Friend requests. Message vs no message

Do you decline friend requests if there is no message?
Do you send friend requests without adding a message?

I tend to decline requests without messages, and always send a message when I want to add somebody. Now I'm wondering what other people do.

Sometimes I'll accept an FR without a message. It just depends. No profile pic or any info in their profile, I definitely decline. But if the person has a pic and a decent description of what their goals are, sometimes I'll add them, esp if they seem to need support.

I always send a message with FR's, just because I think it's a way to connect with someone. Why bother being "friends" with someone on a board like this if you don't plan on having some type of connection, like support or friendship?

I always add a least a brief not when sending. When receiving, I will generally accept, but may decline based on other factors.

If there's no message I'll ask all my amazing friends if they know them...after getting replies like "he has a small pen!s"..or "no their name is stupid don't add them" I decline.

If there is a message...I usually accept.

If they do not send a message, I rarely accept.

This! I've even surrounded my request for a message with asterisks and people still miss it?! I almost accepted a guy because he was cute, but then I thought maybe that's why he thought he could get away with no message, so I declined. Take that, cute guy!

I always send a message and I now only accept FRs with messages.

I used to accept FRs without a message, but found that most that did this were not overly active and often just friend collectors. I try to keep my friend list manageable so I can ensure that I interact with my friends.

I send a message with a request I make but I don't really care if a FR comes with a message or not. I figure I can always go back and delete if I end up not liking someone that's added me.
