I have mixed tuna with ready made guacamole, the brand I have is 38 calories in 2 Tbs, that way I don't have to add onions or tomatoes to it unless I want more....just add celery and enjoy.......so good.0

For the tuna salad (makes 2 servings):
1/4 avocado (mashed)
1 can tuna (in water, NOT OIL)
1 handful diced celery
1 handful diced onions
salt to taste
About 145 calories for 1 serving
If you want to put it on a sandwich:
2 slices Nature's Own 100% Whole Grain bread
2 slices tomato
1 leaf romaine lettuce
Adds about 110 calories
Making the tuna salad this way using avocado instead of mayo lets you avoid all the saturated fat in the mayo and reap the benefits of the omega 3 fatty acids in the avocado, while also lowering the calorie count a bit. The taste kind of reminds me of guacamole but definitely still tastes like tuna salad. Try it and let me know what you think!
I've been doing this FOREVER, since I HATE mayo ... I add chickpeas and use romaine heart leaves or endive, as "scoops' or "boats" ... no bread, since I'm GF ... (I haven't found a good gluten free bread, so I don't eat bread ... )0 -
Oh, and plain yogurt is also a good mayo substitute ... And, yes, it does go well with tuna ...0

Gonna try this0

I just made this. I added onion and garlic powder, and omitted the chopped onion (texture issue.) Thumbs up!0
