I'm still debating on what to name him, its between Blu or Diesel. LOL!
He is a purebred blue & tan colored German Shepherd. (The blue color is caused from a recessive gene that fades out the black color, so his nose, eyes, and fur is a silvery / gray color) He is 9 weeks old, and yes he is huge!
A couple of more months, and he will be my joggin partner!
EDIT** Both his parents were OFA'd and have great hips according to their X-rays! So genetically speaking I have no worries regarding Hip Dysplasia. We definitely will not start jogging with him until he is out of his growing phase. I’m also not top of the line jogger either, so while he grows, I hope to be able to reach at least 2-3 miles without having to stop and walk for a minute. Haha! This will be a fun experience for both of us.
EDIT** Here is an awesome website explaing all the colors that German Shepherds come in. I know most of us are used to seeing the old fashioned "Rin Tin Tin" look alikes. But there is definatly more to this awesome breed!

Nope, not coming through.0

Yeah, pics.
I have always loved running with my dogs.
But, you have to be careful with the big dogs. They tend to want to go faster than you do !0 -
Beautiful dog. I'm glad he's got some water to swim in!0

I saw the pics in your profile. He is beyond adorable!!! And he is going to be a biiiiiig boy, LOL! Have fun though - he looks like a sweetie :happy:0

Either name sounds great. Congrats (wish I could see a picture).
I got an Australian Shepherd (named him Ranger) for Christmas and he is my walking / jogging partner, along with our boxer / pit bull mix female.
Everyone told me that I shouldn't push him too hard, he was just a pup and would not be able to handle walking for long periods of time, but boy, were they wrong. He's about 7 months old now and he gives me a workout.
Have a good time with him. I always feel it's safer with a dog, especially one that might cause people to look twice before bothering you. You never know what kind of people are out there!
I see some pics now. Thanks!
Now that I look at him, he looks like a Diesel to me!0 -
Click her profile and you can see pics. Very cute puppy!0

I love the ears. Neither of my shepherds came as pups but I was able to find a puppy pic of one from the breeder.
My oldest guy lives to run with me, he's 10 so we don't go as far anymore. Enjoy the pup!0 -

Name him after some running shoes :P. I have a furry running partner too, her breed is blue-ticked stumpy tail. She's fun to bring along but be warned - You will learn where every single tree along your path is located.0

Awwwww, he's sooooooo ADORABLE!! Congratulations!0

Awww, congrats! My mom's German Shepard LOVES to run.0
