The goblin post stealer struck again!!! It was a nice, long positive post to you guys.

In summary - my yard is blooming (I love flowers); I spent 30 min out with Jenna despite the frost and she wore herself out playing in the sun and dirt and chasing the leaves I took out of a flower bed; I missed my run this morning but it was worth it to see Jenna moving around; I realized that I am a bad kitty mom and have been neglecting the other 4:blushing: I felt like the pied piper with a trail of cats following me around the yard. They have all been loved up now with bellies rubbed and ears scratched. I guess you could say I am out of the "cat house." 3 cats and not Jenna normally sleep in our bed (God bless the person who invented king size beds) but we have been keeping Jenna upstairs and the others away from her so she can rest and we can monitor how much food she eats. There was meowing all night at the door to be let in... I don't know if she is happier to be able to roam the house this morning or the other cats at being allowed back upstairs. They will not be happy with me in an hour when I leave and lock Jen back up. Her balance still isn't good and I'm afraid she will try to jump up to the counter or her favorite chair and fall. The life of a cat mom. I don't have kids so these furry creatures are my life.

We did decide that if Jenna goes downhill again, we will make the 4 hour trip to Lansing to see the specialists. You can't believe the difference in her 15 min after getting the shots yesterday. To us it seems like her condition can be managed or cured with meds. Who knows.

I got on-line this morning and ordered 2 new audiobooks - Iris Johansen's new Eve Duncan Thriller and David Baldacci's new thriller. I just finished Truman Capote's "In Cold Blood" for bookclub and need some lighter reading. Next month we are reading Kelly Armstrong's "Bitten - Women of the Other World". I don't know much about it. Hopefully I'll get to run tonight and listen to a book.

Thanks Debra for the "Do your best, and forget the rest" statement. I need it. For my official weigh-in, I am up 1.25 pounds from last week but since I had salt and crap - I hope some is water and will take tomorrows weigh-in (holy crap - weigh-in is tomorrow!!!!). How did another week just fly by???

Thai food sounds SOOO good. I haven't had it much since I started eating better- I think like only twice. Had pad thai when I was in Cincy and then some drunken noodles a few weeks back. Both fabulous. I just try and divide them into two meals, and now I totally want some tofu pad thai, but I won't allow myself that on a Thursday- as the sodium intake would kill my weigh in tomorrow. My scale was relatively friendly again this morning, so I'm hoping it'll stick for tomorrow's weigh-in. I really need a good loss week, as I've been struggling the past 2. This will be a bit inflated because I gained 0.8 last week due to TOM.

So the computers are still wonky across campus, so I can't really work. Their solution is to leave your computers on and they'll push the updates. Um.. I am not on campus and I'm not connected to the network all the time (laptop-duh), so I don't know when they will be fixed. This is not what I need this week. All my info is on it, so I can't get much work done. My coworker (sort of boss) said that I probably can just go home, which I might do. So it might end up being a pretty early day for me! Haha.

Still plan to get a decent run in today for exercise. It's the one week I don't have my evening group session before it starts up again next week, which causes havoc to my last chance workout opportunity. Argh!

Hope today goes well for everyone and they get a good workout in!

Today is my birfday. Shaun took me out to Logan's Roadhouse last night...yeah, I'm up to 232 today. :frown: :embarassed: I'm sure a lot of that is sodium, but still...

Joey likes to eff with my head. Yesterday he got mad at me for referring to it as "MY house" so he first asked if I wanted him to come up here and take me out to dinner for my birthday. When I said "no thank you" he said that he was coming up here for the weekend anyway. I sent him a text this morning asking if he was still planning on coming up here and he said "No. HAPPY BIRTHDAY" .....I haven't responded (and I won't) but I want to say that that is the best birthday present he's ever given me.

My dad is coming to take me out to lunch today. I feel like my weigh in is going to be completely crappy this week. And it sucks even more knowing that I saw 282.2 on Sunday. I need to stop by the ABC store today or tomorrow cause we're making jello shots for Saturday night. It'll be cheaper than buying drinks all night long when we go out. I've never made jello shots though....whats the ratio of water to alcohol do I use to make them? (will probably just be using vodka)

Zumba is tonight so maybe that'll help with my weigh in. I will be doing c25k tomorrow.

anyways, I need to get to work now....

Hey gang - I thought that I lost that last long post and was shocked to find it. Life is weird. I'll keep you posted.

Lacey - if you haven't, invest in an at home scale!!! this will save you some headaches and you will weigh less.

I've got a home scale and the dern thing always tells me I weigh about 5-10 lbs more than the one at the gym..hence me loving the one at the gym! Not so much right now. I usually only weigh on Fridays or Saturdays. This is the ONLY week I am allowing myself to get on this train. It is too annoying.

