I felt the same when I done my pregnancy test. I was gutted that it was negative, even though me and my boyfriend have discussed this and we are waiting until the beginning of next year, so probably around the same time as you. I honestly wouldnt worry or feel like and idiot because you cried, because we have both done it so loads of other women must do it.

Just look forward to getting through this year and then statred a family next year. Thats what I am trying to do

I have an question, I would love all your opinions:

I haven't seen my parents in 4 months. We are going to see them this weekend, and I am really excited to see if they notice a "change" in me, since I am about 20 lbs lighter. My DH said I shouldn't get excited, since it is harder to notice if you haven't seen someone in a long time (I guess he thinks you forget how a person looked after 4 months). I feel like you notice it more when you dont see them for a long while. What do you guys think, do you notice weight loss in people more when you see them everyday, or when you don't see them for a while?

I think it's easier to notice if you haven't seen them in awhile, but either way you're doing a great job so no worries if they don't notice! I know for me people didn't start noticing until I was really close to my goal weight, so I'm not sure where you are on that scale, but be proud of yourself no matter what!

I would love to join this group  My husband and I are planning on trying to start adding on to our family next month. I have lost 18 lbs so far, but really need some great motivation in order to lose more before I get pregnant. It's such an exciting thing, and I want to make sure I feel the best I can going into it. I would like to lost at least 10 more pounds before getting pregnant, but whenever it happens it will be such a blessing!

    Okay..so:

We're going to try. For June. And if we aren't pregnanct in June (I know, I know, no pressure, right?) we are going to wait until Christmas.

Here's the reason: it works with my nursing school clinical rotation.

    So...yay!

    BIG YAY!

Questions: I need advice about Clomid. Everything and anything you can tell me. How long does it take to work (assuming no further complications)? When do you start it in the cycle?

    H-E-L-P!!!

jalara -- not sure about your clomid question. I know someone who tried for a long time and couldn't get preggo, then she started on clomid and preggo almost immediately. I'm not sure when she started on it though.

I'm still on my last 7 lbs, which was last 5 about a week ago before we went out and ate out for an entire week, can't seem to shake this weight off.

What workouts do you do to see your results?

Jalara and Tahmed - good luck with your "June activities"
  • hey there gals just checking in, finally done with school for this term can't wait to enjoy my break heading on a cruise in a few weeks for some much needed R&R.

As far as the earlier question about when someone can tell weight loss I have people that see me every week and I lost about 15 lbs and it took them about a good month to notice after I maintained the loss. Although now it doesn't matter with a baby its more like how do you feel? I always say fine or eh just because I don't think everyone is really interested in hearing bloated and gassy  haha.

Weigh in 165.8 I keep yo yoing with this one lb up and down. Hopefully getting a appointment soon and then I will know my true EDD.

Good luck to all those that will be TTC this summer. Have fun trying ♥

How about a framed picture for Dad's with a sonogram pic?

I think a digital frame would be a good gift. They even make some that are like a digital scrapbook so that dad can keep track of his little one growing up without doing the traditional scrapbooking - usually mom's area. He could even take it to work or with him if he traveled. You could go ahead and upload music and ultrasound and your growing tummy pics on it....

ok so haven't posted for a while. manged to lose a small abount bu thats put me at 200.6lbs which is almost getting me below the 200's

i have a question for some of you out there who've been on he pill and come off of it.

I stopped taking the pill April 2009. at the beginning my cycle returned to normal almost straight away so 30-32 days. I then torn my ACL in november and had surgery on my knee, with a combination of stress and tablets my cycle was at 51,57,56 days. i then went back to my usual for like 2 months and now at 50 day i'm still waiting.
i don't feel stressed at the minute, i am relocating but i'm excited about it.
do you ladies think this is normal? i will be going to see my doc when i get back to the uk in August. I haven't been to a doc here in Dubai as they can be.....interesting to say the least and i'm not very comfortable with the ones i've seen and heard about via friends.
my husband and i have been careful well most of the time as we dont want to start TTC till december.
    thoughts anyone?

    1) Eat fish this week! It's super good for you (and baby)!
    2) What is one of the little moments you are most looking forward to as a mom (or enjoyed, if you're a veteren)?

Answering the challenge...If I liked fish I would eat it, I know how good for you it is! I haven't found anything that I like as far as fish goes :ohwell:

What am I looking forward to the most? Well, first of all I think the feeling of having a baby kicking inside of you has to be one of the most surreal, awesome feelings there is. What a blessing a baby is! We're very excited

Hi ladies!! O what a horrible wekk. I have been way off target with my eating and lack of exercise. Also, my Zumba instructor is moving to China, boo. I really don't want to step on the scale to see the damage. I'll let you know tomorrow...

