As soon as I saw the first picture....I knew! My daughter's scar matches yours. Decompression at 14 and now at 18 doing great.

This is a great post all the way around. Your success is amazing and having watched my daughter deal with the crazy crippling symptoms of this condition, I so appreciate how you hung in there and did not give up the fight on any front. Can't wait to show her your post.

    Well done zipper head!

How am I only reading this now?!!!

Wow, talk about life hitting you, you got freakin' sucker punched!

On a much brighter note, you look freakin' fantastic. Now that's been a few months since your surgery, how are you doing?

    Truly, you're inspirational.

I had a Chiari decompression on the 6th of December 2012. Now I am back at the gym, doing weights, running etc. Scar is completely covered by hair. Very few symptoms now except if I overdo things.

Be kind to yourself and let your body heal. Hard to do when you have been so active but necessary to avoid setbacks.

Your story almost mirrors mine except you kept the weight off. From my diagnosis to after surgery I have put on 10kg + :(

Mostly because I felt sorry for myself because they wont let me do martial arts anymore. Now I am back motivated and feeling fit and happy again. Hoping they will eventually let me compete again. Maybe :)

so glad they finally found out what was wrong with you.

Truly inspiring story and yes I see this as healthy eating for the rest of my life and NOT a diet.

Hope you are able to drive/exercise soon.
