Love the fact that the "new" me's version of a "drown your sorrows in food you shouldn't have" these days is a rather benign measured bowl of sugary cereal. (hell, even the ice cream the other night was a normal, human sized portion in a bowl-- and the crap I reached for in other areas, only totaled about 200 calories over my daily total after exercise-- love that I see 200 calories over as "reaching for everything in sight)

Faced with some standard bullcrap, the norm every golf trip, I'd just freaking had it-- so I had my very controlled portion of chocolatey marshmallow lucky charms kinda stuff this morning--

This is where I love being new-- the old me would have kept pouring the cereal into the bowl and had 3 bowls-- I stopped. I know it's not good for me. I know it's not going to stop the aggravation. It will only compound it because then in addition to being angry at somebody else, I'll also be angry at me.

So-- go me-- still shouldn't have had the cereal, but I can log it as my breakfast-- and the only real harm is having too many grams of sugar start my day-- I'll take it.

I will never understand, never, why things are as they are-- 22 years of prayers continue to go ignored-- but, it is what it is.

We press on-- try to keep myself in check-- that's all I'm ultimately responsible for when all's said and done.

    Later-- :ohwell:

I was thinking about Marla's commment about not computing being upset that her husband is gone. It's easier when mine is gone, the mood of the house is lighter and more relaxed. He walks in the door from work and I swear he instantly starts in on the kids for something. Shoes left out, lights on, something they didn't pick up, a ball in the yard... the list is endless. The mood of the house goes from relaxed to instantly stressful. I do not miss that when he is gone- and I tell him that.

Oh, the things I'm dying to add to this discussion-- sighhhhhhh--:grumble:

    But, nevermind.:ohwell:

Hello, sorry been mia today - have had to collect Thomas from his first sea cadet camp, and this has taken up most of the day. I have also managed to fit in 2 30minute sessions on the bike 1003 calories burnt, can justify having a take away with hubby tonight  .

Getting back to hubby going away - it just takes me a couple of days to get used to the fact that he isn't around and that I can't just pick up the phone for a chat if I feel that I need to. I agree with how Lori put it, about the mood of the house etc, and as you can all tell he isn't around that much anyway, it just getting used to sleeping on my own etc etc etc etc

Marla - sorry that your run didn't happen last night, and I hope that you get a nice run tonight and get your stuff together for your 5k next weekend.

Lori - hope that you got all of your bits for the garden and didn't have to make (m)any return trips

Jeannie - we patio'd the majority of the back yard last year, so that it is easier for the little men to play out all year round. I hate mud coming into my house

To everyone else, hope you have had a good sunday and achieved what you wanted to. I am going to put 3 little men to their beds early tonight and hope that dvds and juices will give me some time to chill before it all kicks off aqgain tomorrow.

I said I wasn't going to do anything today. 1 1/2 hrs of yard work later, I'm asking myself ..Why didn't I just take the day off like I planned. Of well ! And why when he cuts the grass I sweep up but when I do the grass I still do the sweeping. His answer, oh come on you h ave your calorie burn going. Okay heading to the shower.

Didja ever hear that line of crap..."this is going to hurt me more than it hurts you" prior to a spanking?

Well, my friends, if the parent in question has severe arthritis in their hand and wrist-- it's NOT a line of crap.

    O-U-C-H--

Just had to paddle Abby for profuse complaining about her chores this day-- it definitely hurt me more than her. Mommy.

Harley is having a lot of fits lately and getting a spanking as a result. Luckily there are a lot of times when in the middle of a fit, I ask, "Do you need your bum smacked?" She'll stop fussing, and say, "No." I say, "Then knock it off," and she'll quit fussing. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work.

I remember an older woman in church once telling this 24 yr old with 3 kids under 3 " Honey the best advise I can give you is to always tell the truth. If you say you will spank them-do it. Then the next time you wont have to!"

Seems like this has played thru for lil baby doll Harley!

Oh, I do. If she doesn't knock it off her bum gets whacked. Then she calms down and gets all lovey, giving me hugs and cuddling with me. I tell her "I still love you. You just need to listen and I wouldn't need to spank your bum so much."

Evening, my friends-- had a good run with my doggie tonight. He tripped me twice, but thankfully I stayed on my feet. Stupid dog. But, I was still able to put 'er in cruise control and just take a nice leisurely run. Not as long as I thought-- 2.9 miles-- but, not so bad. It was still relaxing.

Heading to type-- I can get my morning stuff done tonight and then I can get up and just be mommy with the kids-- what a concept.

    have a great night all--

Edited-- typing update-- the audio file they sent me is nothing but static. Nothing to type tonight-- a night off! Woo-hoooooo-- AND I get to get up and just be mommy with the kids.

    Pinch me.

Well Black Team everything is great here!!

