    Chia seeds don't work !!!

I took chia for a few months without any problems but now even the tiniest amount of chia (either whole seed or ground and after being soaked in water) gives me excruciatingly intense stomach pain, sweats and difficulty breathing for 6-8 hours.

I've seen a lot of people on the web saying the same thing.

There are side effects to chia - including cancer

Chia + blueberries + Greek yoghurt = amazeballs.

Add strawberries, blackberries, raspberries and flax and I agree with you. Healthy yummy meal for anytime of the day!!

i usually add them to my oatmeal. i see lots of people adding them to shakes. haven't tried that yet because they get pretty thick in liquid, so i'm not sure i would care for that texture in a beverage. but one day i'll try it out

have you tried making jam with them? I just mash up some strawberries, a squeeze of lemon juice, a drizzle of agave and chia seeds. Over night it turns into a thick jelly. It is awesome. Raw, vegan, no preservatives. I put it in yogurt, on pita, etc. It is AWESOME. I have not tried it in shakes or anything else. And I can't stand the texture of tapioca, or cottage cheese.

Has anyone compared chia seeds with flax seeds? Seems to me that one portion of the latter gives more than one portion on the former in re: to various macros. Just curious.

I think the nutritional profile is about the same for both seeds.

No need to limit yourself to one choice, a little variety goes a long way.

And it keeps you full!!! Best of all, ever since taking chia seeds, I clogged my toilet every other day!!! I am stoked about chia seeds!!

I almost needed a Heimlich maneuver performed on me, after reading that, given that I 'choke-laughed' in reading about the excitement regarding toilet clogging ;)...

Well, if there happens to be any sort of chia seed -specific advertising or promotional body, then I dare say, the slogan of the first ad campaign has been coined by MFP's very own jamiep926... "Chia Seeds: They'll keep both you AND your toilet full. Brought to you by the Chia Seeds Ad Consortium, and Plumbers Local 743." ;)

coffee. out of my nose. thanks for that.

Any time I make a protein shake, I add a tablespoon of chia seeds. Great way to get some fiber and an extra 5g of protein!

I'm really not sure why you think clogging your toilet is good.