Do you use audible.com? I have a membership with the site... $24.95 a month for two books. It is wonderful. I try to make the books last for a month but almost always finish listening to them in 3 weeks. I have an email right now for a $10 credit if I buy 4 books before May 2nd, and I will use them up going to Canada, so I will take advantage of that. I don't know how the other sites are, but so far this is the most cost effective one I've found. Itunes is ridiculous expensive and there is another one that IMO was not as user friendly.

You may not understand most of what I'm going to say here...but ignore those parts, lol. I just need to rant for a minute about work.

My engineer and I have been working with a new customer to prototype some transmissions for a heavy duty train application in China. Probably to pull coal or something like that. It has been hours upon hours of work and because the line of customers goes:
our customer - his customer - his customer's customer - end user, they are all from China and our customer doesn't have a clue about this industry it has been VERY difficult to get everyone on the same page as to the capabilities of the transmissions in this application and such. (this chain of customers customers, etc. is almost standard practice when dealing with China)

Sometimes the only way I can get my customer to understand what is going on is to be very blunt with him, as professionally as possible, but blunt none the less. After yesterdays phone convo and emails, there is some tension. However I find out today that his customer took it upon himself to quote his customer and end user with some ballpark pricing and lead times two weeks ago and now is pushing me to hold to those figures. They weren't solid pricing figures and now not only have we spent Months, weeks and multiple HOURS this week alone explaining and going over the application with our customer, he is so screwed up with how things work we essentially have to start over. AGAIN.

I want to just take him out of the equation, and I very well could do it because we know who the end user is..but we are trying to be professional and such...but dealing with someone who is an intermediary for an intermediary for an intermediary for an end user, who also happens to not understand the industry, application approvals or anything seriously makes me want to guzzle Mexican Coffee's this morning!

    End rant. Thanks for listening...LOL

Lacey- that situation is understandably frustrating- when you have to go through a middleman, who tends to eff things up- ARGH! Sorry about that situation!

Well, for me today has been sort of crazy and all over the place. I was on campus this morning, gave up on the computer issue, went home, to be called back to campus an hour later b/c the IT guys were manually fixing all the computers. I hope in my car, and I get there just after they've left for lunch :grumble: But, they do come back about 45 min later and are able to fix both my work laptop and tablet. Whew!

But yeah, not the easy going Thursday I thought I might have. I'll have more work to accomplish tomorrow before my afternoon group thanks to this, plus I have to meet with my supervisor for the review, as she failed to show up for our meeting yesterday.

Eating has been good today- should stay on target for weigh in tomorrow. I still will go for a run this afternoon- I just want to wait until after 4ish or so, so if someone still needs me for work, I'm available, but I'm definitely ready to get my run on. I need to plan a fun park run or something for this weekend if the weather decides to be good (doubtful). We'll see!

Ran 3.78 miles today. I started off pretty peppy, as I was looking forward to it, but got tired pretty quickly. I think my legs were more tired from this week than I had thought. But I finished though, in 47 min (12:26min pace average), which is pretty amazing, as I felt like I was moving like molasses. Proud of myself for reaching my exercise goal this week, as I really set a high goal from now on- did at least 30min of cardio 6 out of 7 days (goal was 5) and ran 3+ miles twice (my goal was that, also ran a 2.9 mile one. other runs were 3.78 and 4.2). *pats self on back*

Dear scale, don't let me down tomorrow. k, thanks, Kristina

Happy Birthday, Kendal!!!! I'm a firm believer in enjoying your birthday, so my vote is eat what you like and get back after it tomorrow.
Kristina and Pinbotchick- you are my running heros!!! Come on Kendal! We can do it!!!
Having a pretty good day- a little hairy this morning with lots of admissions, but settling down now. My eating is on target- I just hope the last 4 good days outweigh the bad weekend of festival food and beer. PS Kendal- the recipe we have used before for Jello shots is- 1 box of jello, made as directed on the box, but replace the cold water with whatever alcohol you choose. We used vodka. I don't recommend the cherry jello with vodka, as it turns out tasting like cough medicine.
And for any other fellow readers out there- Dianna Gabaldon's Outlander series is awesome! Good luck to everyone tomorrow~

Yes - I use and love audible. The last time a bought a package I got 24 credits for $220. It's been awhile since I got a package. I have many on my list that I haven't listened to yet. I need more time in the day.

I second spfraser's recommendation for Diana Gabaldon's series!!!

    smiley-eatdrink004.gif HAPPY BIRTHDAY KENDAL!!!!! smiley-eatdrink055.gif

Enjoy your day. For jello shots, we use 1/2 water and 1/2 liquor. I like raspberry vodka with raspberry jello and Gin with lime jello.
