June 2010 - No more snacking after dinner

Hi-
First of all, thank you dewdrop for sending me a message and encouraging me to join this month's challenge. :flowerforyou: I had every intention of doing so at the end of May, but then my mom had emergency surgery and I dropped everything and left. I am home now, but will still be in and out for the next couple weeks even tho Mom is fine. While I may not always be logging on to the computer or mfp, I will still try to stick to my cut-off time of 9:30 p.m. (11:30 p.m. if out on the week-end or special occasion).
So,tonight is my Day 1 of no late night snacking.
Zaza
PS Congrats dewdrop on 25 days of no late night snacking for you in May!! :drinker: Quite an accomplishment.
PPS Juledes, I love your rainbow picture. Very uplifting and beautiful.0 -
Making a new rule for the remaining of June (we're almost half way through :drinker:): no snacks after dinner, no dinner later than 2 hrs before bed. Unless I go overboard with calories, this will give me the points. 8 o'clock would only make sense if I ate properly then. Which isn't always possible. So, for last night: Dew: 11 - Late snacks: 2.
Reason wins! :flowerforyou:0 -
Everyone seems to be having good success for the most part. It's encouraging :drinker:
Welcome Becky :flowerforyou:
Sorry bout your mom Zaza. Glad she's on the mend
me 13 snacks 30 -
I'm not sure they totally deserve it, but I like fooling them (the snacks) into thinking I'm theirs again, to just return stronger
So I did. Boy, was I determined this time : Dew: 13 - Late snacks: 3
Now on to beat the unlucky number
Zaza, so glad you're back at this.
Rosemary, thanks for always finding the right words - btw, I came up over breakfast yesterday with a funny (I hope) comment for you. Remember last month when I said you shouldn't try to even me out at the points given to snacks? hehe you said you honestly weren't aiming for that. So I though that yes, you weren't, but your snacks were; they were simply trying to keep mine company
juledes, hope tonight went well. You are inspirational.
Lorna, wassup?
Hope everyone else is keeping on keeping on0 -
nikkieliivey - you're so motivational. Awesome job! :flowerforyou:0

11 me/5 snacks
OOPS :blushing: :blushing: :blushing: But I do have to say the ice cream was SOOOO good. Hadn't had any in awhile. And eating it with my two favorite guys made it all worth while.0 -
Dew - you're right! It IS the little thieving snacks trying to keep themselves company. Thats my new name for them (LTS). lol
Lulabelle - Once in awhile is not going to hurt you. 2 to go is great place to be. :flowerforyou:
Best to all tonight! :drinker:0 -
12 me/5 junk (I think)
I really don't remember what time I finished dinner last night, but I do know I didn't eat anything afterwards. I've been sick, so I haven't had a huge appetite either way. I'm going to give it to me0 -
I'm again with Rosemary, Lorna - you deserved the sweet reward, considering how strong you were every night.
Last night was good, I finished dinner by 8 again, so Dew: 14 - Late snacks 3 (hey, I'm past the "unlucky" number!)0 -
Lorna - Sorry you"re sick.
Last night I was good up until midnight, and actually I didn't buy any snacks until I ate all my "good food" first. But the cut off of 4:00 am is not working since I go to bed about 9:00 am. I'm just too hungry lately. Felt yucky at work about 5 ish so got some coffee and an Egg Mcmuffin. Needless to say it's only mid afternoon and I'm over my calories for the day and I still gotta stay up another 7 hours and eat supper. Sometimes it's just that way.
Tomorrow is going to be fun since my niece is getting married. I'm just going to be reasonable and enjoy my extended family.0 -

Me: 15 - Late snacks: 3. Ate past 8, because I got home late, but I was good .0

Me: 16 - Late snacks: 3.
How's the weekend going, ladies?0 -
Well the wedding was great!! We got backed up on the interstate due to construction (went 7 miles in 40 min). But we got there in time to hear a bit of the sermon and their vows. They had started a bit late, so while most everyone sat in the hot sun, we were still coming in our air conditioned cars. Still I think if I have to travel very far to a wedding again I'll probably need to start more early in case of unforseen circumstances. Food wise - I'm skipping the day.
Me 15, Snacks 4 and Skipped 10 -

That's a new concept   . I must confess, I was tempted a few times to do the same :glasses: . Glad to hear you had a nice time :drinker: .
Last night was good, so I'm happy to report that Dew (17) beats the Late snacks (3). :bigsmile:0 -

Hiya guys. I know you are lurking. That's okay. I'm still here, waiting for you.0 -
Lula you made your goal weight!!!! Yea!!!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
I went to my son's church last night, then we went out to Subway for dinner. Needless to say it was late. But I was still good concerning the snacks. And Tues night at work was too busy to snack.
Skipped 1, Snacks 4 and Me 190 -
15 me/9 junk
I'm giving it to junk because I really did badly yesterday on all fronts. But hopefully I can get my act together today.
Thank Rosemary. I'm technically 0.3 lb away from it for my six-week challenge. Then on to my next goal. This is usually where I self-sabotage and gain it all back. Hoping to actually get into the 130s and stay there this time around.
Dewdrop - no signing in for three days??? What a busy summer you must be having. We miss you and hope to hear from you soon!!!0 -
Yeah Lula the 130's sounds good. I seem to be telling myself a bit too much that it's ok to slack off a bit; telling myself that I'll hit it harder tomorrow. And this is the first week that I went up instead of down. :ohwell:At some point I'll need to know how to maintain so that eating right feels "normal". Nothing feels normal yet.
Me 19 / Snacks 5 (there were Doritos just sitting here tonight) and Missed 1
Dew, Hope you're alright. (In my line of work we always think the worst things have happened when people are unexpectantly absent)0 -
Today was the birthday party for my twin grandsons. They were a hoot. It was the first time they had dairy (ice cream) and wheat (the cake flour). They liked the ice cream but seemed a bit confused with the cake. They couldn't decide if it was food, play dough, finger paint or mud pies. As I've told my DD in the past, "you can't underestimate the play value of food". It was even entertainment for the adults to watch......Needless to say, the day's calories were shot.
As far as snackin goes - I forgot tonight when I was making a dessert for the pitchin tomorrow at church, and ate one of my chocolate covered strawberries. :noway:
Me 19 /Snacks 6/ Days skipped 1
Shoulda skipped today too!0 -
Did not do real bad at the pitch-in. However later at work the Snacks got me. I'm working in a unit tonight that has a candy dish out all the time. Had to have some tootsie rolls..... The next few days should be a challenge since my daughter and the kids are coming over while they get their AC fixed. I'm off, but I'll feel like I have to cook a bunch. Did find a magazine on clean eating at work. It looks real interesting. It's pretty much how I've liked to eat for years. I didn't know it had a name. Hopefully my DD will go along with it. She's pretty much there already. I think the magazine will help me bump it up a notch.
So it's Me19 /Snacks 7/ Skipped 1
Are you all coming back to finish June?0 -
