New week, New thread.
Not only that- it's a momentous occasion for those of us in the group that have been in it since it was first started. People have come and gone, and we love you all, but this is the 6 month anniversary of those who started Week 1. Can you believe it??? How does time fly!!!
I cannot tell you how proud I am of everyone.
*GROUP HUG*
*clears throat* ehem.... now it's time to weigh in.

YAY for 6 months!!!
I'm kinda dreading tomorrow's weigh in. Not only is TOM around, but Subway had a buy one footlong, get one free deal today so I had two 6" subs today. The sodium always makes me gain.
I really don't think I can do the 3min jog on my next c25k workout. I might have to repeat week 2.0 -

I am having a so-so week, all the pms symptoms...but haven't started yet and I feel swollen big time...this has been about 10 days now......
Hope you all do well!! I'll check in when I can.0 -
Cds - you and me both sister. I am lucky to barely make it to the gym. Its driving me crazy. And then puts me in a funk because I haven't gone like I need to. And I eat the same amount weather I work out or not so I REALLY need to work out!!!
Boss at work gave everyone $260 cash for no safety issues so I bought a new red leather purse at TJ Maxx and some stuff at Target. Took my fam to a nice dinner...And will restock the fridge that is looking pretty empty! Costco here I come!0 -

It's 10:30 at night. I ate 5 hours ago. One boozy drink, one crab cake, bread, crab artichoke dip and choco cake. Granted my stomach hasn't been right in days, but I feel like *kitten* right now. I'd make myself puke if I could. Someone PLEASE remind me I felt this way the next time I say I'm going to dinner with the fam. Idk why my stomach hasn't been good all week but man. I'm gonna have to stick to fruits and veggies for a few days to cleanse my system out. Blehhhhhhhhhh
Juicer here I come.0 -
Welcome back Heather!!!! We have missed you. To anyone that doesn't know, Heather gets the credit for starting our group!!!!(((((((((((SUPER BIG HUG))))))))))))))
CRACK!!!!! CRACK!!!!! CRACK!!!!!!! That's my whip getting us all back on track.... No more post moving blahs, PMS/TOM blahs, post vacation blahs, work sucks blahs... We are here for a reason and working on a challenge. Everyone needs to get out and exercise and eat better (now I just have to follow my own advice).
On a positive note, I am checking in today at 188. WTF!!! Yesterday the scale still said 190.5. So I am down a pound this week.
I splurged and bought myself a dozen roses for $5 at the grocery store. I smile every time that I look at them. My kitty is worse again today. I'm calling the vet and DH said he'd take her tomorrow. I bought a hula hoop yesterday - I can't wait to try it out.
Good luck with the weigh-in.
Thanks to everyone for supporting me through the good times and the bad. I wouldn't be here today or doing so well without all of your support. 6 months is amazing!!!!!!!!!! Super heroes unite!!!!!!!!0 -
Business first. Weigh in: 198.4 (+.8). No surprise as it's my TOM.
Victoria- that's so amazing that you still went down a pound even with your trip. You've really been just chugging along. You're almost at 50 pounds down :noway: That's so incredible!! And you are absolutely right with the cracking the whip. I know we've been a bit whiny the past few weeks- me included- making excuses, feeling down on myself, etc. I realize that I've hit a bit of a rut. It's a combination of things. I think I need to mix things up a bit- change my eating somehow, pump up the cardio or something. Part of it is that I'm at a weight now that I've been at the past for years a time, so I might be at a bit of a plateau, but this hovering right around 200 pounds is killing me. Clearly I need to do something. I need to think about the positives of what I'm doing and not the negatives and what is holding me back. Perhaps I need to work on setting some new fitness goal for myself. I was pretty motivated when I was doing c25k. Over 30 pounds in 6 months isn't shabby- it's a completely healthy rate of losing weight. I just thought I would be farther along than what I am now. Anyways, back to you, I hope things go okay with the cat. Let us know!
Lacey- I definitely realize now that when I eat really unhealthy, I feel like complete crap and crave some veggies and fruits like whoa.
dixiegal- great job with the no soda! It's a step! Now, let's pump up the exercise!
Carolyn- good luck with the running today. I expect to read that you did!
Heather- It's SO GOOD to see you back here! This group has definitely been a critical step in staying on top of my eating/exercise. I'm glad you've returned back to us!! Did you get a scale? If I remember correctly, you didn't use to have one. How have things been going overall in the past few months? What would you like to work on the most?
Kendal- if you feel like you need to repeat week 2 of c25k, there's no harm in doing that, but you might be stronger than you think. Why don't you try the 3 minutes and just go at a slower pace? Worth a try!
Well gals, Friday has finally arrived. I have my second group starting this afternoon. It'll be interesting, as it'll be a completely different dynamic from my last group, so we'll see how it goes. It's always a bit nervewracking, especially as the material is still somewhat new to me. The race is tomorrow. EEE! I'm going to try and hit... scratch that... none of this wishy washy stuff I've been doing... i'm GOING to hit the rec center after work today and go on the elliptical. Will not go all out probably because of tomorrow, but I need to get some good cardio in. My exercise has been slacking a bit, and I need to come up with a good routine to get back into, because I know that's key for me and my weight loss. *ponders*
Good luck with your weigh ins everyone!0 -
Sorry I haven't been around much lately...life has been hectic. Getting ready to start a new position at work and trying to get everything settled in the old one has me running like a chicken with my head cut off. I weighed in this morning at 241...up 2 pounds, BUT better than the 4 that i've been fluctuating.0
-
How does this make sense? I woke up and weighed myself twice. 230.8 both times. I *ahem* used the bathroom and was curious to see if there was a difference. Weighed twice at 231.6....WTH??? I will gladly accept 231.6 since that's still down a pound from last week (plus I'm TOMing and had way too much sodium yesterday). So yeah, count me at 231.6 this week.
Today is snack day at work. Someone brought in some kind of spicey hummus and wheat thins. Never had hummus before but this stuff tastes pretty good. Since my birthday is next week, I told my friend Alex that he HAD to bring in something this month for snack day. He asked me what I wanted and I decided to be easy and told him anything chocolate. Now there's a chocolate cake sitting in there that I will probably partake of later today. I'm going to make myself sick, like always lol
