What was your first car?

A friend's post (and this being "throwback Thursday" and all) got me thinking about this....

Mine was a 1977 Buick Lesabre (in 1986) that might as well have been a boat…four doors, a big V8 engine (gas was cheap then, so $10 lasted a while)…and it fit like 7 or 8 teenagers in it and head to the beach (and sometimes even a couple could hide in the trunk to sneak extra people into the drive-in movies).

I saw the odometer roll over 100K (in those days, the old cars rolled to all zeros after 99,999). Lots of good times and memories of that one....I still have dreams about it.

It looked like this..but red (and red interior)

So, what was yours?

Followed by a roomy boat like this one:

I still miss the Volvo wagon.

I don't know how to upload pics to forum posts... still! So I put a copy in my profile pic...
I can just picture tiny little you riding around in THAT Heidi hahaa

My first 'car' was a 1984 ford econoline service van from the family's oil company (got it in 1998). WOW what a large, noisy, piece of junk! I would pull into the lower parking lot at high school and the kids would PILE in the back, we'd smoke cigarettes and be late for first period constantly... I had to get rid of it after driving home from Happy Wheels at midnight and on the highway the lights short completely shorted themselves... wow, those were the days! ;)

That's SO much cooler than my old-man Buick was

I followed mine with a 1984 Ford Escort that felt like a go-kart and immediately missed the safe feeling of the giant cruiser that I'd complained about for so long...

1990 Ford Tempo...total hoopty that only lasted a year before a transmission rod fell out.

Next car was an '89 Olds Cutlass Calais...I LOVED that car. My ex-husband totaled it 30 miles outside of Reno when I moved here. I should've listened to that omen...:grumble:

I had to buy the MG myself. My parents were content to pass on my grandmother's 1983 Buick Skylark to me when I turned 16. With the thought of that poop brown carbeast looming over me, I got my first summer job at 13 and keep working odd jobs until I could buy it. They're fun cars, but a b*tch to maintain. Every now and then I'll see one for sale, and I have to fight the urge to buy another one.

    1982 S-10 Chevy in tan

Hated that truck, but it was really a trooper, made it through two teenagers and 25 years are hard use before it bit the dust
