trish--sometimes it's a little depression. one summer when dh was away working, i never wanted to eat. i had ensures and some pnut m&m's but anything else and i'd gak.
i agree with the advice to just push thru--and use cal dense stuff so you don't have to eat a lot in terms of quantity.
    hang in there, girl. (hugs)

katie and val--hugs to you both. you've had quite a full schedule! and thanks melissa for the words of comfort.

I FINISHED THE QUILT AND THE PURSE!!! i'll take some pics and post them sometime. i'm just so proud!
i'm bringing the quilt in to the shop today to give to a lady to do the binding. (i don't feel like learning that part yet.)

amy--how funny! i thought it was just neurotic jewish mothers that cleaned like that! glad to know it's a widespread phenomenon.

    today's goals
    drink 6 glasses water
    stay to 1400 cals
work on to-do's--mostly cleaning and putting away stuff

maybe we'll go to the library or red rock to the visitor center. idk yet.

here's to clean houses one and all! :drinker:

Melissa - Thanks for the info! I'll try that!

Stacey - Yay on the finishing your projects!

Slowly things are getting back to normal. With the migraines and illness I've had (and my kiddos and hubby) It's been rough. But on top of it all my extended family is coming to my house on Sunday for Easter. Eek! I made cupcakes for our Good Friday service and have enough left over so I don't have to bake any more desserts for Sunday. Whew! I'm also quite proud of myself, with a potluck of snack foods I only went over by 33 calories! And that's without getting exercise in either. So I've been cleaning up the house (as it was neglected last week due to the string of migraines) while being sick. Needless to say my workouts have not been happening. But today was the first day I felt almost 100% and thats with running around non-stop! I'm so stoked to get back to my normal schedule next week! No more cleaning, just fun time with kids and getting my work outs in.

That said, I'm bored with my sandwich lunches. I need a change! What are some fun low calories lunch ideas? Thanks!

val--i like eggs a lot for lunch.
scrambled with carrots on the side and/or applesauce
scrambled eggs with sprinkle of cheese wrapped up in small whole wheat tortilla and vege/fruit on side
2 hard boiled eggs cut up into a salad
frozen lean cuisine or health choice meal or ww smart ones

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter weekend.

Stacey, I think you're right in that my eating problem may stem from depression. The last few weeks have been kinda stinky with poor Grace being sick, Andy working so hard on the project at work, and so on. I just haven't been able to work out like I would like to, and I think that really messes with my mojo.

Today I took Grace to an Easter Egg hunt. We got there early to secure our spot. I was hoping with the weather, and conference, nobody would show up. There was still a tremendous turn out. We stood in the freezing wind for almost 1/2 hour. We were 2 ft away from the eggs, patiently waiting on the concrete. You can imagine how upset I was when The people in charge shouted "go" and the eggs were GONE! I had to climb over eggs with Grace just to get 2. We were so lucky we got any at all. *sigh*, at least we lucked out and got one with a prize ticket inside. Grace made off with some sidewalk chalk-- one of her favorite things.
Afterwards I went to wally world and spent hubby's hard earned cash. Hooey, that was fun! I didn't get a lot of candy (seriously, what is a 2yo going to do with candy? Kinda pointless). Just got some jelly beans, reeses pb eggs, and chocolate covered marshmallow bunnies, oh and a fancy schmancy milk chocolate with lavender candy bar for me (which will be shared with the candy). The rest of the goodies were fun stuff. I got the movies Planet 51, Curious George 2, and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs (for Andy, Grace, and I, respectively). Grace also got one of those magnetic etch a sketch drawing pad thingies. It will be very handy in the car. No lost coloring utensils as the pencil is attached!

Finally got to the gym today and easily tucked away 1.7 miles, maintaining 4.5 mph running intervals throughout. Proud to say I got a 16 min mile done! That qualifies me (technically) for Disneyland's Half Marathon in September.

    Anyway, just rambling now.

Enjoy your family time, gals, and remember the gifts that have been given to us (our families), and why we're celebrating this holiday :)

Thanks for the ideas....I love eggs! I'll have to try some of those! :)

Trish - I am having the same kind of issues. Kids and myself sick, migraines, etc. My workouts have not been occurring and it makes it hard then. I think I've gained about a pound or 2, but considering how the last two weeks have been I'll take it! :P Now that everyone seems to be feeling better (especially me!) I'm hoping to get back into it. Well done on getting that workout done in spite of everything! That takes a lot to do that!

Have all the easter brunch preparations all finished and the house is clean except the floors (gonna mop now that the kiddos are in bed) All I have to do tomorrow is pop them in the oven! :) Hope you all have a great Easter! I'm so excited to spend some time with my family, sing some easter songs and have a great Church service to celebrate the rising of Jesus. It will be an awesome day!

Ladies and little people, WE HAVE A BATHROOM!

Andy finished the floor, and we just finished installing the toilet. I was afraid we didn't get it seated right at first, but we boldly forged ahead anyway. We did have a leak that I thought was coming from under the toilet *panic* but it turned out we didn't tighten the water valve to the tank enough. Fixed that, no more leaking.
Andy did the heavy lifting, but I did most of the delicate stuff. I even used my dremel to hack off and even out part of a bolt! The bolts were kinda funny, so it took my little hands to get the thingies on em right. I did the seat, too... after which I CHRISTENED IT! Think of Mater driving on the new road in Cars, lol. Andy is installing our awesome bamboo blind in the window, and he installed all the hardware on the walls. You know-- towel rings, etc.
I think I'll give the bathroom at least a week to cure with all the caulking and stuff, buuuuut-- I GET TO SHOWER IN MY OWN BATHROOM NEXT WEEK!!!
