I am a cheapskate by choice but if I buy or do anything "frivolous" it still would be flowers for my yard or a massage or manicure. I am too picky to have someone clean my house.

    1) Housekeeping (every 2-3 weeks just because my fiance and I work long hours, and we have a pretty good deal on one.)
    2) Spa (massage, waxes, wraps)
    3) Nail salon (only 1-2 times a month)
    4) Blow outs
    5) Fitness boot camps (4 times a year)
    6) Car washes*
    7) Oil changes*
    8) Cable (because I lived without it for 2 years... we just came back to the dark side 2 months ago)

*Not sure if these would be considered frivolous?

Also considering axing my LA Fitness membership and getting an Equinox one..... frivolous?

I have no frivolous spending habits. But I'd like to have some some day.

I have a cleaning lady who comes in weekly (does upstairs one week and downstairs the next) and a lawn service that mows the yard every other week. It's the only way I can keep up.

We have a guy who comes and mows the lawn every week. A housekeeper would be nice though!

I like to clean, so no to a maid service...

I like beer, getting my nails done, my hair done, my pandora charm bracelet, coach purses, lululemon, cable, need I go on???

To some my gym membership is frivilous, but it has been instrumental in my succes so they can suck it LMAO!

Everything. I like to spend. A lot. It brings me happiness. I need to work on my food bill though.

In this country where I live now (as opposed to where I was born), everything is ****ing expensive, especially services. So no way. Everything is DIY baby!! Where I was born we used to outsource everything!! Like EVERYTHING!

I have a housekeeper come about once a month. When the kids were in diapers we had a cloth diaper service. Loved that!

I have a personal trainer, everything else I do myself because I need the extra exercise anyway. (clean, mow lawn, etc)
I also see my beautician once a month, as well as getting my nails done every two weeks. It might be a bit much but it makes me happy.

Wow, never knew people got housekeepers/maids.

For me personally, I'm pretty cheap, I do everything myself. No housekeeper, no lawn guy, no personal trainer. I wash my own car and do all of the work on it (none of my cars have been to a shop in 15 years or so). I do 99% of the stuff around the house and in the yard. The only thing I have someone do is clean my furnace once a year. And some major projects, such as hiring people to replace my roof and build a new driveway.

That way I can save money and spend tens of thousands on cars, computers, firearms, home theater and beer. And my wife. Woo hoo!

Do you use a housekeeping service (or housekeeper)?

Both. Regular housekeepers for the day to day requirements of the household (I live in the wild, so nature needs to be controlled daily -less me). I like things clean and tidy, so I have them on shifts. That way, they get to work for the maximum amount of hours and rest for the humane part of my conscience. lol. I use the housecleaning service for deep cleaning once a week and deep deep cleaning per seasonal change. The housecleaning service is also extremely convenient after a function hosted in the home. 24hr ones are my favourites, most especially when they're armed with steamers and bacteria killing lamps. (I'm a SUCKER - Major SPLURGE!
    A personal trainer?

Yes. For weight lifting, aerial yoga/pilates/ pole work, martial arts, dance and other specialised interests.
    A meal service?

Lately? No. I do hire caterers though, if the volume exceeds my ability and time frame. Nothing beats cookin' up a storm yourself. ;)
Or other expenses some might consider "frivolous"?

Frivilous to others, but totally a need for me:

Estate manager, Driver(s),Laundress(normal clothing), Laundress(delicates), Linen laundress(towels, sheets etc), 4 gardeners(5 days per week - I hate hate HATE weeds and dead leaves/plants), Honey-Do-list(Handyman) and I house all my domestic staff within close proximity to my residences. I also provide 2 meals daily and a weekly supply of organic vegetables+ vegetarian durables like legumes etc to ensure that they are eating.

    ETA: typo

If you pay somebody to do physical chores around your home and you're overweight, I think you've found the problem.

Trainer - yes, I cut that back from every week to every other. Pedicures - regularly during sandal season, but cut that out in the winter. I would like someone to clean my house, but I think the personal trainer is a better investment.

Books. I don't consider it frivolous spending, but I bet DH does. And I spend a fair amount at local nurseries and garden centers.

I've broken my Sephora habit to free up cash for books and gardening stuff.