Started yesterday with a 5 mile run in an hour..in my defense did have 12 yr old with me and had to stop to use the restroom so I will take it. Not as good a time as my 49 minutes but I was alone during that run..just me and my music..

Made ok money yesterday..a friend text me yesterday saying hey do you want to have a grill out which usually been a lot of bad calories for me..I started to get nervous because I didnt want to say no but I also didnt want to jump off the wagon, so I said yeah we wil come and I told myself if I have something I am not suppost to I will just make it a bite or so..We stopped at subway just so I knew how many calories I was eating.. Went over there stayed within my calories and had 5 mini whopper..whoot whoot..To me that is a great accomplishment..

Went to work this morning, after sending both children to school not feeling well, I was not on the floor plan I was like I will go home I need to take the kids to the dr anyways, they were like by Tamara..I will take it..Daughter has appointment at 2. Gonna clean clean clean until then. My house looks like a tornado went through it.. Hit the gym this morning for 70 minutes with weights and all 686 calories burned...start my trainer tomorrow..I will keep ya'll posted. I plan on running 5 miles this evening, so we shall see..

Have an amazing day my amazing friends!!!

You know the movie Groundhog's Day where the days just keep repeating? Over and over and over? The same thing? That's my life..... started out at Lowes again. Seriously, the supply needs is neverending! I really want to hammer out most of the deck staining today and I didn't think I have enough to finish.

I can NOT wait for this project to come to an end. It was fun and exciting at first. Now it's taken over our lives and I've had enough. I do love it though.. A lot. Most of my plants and flowers are in, about half the mulch is done.

Staining over the weekend with people underfoot was not even an option, so I saved it til today when it would be just me. Hubs was supposed to help with this job. It's not gonna happen. Yesterday he putzed around for hours until I finally stained his 6 freaking boards, then he really got to work. I even told him at one point he would have to stain them if he wanted them done. No go.

The main thing I am dreading is smelling stain for hours and hours. It makes me sick. Even outside in the fresh air, you breath in those fumes. Ugh! Plus, I have a 12x24 area of floor boards to crawl around on and brush on stain. I skipped the gym. I need every ounce of what I have left in me to finish this today and let me tell you my friends, it's not much these days.

Alright, clothes buzzed, want to keep laundry moving before I head out. I'm praying the staining goes quickly. Really, really quickly. I want to go pick strawberries today. I've been wanting to go for a week and I haven't gotten there yet.

    Have a great day all.

Happy Monday friends! What a wonderful, beautiful, glorious weekend it was. Girl Scouts went fabulous. Spent $90 on 3 pair of tennis shoes (one each for me, DH and T). DH got the yard mowed and I started weeding the flower beds. Took a wonderful walk to the ice cream shoppe. Seriously. Played a great game of Mouse Trap with the kiddos. Had a late Easter cookout with FIL and the kids hunted eggs. Dylan got his first mohawk. He loves it. It's just hair right? Got my new rose planted and transplanted another one. It was just wonderful. Ending the weekend with homemade pizza, America's Funniest Videos and laundry. Couldn't have asked for better!

Week 6, Day 1 is on the schedule for today's gym workout! Loving life right now.

Hey everyone I just updated my ticker, with my miles completed for the month of march and a few days that we are already into april..Its amazing what we can do when he put it in our head...Now if I could just get past the number in the scale being up...even with muscle being up one whole percent, I might be ok..but I doubt it..

Well off to run some errands before I pick up my princess from school for dr appointment

Hi Everyone! Just got back from DC and the Cherry Blossom 10 miler! It was great! It was a gorgeous day for running and a beautiful weekend to enjoy a great city! I was so enjoying my surroundings and taking it all in along the way. I don't think I even realized I was running until about the 5th mile. I was so preoccupied with everything around me, the monuments, the sights, truly amazing. As we were justing starting in our wave, the Kenyans were coming by on their 5th mile! We were all cheering for them and they didn't even crack a smile..geez...such focus. I had a cheering section which was great. i carried my cell phone with me and gave them a heads up where I was. My time could have been better but at mile 7 1/2 I had to pee so bad, i stopped at the porta-jon. I felt like i was peeing for a minute and a half! I tried to make up the time but burnt myself out. Also didn't want to leave my wing man! She was really hurting the last two miles. All in all, I ran a 1:38 avg 9:50 pace. I was happy. Here's a finishing photo with the Washington Monument in the background.

well my life just got 1 million times worse. We haven't heard anything from hubs' work but we just found out that unemployment has run out!! I start full time school in the fall and not really sure how a full time job is going to feel about me going to school during the day. I need to find something at night. or see if I can take the days that my classes are on off.

keep your fingers crossed for us.

Sam, any fingers that aren't already crossed for us, will indeed be crossed for you.

We're in similar straits-- hubs just ran through the 3rd unemployment run-- not sure they'll be extending it any further.

    We're dead.
