Because I am proud of my man. I don't "show him off" pre se but I love introducing him to people as he's bright, funny makes me happy and as a bonus very good looking. He's taught me so much and introduced me to alot of new things (running, archery, new foods etc) It's not a vanity thing, more like a "I finally found a well rounded, smart gentleman who doesn't abuse me" kinda thing :P

    exactly

I'm actually bringing my boyfriend to dinner at my brother's house for the first time in two weeks. We've been together for almost 9 months, and quite honestly the only reason I'm doing it now is it seems like a good thing to do before telling my big bro that he's moving in with me. lol I NEVER wanted my family to meet my boyfriends...my family is mean and scary to new people! :-D

Am I not allowed to post stupid nonsense from time to time?! Le sigh. I suppose this shall be my last attempt...

Newsflash: No one wants your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife despite your grandest delusions. You're welcome.

it's a shame that you think so little of your husband/boyfriend

Thanks, you took my fun thread and made me sad.

My first choice response to this was strike-worthy.

^My second-choice was to talk about my first choice. Lame.

I'm shallow and insecure. The fact that I was able to land a guy at all is a miracle. I just want to point at him and say "See? I'm not a total loser after all!"

If my bragging offends anyone, don't fear. He only lets me out with him once a month or so. Usually when it's dark outside and pretty late.

    ^^^ Love you.

Why is it when I am dating a girl, they always want me to meet their friends and family? Is it a mocha thing?

Girls who need to do this are insecure and desperate to get you so involved with their lives that you feel like you cant get out. . It's one thing to meet the family and friends, but all in due time. Your second date should not be at her parents house.

Agreed and some think it's reciprocal and will then expect to meet all yours sometimes with the same intent of "get so involved...you can't get out". If time has passed though it's the natural progression of being in each others lives.

I like to keep new men all to myself for a good long time to see what's really there with no distractions or outside opinions. Then once a certain amount of time has passed, if i'm being invited to family things and spending so much time that it's awkward NOT to invite him, he gets invited. It's kind of organic like that but that's how I do it, just wait till it comes up naturally and then go for it, no fear, no shame, but also no show offness. Even though the last man i brought was my current hubby and cousin goes, damn! You won the lotto!
