Mine had original rims but a 350 small block v-8 out of a 72 Vette. My step-dad (RIP) really knew how to hook a kid up!0 -

Buying a 1997 BMW 540i in the coming months.
I'll consider this my first car because it'll be the first car that I will own completely without a loan, or with the cost being subsidized by someone else.0 -
A dookey brown Chevy Celebrity. I totaled it. Killed a tree. And miraculously got out of it with not a single scratch. I owe it to weightlifting @ that time; had one helluva grip and held on for my life! Lol0

66 Chrysler newport (think the lyrics from the song Love Shack "Chyrsler as big as a whale" - what that song doesn't mention is the 440 engine under the hood! Loved surprising muscle cars off the line with that thing!)

78 Honda Civic (with baja racing parts so those little hamsters inside could get a hummin! More surprising of the guys and their muscles cars that would pull up next to me revin their beasts. hehe)

OMG, First semester of college I worked as a waitstaff and sent the money to Mom and WHAM this is what I could afford. It was an eighties something Blue two door Granada Ford. She was sweet, with shiny rims and squeaked do to lacking shocks, LMAO. I was able to transport all of my seven girlfriends in it. We were tired of riding in Jen’s Nissan 300Z hatch area, LOL.:flowerforyou:0

IN 1989--a 1981 Red Ford Fairmont. My dad bought it from a neighbor who thought the engine was froze up. Got it for $200. Turned out the fuel pump was cracked and the gas had oil in it. Dad fixed it and I had an awesome car. Down the road, a few years later, it had a bad front main seal and smoked from underneath whenever we were stopped at a light. Hence, the name was coined "the Fairmont from Hell." Bought that car in Orange, TX and it met its demise in a snow bank in Walworth, WI.--after about 3 trips carrying a 6x12 loaded trailer. LOL0

Old crappy Kia Sepia. It made funny noises all the time, it was a manual transmission and wouldn't ever go into first. It was a piece of junk.
I loved it because it signified my newly found independence.0 -
'74 VW Beetle
It looked pretty much like this one...I bought it from one of my dad's friends who collected them and rebuilt them, so it was in pretty much show condition.
I loved that car. I started working at the roller skating rink when I was 15 to be able to buy it for my 16th birthday. Unfortunately, it was totaled when I was hit by a drunk driver a couple of years later.
My VW was cherry!0 -
1980 Datsun (pre Nissan) 510
It made all the ladies swoon... or was it laugh.... I can't remember.0 -
My first car was a pinto, not the wagon but a hatchback. I loved that car. My friends and I thrashed that thing, and it just kept on going.
Now the first vehicle that I bought for myself was much more my style. 1963 Chevy Stepside 3/4 ton pickup. I loved that truck. We called it Thor, and it was a beast!!0 -
A friend's post (and this being "throwback Thursday" and all) got me thinking about this....
Mine was a 1977 Buick Lesabre (in 1986) that might as well have been a boat…four doors, a big V8 engine (gas was cheap then, so $10 lasted a while)…and it fit like 7 or 8 teenagers in it and head to the beach (and sometimes even a couple could hide in the trunk to sneak extra people into the drive-in movies).
I saw the odometer roll over 100K (in those days, the old cars rolled to all zeros after 99,999). Lots of good times and memories of that one....I still have dreams about it.
So, what was yours?
My first vehicle was a 1987 YJ Jeep Wrangler ~ Rugged tropical terrain-worthy she was. By the time i'd inherited her from my Dad, she was already 5 years old and a year later, my sister got to have her, whilst I'd left for England; 2 years after that ~ our brother :-) She was our initiation vehicle - Stick shift traditional.