    ~*~soon-to-be-dad for father's day gift~*~
I don't know much about your hubby, but I would get him concert tickets or something where he can really go out and enjoy himself. Once the baby comes it will be a little harder to get out. I like to picture frame ideas. Just joking, but maybe a baby pack and tell him you carried the baby for 9 months now its his turn. Good luck let us know what you decide!

    :flowerforyou: Challenge: :flowerforyou:
    1. I LOVE salmon! I have it atleast once a week! I will enjoy every bit or bite of this challenge.
    2. Haven't had any babes yet but, I agree, the baby kicking will be a pretty awesome feeling... I have God daughters and the look when they first wake up is great. It seems like they are looking right thru you to your heart. I can't wait for that feeling with my own.

lucy - my cycles have always been irregular (even on the pill), so I'm not sure I'm the best person to answer your question, but I find that if my exercise routine changes my cycles are a little delayed, like if I'm working out a little more/less than normal. It's possible you are exerting yourself a lot more with all the packing etc.

    challenge questions
    1. I'm vegeterian, no fish for me. So, I've already failed! :embarassed:
    2. the smile, have you seen that new kodak commercial with the dad and the new baby, I about melt every time that baby smiles. :smooched:
  • :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: Jalara great challenge:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
My husband loves sushi now so I think I will grab something cooked when we head out one of these nights. I am a big fan of salmon.
I think that the one thing I am looking forward to is feeling the baby hiccup its just so funny  to think about, plus I hate the hiccups personally but to have them via the baby sounds like a good trade off.

As far as father to be gifts that is a tough one A fun t-shirt announcing his upcoming fatherhood might be good if you can find one that is cute enough and definitely something he enjoys I am getting my DH a Jamba Juice card he loves smoothies.

I wouldn't worry about the missed period as of yet, unless you are missing 3 months worth than there are a ton of reasons that could cause you to be late: change of diet, change of exercise, stress, pregnancy, etc, etc, etc. :-) You can certainly check with your doc when your home but it's usually considered normal

Speaking of water retention - I had no ankles yesterday - LOL. I went to dinner with a friend of mine on Tuesday and ate my most FAV spinach and artichoke dip.....the sodium got the best of me. So from the last 2 days I've really watched what I consumed....not the best look when dresses and skirts are the most comfy with this heat. :grumble: Oh well - 14 more weeks until my little ray of sunshine should be here. Crazy to think that - we are starting the nursery this weekend. Get got the nursery furniture this week too....so cute and modern. Have you been on http://projectnursery.com - it's my FAV site

Yay! Down .4 lbs, it's little but I'll take it! CW 152.8 lbs. (Goodie in the 52s)

My DH went roller-blading as i went running last night for the first time. I have been craving a run. I have hated running all my life, weird. I am a dancer, so my body is used to small bursts of cardio, so its going to take a while to train it to run but it's feeling good so far. It was really nice to spend some time together and be productive and exercise instead of sitting infront of the tv. I can see this becoming a habbit!
Also, I shared with him that I may not be able to get preggo for atleast 6 months to a year because of me being on the depo shot and he said "that's not what I wanted to hear..." Maybe its a blessing tho. We are planning a Hawaii trip in December. (we never had a honeymoon) I don't think I would like to be preggo in HI. Man, I just wish I had some clue as to when I will go back to normal....
Anyway, Cali, that is a very cute site! I know what I will be doign for a bit! :) I can always plan can't i?

So I started charting my temperature - wahoo! This is going to be fun!!!!!!!!!! FI is getting excited too.

Also, we decided to move. We found another great apartment, that is bigger, has 2 bathroom and 5 appliances, for $250 less than we're paying now. It doesn't have the convenience of living downtown, but that's okay. We move at the end of June - we're already planning the baby's room. (love the site Cali). My theory - I want to pick out the crib, dresser, change table and stroller, and we'll get everything else 2nd hand. So exciting!

I really hope it's this month!

It's been a while, but I'm down 3. I was down to 136 but I keep going between 136-138. I just found out I'm having another baby! YAY! Due Feb. 1st 2011! Anyway, does anyone know how many calories to eat when preggo? Just trying to eat healthy and watch it. I'm still not at my pre preggo weight from my first so I want to make sure that I don't gain 50 again! Thanks!
