I like Mary Kay's tinted moisturizer (spf 20). I like it because I'm only using one thing for moisture, foundation and sunscreen, so I don't have a lot of stuff on my face in the summer.

Look for mineral based sunscreens that don't absorb into the skin (they use titanium dioxide and/or zinc oxide as a base). I use Kiss My Face's Mineral Lotion SPF 40. Works great and I had a lot of problems with sunscreens before I found it. Kiss My Face has other sunscreens though that are just regular sunscreens, so you need to read the labels.

I HATE sunscreen. Very sensitive, the chemical ones often break me out.

Have had better luck with Ombrelle spf 45 & 60 for face, with Mexoryl. (They just came out with another face one that has greater quantities of I think avobenzone, that is not the one I mean -- must be Mexoryl). The 60 has a tackier feel on the face.

La Roche Posay fluide 60 for face also has Mexoryl, with I think a slightly different base.

For physical SS, try Green Beaver. It's entirely zinc-based. (I and others sometimes react to the titanium dioxide present in many other physical SS). It's only SPF 15, but looks much better, cosmetically, than SPF 30 zinc sunscreens. It does offer less protection than the ones mentioned above, so when I use this, I also wear a hat & sunglasses.

I know you're Canadian - all these are Canadian brands (formulations/availability differ across countries bc of regulations), and you can get them at Shopper's (except the Green Beaver, which a lot of natural food/chemists carry; maybe Whole Foods too).

Taking this stuff off properly is key. Leaving residue can contribute to acne. Best way to remove SS is to use a cotton pad loaded up with a light pure oil -- jojoba, grapeseed -- and then proceed with an oil-removing cleanser. Foaming ones are good at getting what's left.

All this btw is a massive pain if you do activity in the middle of the day, and wear makeup.

I've tried expensive ones, all disasters. Only L'Oreal I think has the patent for the Mexoryl in Canada, and I'm not sure if they do very high end with it.

YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS ^^^

I have either super oily or super dry (after I wash my face) skin, and I find this moisturizer is the cure for my problems! Now when I wash my face it doesn't feel so dry and it doesn't flake anymore. It works for me!! LOVE IT !

I've tried the Cerave moisturizer (without SPF) and I prefer that for my body than on my face, because I felt that it wasn't absorbing very well on my face. It was giving me that shiny look, similar to that shine you see on a fish...lol, seriously!
