shrimp and sodium.... isnt shrimp loaded with sodium?
how do you combat that?
Do you have a medical condition that indicates you should keep it low?
no... but i just want to keep it lower so i dont retain much water...
Potassium rich foods are good at mitigating this.
Yay bananas! I actually hate bananas, but eat 1 a day. If you are looking for protein and potassium, here are some good options:
1. White beans (soy, kidney, garbonzo (my fave), etc) - Protein
2. Dried apricots (these are like candy, be warned!) - No protein
3. Skim or non-fat yogurt (read the label though) - Protein
4. Salmon (but don't eat this too many times per week) - Lots of protein
5. Avocados (I hate them, but my wife loves them) - Some protein, plus good amount of fiber
6. Portabella and crimini mushrooms (SOOOO YUMMY!!!!) - Protein
Sorry, not all have protein...like the apricots...but these are all great potassium sources. Updated descriptions.0
