Just because I'm nosey, when you squat, do you add 250 in addition to your body weight?

How long have you been power lifting? Keep up the good work!

Body weight counts for 0lbs in a squat, regardless of how much one weighs! :)

    Very impressive OP!!

You rock!! I've been working the NROFLFW and just finished Stage 1. here are my best so far (I am 5'2" and weigh 125):

    Deadlift 115#
    Squat 120#

Won't begin bench presses until next week...this should be interesting.

I'm 5'5" and 139 pounds. I do kickboxing twice a week and lift heavy 4 times per week (will down shift to 3 times per week when my fat loss challenge is over in April), and of the lifts you mentioned, these are my 1RM:

    Deadlift 155
    Bench Press 100
    Squat 170
    Leg Press 560

Obviously my upper body is much weaker than lower body, lol.

Jeezzzus! 250 lbs squat. That's Insanity.
The only thing I've tried for PR lately is my dead lift which is at 215lbs

I power lift and I love it!
I'm 5'5" and about 126lbs. My current work set weights are:

    Squat: 140lbs
    Deadlift: 155lbs
    OHP: 60lbs
    Bench: 80lbs

I've never really tried for a PR on a 1RM yet.

Fairly new to the powerlifting scene but here are my stats:

    5'8" - 200 lbs

    Deadlift: 225 for 4
    OHP: 75 for 5
Bench: 115 for 3 (I've only benched once but my trainer thinks I can definitely go heavier)
Squat: 115 (my form goes to crap when I break parallel -working on it though)
    Leg Press: 405 for 4

Note: these are my PR's but not my 1RM.

I also box, kickbox, take bootcamp classes and do Insanity. I lift heavy 4 days a week and rotate the others in on cardio days.

OP: do you squat using a barbell or a Smith?. If that is a free weight max for your squat that is fooking heavy - push that deadlift - you can get that higher

Ive alwasy been interested in weight lifting, last year played with boxing/kick boxing. I seem
To migrate towards the more hardcore activities, hiking turned Into climbing mountains? Running turned
Into several mud runs (second tough mudder this June).
I do own my own tires for flipping... Lol 150, 250 & 350 lbs.

I just started lifting heavy, i joined CrossFit last month and am
    Loving the Oly lifts...

    My progress So far...
    Dead lifts 215
    OH press 95
    Clean and jerks 115
I know I'll be lifting heavier fast, these are my first PR's as I've been trying out the movements. I love it... I'm hooked!! :)

I don't power lift but have flipped a tire or two and thrown them, pulled them and anything else you can do in my functional fitness classes. I throw around some heavy kettle bells, usually 53 pounds.

I am really interested in working in some lifting. I just don't know how to get started and am a little intimidated. Do I need a trainer?

Yes I do. When I do it by myself I use a smith machine to ensure if I need help I only have to turn the bar. Other wise I have a squat rack in my bedroom and my husband spots me.

Oh and It will be one year in june.

I started with a personal trainer yes. I still use him just not for lifting.