I think I'm going to repeat week 2 of c25k. I still can't go the whole time. For some reason, I die that second to last time I have to jog and end up walking through it (stay on longer and do 90s of jogging later). I was trying to focus on HOW I was running so I wouldn't hurt my calves as bad. I went faster (last night I stayed between 5.2-5.4, was doing 4.7-4.9 on the jog before), I lengthened my stride and focused on landing on the middle of my foot instead of on the heel. Legs were still burning but it wasn't as bad. And dang! it was hard to focus last night--there was sooooo much eye candy at the gym. After I finished 30 min on the treadmill, I did another 20 on the elliptical.0 -
After thinking about it last night, i have been getting whiney. no more excuses. yeah i just moved, but i've had two weeks to eat poorly and all it does is make me feel like ****. sorry, if that is too rude, but it's true. Reading what Lacey said is so right, i eat crap and then have horrible stomach issues and then eat crap again. Hmmmm....eating crap leads to feeling like crap. duh!
did my running outside today, and actually felt good about it. did 3 miles today. and the last part had a slight upgrade so that was kinda ugly, but i did it. now i'm off to the showers.
my weigh in isn't as bad as i thought it would be considering the numbers i saw earlier this week.
203.5. yeah, it's up two pounds but whatever!!
heater...just as an update......AKA posts new threads each thursday night or friday morning......and then pinobot chick keeps the charts updated.0 -
I watched this week's BL last night. If that 372 lb dude Michael can RUN 5 MILES, then I (and all of us) can sure as hell do it too! So, I'm going to print up the C25K thing and start it today at the gym. IF they can do 20 second sprints at 10 on the tready there is no reason I can't do it too.
I've got three weeks before I got to Canada and my goal before then is to run every time I am at the gym. Even if it is 1 minute on, one minute off sprints for 30 minutes. I can do it. I CAN do it! So CAN YOU!
Last week we didn't have that much $ so I barely bought any groceries and I can tell a difference in how I feel not eating much fresh veggies and fruit. NO wonder why people get so big...if you can't afford to eat healthy because boxed and processed stuff is so cheap.
So I'm heading to Costco at lunch today to buy a ton of stuff and already have a menu planned for next week full of healthy stuff.
Congrats to all of you on six months!! WOohoo!!0 -
I'm really feeling like I need to recommit myself to getting healthy. Have I fallen off the wagon? No, but I feel like I need to mix things up and be more diligent with what I put in my mouth and what all the exercise I'm doing is, What's good is I know it's become much more of a routine to eat healthier foods now and if I go more than 2 days without doing some cardio, I feel like crap, so I know I'm getting there. But, I can always be better!
I need to commit to at least 5 days of cardio a week. 6 would be preferable. Maybe that would help jump start my weight loss again, as I've really been hovering in the same 3 pound area for the past 3-4 weeks, which is uber frustrating. I know there have been times when I've taken little bites of something or another and not accounted for it, and I'm sure that's adding up. *cracks whip on self*
So that's what I need to work on for this second half of our challenge. I mean it's approaching the half-way mark, and I'm basically still where I started at it. ARGH! I know this upcoming week I should drop some weight even if I continue to do what I've been doing, as I'm currently in the midst of my TOM gain, but I really want to see if I am extremely diligent about my food choices and really commit to at least 30 minutes, preferably an hour of cardio 5 or more times a week, I want to see where I'm at. You all need to keep me in line with this, because I'm in a bit of a rut, and I need to mix things up. I've come a long way so far, but I'm only a third of my way to where I really should be at in terms of weight, so I need to keep things moving along. In terms of cardio, I need to think about a new goal for myself. Doing c25k was great, because it was something I was working towards. I want to continue working on my running time and distance. I think a goal is for the rest of this challenge, to stay mostly in the 3-4 mile range, and work on my time and comfort there, and then once our next one starts next month, start training for a 10K. I really need to set goals for myself, otherwise, it's so easy to relax and get into a rut. Need to commit to something! :drinker:0 -
It sounds like we are all in the same rut. I too am going to commit to doing more, eating better and drinking less!!!! I really need to finish my clients today and go for a run. Tomorrow morning will be step aerobics.
My darling Jenna is at the vets. Most likely toxic posioning (sp?). She will be there for a few days:( blood tests are pending. I was glad the vet could see me today - I only had to cancel 2 clients (really just moved them to tomorrow)... So now I have 5 people on Sat. Oh well - that's life. Gotta run to go see my last 2 for today.0 -
205.6
i havent been as active this week.. have a few things to do like my daughters family fun night.. then had a play date.. totally didnt make a couple classes.. eh well.. im gonna go and work out a bit tonight..0 -
I've decided to not go to the gym at all the rest of the week. Still not feeling well on top of allergies. I'm going to go home, put away the $210 in Costco groceries, make healthier Double Decker Tacos (a-la Taco Bell) and watch some movies with the fam. Tomorrow I will download some c25k podcasts so I can run without looking at the time on the tready and relax. We have Gracie's school auction tomorrow night. Sunday, walk and cook and relax.
Next week starts hell week at work. Three weeks out from the trip so planning for that, on top of my regular responsibilities, and meetings all week for our new system programming. I will be working OT and it is going to be a struggle to get the to the gym..But I WILL GET TO THE GYM and I WILL DO WEEK ONE OF C25K.
Worse comes to worse I will go to the gym at lunch and just do the C25K and take a shower and head back and work late. I can do that at the very least.
I too am in a rut. I think in the back of my mind I've realized that I can only lose very little weight before I go to Canada so what is the point. And isn't that riduculous??? So every time I think like that I will remind myself of 372 Michael running 5 freaking miles on BL this week for inspiration. Needless to say I am planning on running my yass off the next three weeks.0 -

