He usually cooks for me, but I'm the better cook . I take my time when cooking and play with flavours, he just puts all the ingredienst together and voilá: pasta0

I cook quite well...I think.0

I'm single right now, but when I am with a man I do all the cooking and cleaning. I enjoy catering to and caring for them. Old fashioned I know, but it is what it is and how I was raised.0

I think I'm an excellent cook. I make dinner every night. I LOVE when a man can cook, but more importantly shares an appreciation for delicious, high-quality food.

I cook sometimes and do alright I think. Noone ever complains0

Single- but I love to cook for my mates and do think I'm a good cook! I cook on a daily basis for myself. But when I go to visit my dad and the boys, then I tend to voluntarily cook for everyone! It's fun and there's nothing better than satisfied, well-fed smiles :-)0

I love cooking and cook 4-5 nights of the week. My husband is a good cook too but I prefer to be organized and to sort meals out several days in advance whereas he does things more on short notice and whims. This is not a bad thing but it means that if he is tired one day- I may end up having to eat toast. :P
I don't mind cooking so much- my husband is appreciative and never expects me to have a meal ready. I think I would be less likely to enjoy cooking/ cook as much as I do if the expectation was there.0 -
my hubby cooks, hes an amazing cook .... I on the other hand burn water
ETS when we first started living together I cooked for him and would have a meal ready for him coming home from work .... however he very quickly removed me from the kitchen as he didn't enjoy the burnt offerings0 -

Now, cleaning is something we share equally in our home. Thank the gods for that.0 -

I cook for my fiance, not just dinners but making him home-made lunches to take to work. Healthier and cheaper I take pride in it, and he cannot cook! Even if he could, I'd still do the cooking0 -
i want to know the 2013 mentality, do women still do this for their men?
Not in my house any more no . I cook but it's not a must. The person that gets home earliest cooks. That's usually not me, lol!0 -
In Sweden we've come far in equality so it's not more common anymore that the woman does the cooking or any other house chore.
When I was with my ex, he was always the one cooking for me. I just love a man who can cook. It's so attractive! :bigsmile:0 -
my dad always cooked for my mom and the family , he also cleans and stuff ... i could never EVER be like that in my whole entire life . firstly im too lazy , secondly i have no interests in it , and thirdly i dont believe its the mans duty to look after the family in that aspect . just my opinion0

I love cooking and I hear I'm a great cook! I make dinner every night for my husband and son. We're all on our own for breakfast and lunch, though, mainly due to our different schedules.
Back when I was dating, I didn't care if a guy could cook or not....of course if he could, that would be a bonus. What I did actually care about was if he had the palate of a small child and would only eat a very limited, bland diet.0 -

Some do, some don't, some share the cooking and cleaning - it's not always about gender politics, but also who is good at/enjoys cooking or has the more cooking-friendly schedule. I expect my other half to take on his share of the domestic duties - I don't see any reason why they should be solely my job, on top of my working life, simply because I'm female - but how we divide them is flexible, and partly dependent on circumstance and our personal preferences.0 -
We take turns. If he did it all the time, we would live on mashed potatoes and cooked salmon. I've shown him how to simmer rice properly and slow cook a roast so his repertoire is expanding
I hate doing the washing up (although I am excellent at making the mess that goes before it) so he does all the dishwasher loading and pot-scrubbing.
It works for us0 -
I am a stay-at-home mother and I love cooking for my family. My husband works a lot to support us so the least I can do is make sure he has a nice dinner when he comes home.0

I cook, my husband washes up! We share the cleaning pretty much 50/50, although he loves gardening so tends to do more of the outdoor chores while I hoover inside0

i am the cook in our house!
the husband can cook when he puts his mind to it, but most things would end up being served with chips (fries) and beans if he had his way!! plus i enjoy it most of the time and like to think i am a fairly good cook!
the husband does more of the cleaning/tidying around the house, so i am happy to do all the cooking!0 -
My husband is a foodie and loves too cook, he does most of the cooking atm.
I can and do cook, I'm good, we both make different things.
I do most of the cleaning....although he's doing more than he used to : )0 -
I cook for my Husband, but I am also a recipe book writer so I should say... I overcook for my husband and most people in my office
My Hubby pitches in with the washing and cleaning though, he looks after my bicycle as well! Definitely a 50-50 Marriage x0 -

No

Going to go out on a limb here, but usually who ever is better at it or who likes to do it more than the other, will end up with the Lion's share. If you both stink at it, then its something you can take classes on and become better at it together. At some point, everyone likes to eat.0

i like cooking for, and looking after my husband, but i dont really like cleaning so i only do it because i have to!
the husband is much more tidy than me, so he ends up picking up after me!!!
overall we both work full time, and we split the chores 50/50.
i am 30, and was brought up with my mum doing everything for my dad - i dont agree with that!0 -
I love love love to cook for other people. Especially if its someone you know well because if you are observant you can pick out the flavours they like and make them something special. But.. On the condition that they take you oht for dinner every once in a while. Like every month lol0

My husband does most of the cooking. He likes to joke around with me saying its the woman's job.. I just kindly remind him that it is the man's job to mow the lawn and repair the vehicles... he generally heads to the kitchen at that point.0
-
When I'm with my boyfriend, I usually cook, just because I enjoy it and finds it relaxing and its quite funny seeing his face when he tastes the most delicious meals ever, lol
We try to cook together as well, being next to one another is really nice even when cooking since we have a long distance relationship.0
