A reduced fat cheese is great.............
Agreed. Cheesy rubber is NOT appealing. If it is not creamy, it is not cheese.0 -
I just ate like a pound and a half of cheese. It's good fuel.
Now, THAT'S a lot of cheese!:noway: I've never eaten more than 2 ounces at a time. It is very filling. But :flowerforyou: for showing us how to EAT CHEESE.0 -
I have lost a lot of weight still ate cheese. I went from 250 pounds to my current 164 pounds. just limit your cheese . I love mini babybels0

I think cheese is an essential nutrient in weight loss. Diet Dr. Pepper, vegetables, cheese and beer in that order.0

A world without cheese is one I dont want to live in.0

cheese is great for you as long as there's no crazy amounts of added sugar.
i know sargento string cheese is amazing - 50 calories per stick, with less than 1g of carbohydrates.
dairy is important, cheese is necessary.0 -
My nutritionist told me absolutely no dairy at all but I have half a piece of provolone every morning. Ill just keep that from her :-)0

I can safely say I've eaten cheese every single day on the weight loss journey. :drinker:
I've lost 42 pounds so far, and plan to keep going :bigsmile:0 -
This! I love cheese. I eat cheese almost every day. I have too many other dietary restrictions to give up my cheese0 -
After lifting, I'll eat a whole 150g block of Danish blue. With a spoon. Yummy.

Love cheese. Never used to really have it at all as I had not explored the variety out there. Then I met my bf who is into aged stiltons and the like. I now regularly buy cheese, from Goat's cheese to Stilton to Emmental to my current Leerdammer. Still not tried Roquefort.0

Yes, you can.0

I eat low fat string cheese everyday. as long as it fits in my calorie range I'm good. I can't and won't live without it0
-
Thanks! Now I know who to go to for support!
BTW, Yes, you can eat cheese in moderation, fitting it into your calories.0 -
I'm losing and eating cheese. I do try to make smart choices, like if I put avocado on my salad, i won't put on cheese (or just put on the barest sprinkling) to cut calories.
Love cheese!0 -
I eat cheese, and am losing weight. I don't think I'd be a very happy person if I cut it out of my diet.0
-
As long as I keep it within my calorie limit and portion it out, can I still lose weight if I eat it everyday?0
-
Yes, as long as the cheese fits into your daily calorie limit. Also it keeps me satiated. I love dry curd cottage cheese + full fat plain yogurt + ricotta with a pinch of salt for lunch, along with some fruit as a side. I will eat lovely cheeses with my wine as well. Food is divine! Just practice moderation and limits.0

As long as it's not velveeta or other processed to crap cheese, then it's fine. Cheese can be a source of fats, and a calorie boost when you need it. I love cheese (I have a Cheesus Christ grater, no lies), and I've just learned to have it in moderation, and this also lets me enjoy it more.
Even if it's velveeta or some other processed goodness, it's fine as long as it fits within your calorie goals.0 -
I eat cheese every day. Not nearly as much as before I started MFP - but cheese is my life.0

I eat cheese every day, and have gotten to my goal weight. So yes, eat cheese. Just like everything else, eat it in moderation0

I eat cheese nearly every day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a day. It has never hindered my weight loss. Cheese is a perfect food - protein, fat and calcium. Only drawback is it's somewhat high in sodium. I love cheese because it's a great snack that keeps me full.0

i eat
Please don't. "Fat free" cheese is cheese that has been chemicalized to remove the fat. Fat in cheese helps synthesize the calcium.0 -

And as far as the OP - I've eaten cheese throughout my weight loss, has never caused a problem for me. As long as you maintain a caloric deficit, no particular food/food group is going to prevent weight gain.0 -
Sure you can, I do. Just make sure it's the good stuff, not yellow/orange plastic/processed/fat free crap. REAL cheese. Like a good provolone or a smoked gouda.0