I weighed in and it wasn't pretty....it said 207.4...that is almost another pound....I am just feeling yucky, I am sure it's TOM...even though it hasn't showed it ugly head yet....such a coward this month...throwing out all the bloating, cravings and such....yet not appearing in person.....Kids all have friends over...maybe in the wee morning hours I can catch up on posts...HUgs everyone!0

First, the vet doesn't know why my cat is sick. The lab work came back with low white blood cells and low neutrophil count. She is to spend the weekend at the vets and get a strong antibiotic. Initially the vet thought that she must have eaten a toxic substance. My poor girl. It just has me rattled. (*sighs*) Thanks for all the positive thoughts/prayers for her!!!
Second, I am so rattled over this that I couldn't get myself to workout today and definitely over ate and drank too much. I even double booked clients for tomorrow because I wasn't thinking straight - at least I realized it and was able to change the times of my clients so now I have 6 clients and a full day of work on Saturday. DH is going to the vet to visit my baby but I won't be able to get there.
We went out to eat at the local restaurant and 4 of my current/former clients were there. It's such a small world. I had a receiving line - everyone wanted to talk to me and that felt great. The clients were introducing themselves to each other and everyone wanted to meet DH.
I am off to bed and hope that tomorrow is better.0 -
Victoria, I am just catching up on posts...I am so sorry for your troubles with your baby Jenna...big hugs to you and I do hope the meds help her, possibly tomorrow she'll bounce back to normal...I'll be thinking of you both and pray for good news in the morning.

