I drink 48 oz. of water from my Tervis Tumbler every day at my desk. This does not include my morning double shot espresso, 1-2 cups of decaf green tea, and 24 oz of water at the gym.

I have the bladder of a 5 year old so it seems like I make trips to the bathroom once every hour or so.

    I drink:
    2 cups green tea
    4 cups half cap/decaf coffee
13 - 16 cups of water (note cups not glasses which vary in size) - this includes water during work outs

I am still in the bathroom alot.

I have been a Type 1 Diabetic for 24 years. I normally don't drink water. In fact this past year I went 6 months without even a cup of water. My blood sugars are great. My A1c is 6.3 and dropping.

My questions is has anyone out there that is a Diabetic had a problem drinking too much water and having it affect their blood sugar?? I started last Monday drinking 16 cups of water a day. I weigh 268.5 which is 16 cups of water if you do the half your weight in ounces like I have read about. However, my blood sugar has been extremely high for the last week. Which is not normal for me. I have been unable to get my blood sugar below 240. The past 3 days I have been unable to get it below 370. I am wondering if drinking too much water can affect blood sugar levels. I have not changed my diet or my medications. The only thing that is different is the amount of water I consume. If anyone out there has heard or had a similar problem please let me know!

I am diabetic so feel it is important to stay hydrated. I constantly have a glass of water or herbal tea beside me . I read that you should drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces every day. I think it is especially important if you are wanting to lose weight -

^^^^ this is what ive always read

    ^^This - So I aim for a gallon a day.

On average 12-16 cups/day sometimes more very rarely any less. I've noticed the more I drink the thirstier I feel, and ever since I bought a measured water bottle (32 oz Nalgene is my preference) I drink more--not sure why, just a mind game I suppose.
