245 lbs. of me. I love life with all its twists and turns, and endless possibilities. So, I will be spending V-Day happy, healthier, and at peace with all the decisions I have made this year.
So, here's to a fresh start. :drinker:0 -
This is my first Valentines day alone in 4 years. My fiance passed away last July so Im alone & it doesn't feel so good.0

Yes, single it is. It's not that big a deal for me anymore. I've learned to make the most of it.
I won't be shedding tears. I'll be shedding pounds baby! Woot woot! Stay positive my friends. :bigsmile:0 -
