For the record, these are all pretty much "afters"...
I have been on MFP for three years. This is a pic of a "before" MFP and a mid-year of my first full year of lifting:
I was 40% bf and 174 lbs to start. I do also do cardio. I love running. I do HIIT and I also do crossfit style exercises (like bear complex) but my primary focus for the last year has been lifting heavy. I do Windlers 5/3/1.0 -
Excellent.

Wanted to say I do cardio too. Always have. It became less often as I started focusing more on lifting. But I love running.
I want to note for any runners who may not lift, the very first thing that brought me to lifting was actually running. I ran a half marathon at 174 lbs and it killed my knees. I started doing squats and lunges to protect my knees. Now I can run a half marathon and walk two miles after and function normally the next day. It's amazing (I'm sure losing 40 lbs also helps!) but I credit the better running to lifting. I know that thought is not popular, but I literally hadn't run in forever before I did my last half marathon.0 -

Great pics! You look amazing. :flowerforyou:0

OP speaks true. I lift heavy but my body fat is about 23% so I look "softer" too. I have nice contours and definition, but I'm not ripped. Soft or ripped are both cool looks as far as I'm concerned. It all looks good to me. :flowerforyou:0

I don't understand how the rational thread got DELETED and the banging-my-head-against-the-wall one only got locked. But happy this one is up now. You look awesome, OP. :drinker:0