Victoria- I'm thinking of you and the kitty! I hope everything turns out okay! *BIG HUG*
Well, girls, I did it. I RAN MY FIRST RACE!!! :drinker:
It was hella early this morning for me (as it is a weekend and I like to sleep in), it was cold (38 degree) and windy, but clear and I was ready to go. As I talked about last week when I practice ran the course, it's very hilly on the way back. In addition today, the wind was blowing down onto me on the last grueling hill. The good news: I finished and I didn't walk at all! And I didn't come in last! Of course, this was my first time running with a lot of real "runners", so they took it out very quickly, and I was going a bit faster than I as comfortable with, but when the pack spread out a bit (pack is a bit of a generous word. there were only 65 runners and then probably about the same amount of walkers), I was able to set my own pace better with my roomie who was running it with me. My final time: 2.91 miles is 37:42. I'll take it! *twirls* I came in 60/65, so not even last. Woo!
I'm pretty proud of myself, and I'm definitely looking forward to signing up for another real 5K, though not sure when and which one yet. Feels pretty fab. My goal for myself for the rest of this challenge is to do at least 2 3+ miles runs a week. I know I can do that! I need to continue to build up my speed, so I can then add some distance.
Thanks for all your continued support my superhero friends!0 -
AKA congrats!!!! that must feel like such an accomplishment!!!! Very very proud of you!!
Pinbot...so sorry to hear about your baby. that is rough, hopefully everything will turn out well. i'll keep my fingers crossed.
Got out and ran again this morning. Can't believe I am doing 3 miles in 40 minutes. just amazes me sometimes.
hope everyone has a great weekend. we have a busy weekend planned catching up with old friends.0 -
Kristina- OMG THATS AWESOME!!!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:
Victoria- hope little Jenna feels better soon! Even though I'm sure the house feels empty without her, the best place for her to be is at the vets right now
As for me, I'm gonna go to the gym today ( :noway: ) and to repeat another day of week 2 of c25k. I never go to the gym on the weekend. But it'll make my day feel more complete. Then I'll come home and clean up some. Still need to pack up all my winter clothes. Then will sit in the back yard and read a book while Lexi runs around with her sweaky toys.0 -
Morning..I'm relaaxxxxxing...so nice. I feel like a blob for not working out but thats okay.
Jeff is taking Gracie into town for a few hours so I'm going to do all the girly things like plucking eyebrows and such..lol. And then I'm going go to shopping in my closet and see what I've got and how clothes are fitting now. Hopefully my nicer dressy clothes will fit better.
Congrats on your run Kristina! And you too Caroline!
On to a few hours alone....woohoo!0 -
Thanks for the positive thoughts everyone. Jenna (my kitty) is doing much better. The antibiotics helped and her blood counts are now back to normal. She definitely did not eat antifreeze and the vet still has no idea what she got into. Hopefully she will be released on Monday. DH spent 1/2 with her visiting at the vets today and said she was pretty spunky.
Great job on the run Kristina!!!! I am proud of you.
I hope everyone has a good weekend.0 -
Happy Sunday!!! It's hard to believe that we are 1/2 way through this challenge. Come on super pals - we better kick it up a notch if we are going to see results this time. It seems that quite a few people are not reporting in anymore - the ones at the bottom of the chart. I will send them a private message and if we don't hear from them by next Sunday, I am going to stop posting their results. We will give Nikki a pass for a few more weeks since she told us getting to the computer would hard since she didn't have many work hours in April.
To make it easier on me, I am going to request that you post your actual weight and not just up or down so many pounds. Thanks. I did rearrange the chart order - sorry if I accidentally deleted anyone. Just let me know.

Kristina - you talked about wanting to train for a 10K. Check out this site and you can make a custom chart for running 3 times a week to train for it http://www.runnersworld.com/cda/smartcoach/1,7148,s6-238-277-278-0-0-0-0-0,00.html and check out this way to train for increasing speed (Fartlek training) - http://runningtimes.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=12897 I plan to do this during the Thursday run.
Well gang - I am off to clean the house and do paperwork until it warms up so that I can get out for my run.0
